Larson Dental

My wife took our son to Larson Dental years ago and had the most horrible experience ever. The office staff is RUDE, the dentist was rough, held my 4 year old son’s head down while trying to do a filling on him while he was screaming and crying and then treated us like we were the problem. I took my child out of the chair and left. Thanks to Larson Dental he has a phobia of dentists and has to be sedated for any dental work. Do NOT take your children here, go to a pediatric dentist who cares about children and knows what they are doing. I always make a point to tell anyone looking for a dentist to steer clear of Larson Dental.

Dr. Scott Larson is very knowledgeable and personable. I have never waited longer than 1 minute in the waiting room for my appointment. His dental hygienist is AMAZING!

I came in on Friday to do a consultation about getting braces again. Dr. Scott Larson was very knowledgeable and basically read my mind on what I wanted to do! We decided on invisalign and I’m very excited as I feel that I’ve finally found a great place. I also got my teeth cleaned by his hygienist and he was so gentle with me. He was also hilarious! I love all his staff. Such an awesome place.

They have been my dentist for a long time. They have always taking good care of me. And worked out a payment plan with me.

very bad service and charge my wife 100dollars without notice. It should be all covered by our insurance. Do not go if you are new. Horrible clinic.

This office is the reason people fear going to the dentist. I felt that they were rough, and the MD was extremely unkind. He seems «put out» when he «has» to answer your questions.

Dr. Eric Larson was the most awful dentist I have ever had the misfortune to meet. I went in for a root canal and to fix a small chip in my front tooth after reading some ok reviews on him and he was very close by. He did the root canal first, in which he attempted to numb me, give me valium and charged me $ 75 for nitrous oxide that didn’t even work in the slightest. Even after all of that, he had to give me a shot in the nerve of my tooth that was so extremely painful that I screamed. Call me a wimp but dentists should cater to cowards and this dentist was incredibly rude. He told me it was my fault nothing worked because I wasn’t letting it work. He actually said that to me. Like I want to feel that pain! Give me a break.
The next time, he conned me into getting a veneer rather than a composite filling on my tiny chip. He did not describe the procedure and the fact my entire tooth would be ground down to half its size… and that I’d never have my real tooth again. If I had known, I wouldn’t have bothered getting it fixed. He upsold me to unnecessary work so he could make more money by doing a veneer rather than a simple small filling. I’m a young adult and all I could do was put my trust in his «professional» opinion.
Before we even started taking the color shade for my veneer, I bought a bleaching kit in office and bleached my teeth to a nice, satisfactory shade. He then added the temporary filling while waiting for my veneer to come back from the lab. It ended up leaking, which turned HALF of my front tooth BLACK!!! I couldn’t even see him until two days later! I went in when the office opened at 8AM so I could make it to work on time. He was 20 minutes late and according to the assistants, he was late every day. Ridiculous and unacceptable. He finally gets in and of course I’m a little upset, but not rude. I let him know that I need to be to work within an hour and we need to get it done quickly. He replies with the most snide, sarcastic tone that made my skin crawl «Let me use my magic wand so I can just wave it and everything will be fixed… Hurry hurry hurry, we gotta hurry!» I was stunned and frankly, really hurt. I couldn’t believe he thought it was ok to talk to me that way. Even the assistant was appalled and told me not to come back after my veneer.
The worst part? Well I went back for my veneer and it didn’t match. The translucency, the color, the shape, was off, and I didn’t start to notice until about two weeks later. It was then confirmed months later how bad the veneer was by my sister-​in-​law dental assistant of 7 years. Since I had signed the consent form, I felt there was nothing I could do. I paid the piece of crap almost $ 1000 for the veneer. Well I finally went back to the jerk, who tried to tell me I agreed to the procedure and its not his fault it doesn’t match (I wasn’t the one that took the shade jerk). I didn’t know what the procedure was, just that he recommended it was the best choice. Maybe I should’ve asked more questions, but I trusted him.
He advised me to go to the lab all the way in Layton and get a custom shade. So I did. Then I called his office multiple times. His secretary told me I’d have to pay it again in full. I told his secretary I didn’t feel I should repay the full price when it wasn’t right from the beginning, but I’d pay some. She told me Eric Larson would get back to me. He never did. I called again and got the same answer. Still no call. Every time I called, he was busy or with a patient and my calls were never returned. This guy is terrible. I wish I wouldn’t have given my money to such an awful, unethical and uncaring dentist. Please please don’t go to him, don’t take your kids to him, avoid him at all costs. Please take my word for it; this guy is NOT your guy.

As a new client to Larson Dental I was shocked when I received our bill, seeing that there was a $ 49.00 charge for nitrous oxide that was not covered by our insurance and made up half of our bill from Larson Dental. Dr. Eric Larson had never mentioned that it would be a $ 49.00 charge for the nitrous oxide, so I contacted Larson Dental to see if they would be willing to clarify the matter. On two separate occasions I was told by their staff over the phone that the Dr. should of told me that there is a $ 49.00 fee for nitrous oxide — however they were not willing to reverse the fee even after she explained that they had failed to disclose this at the time. It seems very irresponsible and dishonest for a business to not fully disclose the cost of a service. I did not sign a consent form to be charge this additional fee, nor did I give them oral consent.
As a consumer, I would expect to that I should be informed of extra charges prior to incurring them — not after the fact. Moreover, I feel that Larson Dental did not appreciate us as a client and make an effort in good faith to resolve this issue.
