Lumina Optometry (formerly known as Nicholas G Kerry and Jeffrey D Salman, OD’s) has been faithfully serving San Anselmo and all of Marin since 1928. Dr. Salman specializes in ocular disease, specialty contact lenses, and geriatrics, while Lumina’s latest addition, Dr. Jacqueline Theis specializes in pediatrics, double vision, sports vision, and low vision. Dr. Salman and Dr. Theis are amongst the most knowledgeable and caring professionals that you will find anywhere.

History

Established in 1928.

This optometry practice was originally established in 1928 by Dr. Harold Druin. Dr. Druin successfully ran the practice until 1945, when it was purchased by Dr. Bernard Faibish.

In 1975, the practice moved to its current location and took on a partner, Dr. Nicholas Kerry. Dr. Faibish and Dr. Kerry practiced optometry together until 1998. At that time, Dr. Faibish retired and the partnership brought in Dr. Jeffrey Salman. The partnership of Dr. Kerry and Dr. Salman served Marin until 2013. On Jan 1^st, 2013, Dr. Salman took over the practice and renamed it Lumina Optometry.

With the recent addition of Dr. Jacqueline Theis, Lumina Optometry is poised to be the premier optometry practice for San Anselmo as well as all of Marin County.

Meet the Business Owner

Business Owner

Dr. Salman is a 1990 graduate of UC Berkeley School of Optometry. Upon graduation he joined the United States Air Force. He accomplished six years of active duty at David Grant Medical Center, where he was Director of Contact lens services. Dr. Salman was also an adjunct clinical professor at UC Berkeley School of Optometry during this time frame and enjoyed teaching numerous optometry students.

He left active duty in 1996, joining the current practice in San Anselmo in 1998. Dr. Salman currently works for the Veterans Administration in Oakland while sharing his time at the private practice. Dr. Salman has also remained in the Air Force reserves since 1996 and is a LtCol for the 349^th Aerospace Medicine Squadron at Travis Air Force Base.

Dr. Salman enjoys taking time with his patients to understand their needs and answer all of their questions. He is exceedingly knowledgeable and caring.
