Anderson-Foothill Library

Nice wood feeling set by a stream and wooded cove doesn’t sound like a library but it is. The kind almost Sherlock like librarians are there to assist you to find that musical, mystical or whatever realm you’re searching for. A home away from home a school or hideaway from the cold world. Hope to see you there. Warning every once and Awhile there are little beasts that go running Around totally out of control

This is a cute neighborhood library tucked into a quiet residential area. This library is much like the Sweet library in the Avenues (no pun intended), in that it is small (though bigger than the Avenue’s library, I think), clean, and well-​stocked. I love that this library has tons of natural light, courtesy of the ample windows peering out into surrounding trees.
The staff was overall friendly but seemed a tad overwhelmed by all of the patrons. But after a couple minutes, they responded by opening up two additional check out lines.
This branch also had far more books in stock than the Sugarhouse Sprague library. We will be back!

This is the closest location of SLC Public Library. The place itself is cute, easily accessible, and I’ve never had trouble finding parking. +1 for the drive through return bins– make a short run to the library to return books just that.
The number one thing I love about the library, however, is the ability to request any and everything to be sent to your local library to await you for pick-​up. This service is not fast, and completely depends upon who else has a hold on your item before you do, but it’s a good way to. for example, finally watch that TV show, or read that bestseller you’ve had your eye on.
In terms of a place to study, I wouldn’t really recommend the library. Parents seem to think that it’s a good place to bring kids to run free, and there isn’t much shushing going on. In fact, usually adults are the loudest offenders in the library. It brings back wistful memories of my own childhood neighborhood library, where the librarian was still a stern appearing woman who would shush us children violently.

This is a great library. The service is fast and the selection is gigantic!
I’d give it 5 stars, but there’s a FUNK in here. Not sure if it’s just old building stink, or what. But it’s odd and not at all appealing.

What can I say? I love public libraries. From the time I was a little bitty person, the smell of books has been more beloved than the smell of freshly baked cookies. I could spend hours lost in the pages and pages of truth telling and fiction.
Salt Lake has a particularly good library system. I love this little library for the kind and helpful employees and for the close knit community feel.
The library system also allows you to conveniently move books between branches in a quick fashion. The employees know their books well and have been able to locate books for me that weren’t in the system but they knew were present.
