Hit or miss. Most of the time the tortas are skimped. Every once in a while they will make a proper torta but most of the time they put just enough vegetables and just enough meat to say that they put all of the ingredients in the sandwich although if the owner were making himself one I know it wouldn’t look like the one that he serves to his customers.

We were passing through Salinas and looking for breakfast, hoping to avoid Del Taco or Dennys. We Unilocaled and found La Plaza. We got three tortas(2 breakfast and one chicken milanesa) and one burrito. The tortas were excellent — — nice bread and large portions. I could only finish half of mine The guys at the next table had a variety of plates and it all looked pretty good, especially the tacos. We also split a pastry that was filled with sweet cream cheese — — yum. We like to support local businesses when on the road and this was a nice find.

Poor service ! My mom bought 2 maiz quesadillas after working an overnight shift … The lady needed up forgetting to put carne Assad in them … My mom called back and the lady apologized and told her to go back and she would give her the difference back … When she got there the owner would not give her the difference because he said the policy was to bring it back right away and they would make a new one. Now my mom lives all the way on the other side of town and was tired from working a night shift. Who in their right mind would drive back then and there ! The owner was insensitive and obviously doesn’t know a thing about customer service. We have been going to plaza bakery since I was kid ! All I can say is somebody need to to remind him what loyalty is. I won’t ever go to that location. I prefer the plaza bakery by k mart. So beware ! Check your food before you leave because obviously they will not be considerate of their loyal customers

Wow! Driving from San Luis Obispo to Pleasanton, needed a quick pit stop for some food and gas. Found this bakery on Unilocal, this will be our new pit stop from now on when we take this route. My son and I each ordered a breakfast sandwich, neither one of us were disappointed, it was a scrumptious breakfast sandwich! The employees were very friendly, and the bathroom was clean.

We normally eat at the Davis Rd. location, but my truck was at Rossi Bros. and La Plaza was in walking distance. Tortas are delicious, and taste identical to the Davis Rd. location; everyone is on the same page in regards of making sanwiches. All tortas are good, it comes down to what kind you are in the mood for. I can honestly say the tortas are the best around. The pastries are always good. Wide selection and fresh, however, I feel like they are more expensive than other bakeries. I’m refering to the pastries only, the tortas and everything else seems reasonably priced. Other delicious items when served are the albondigas and posole! I have never had a bad experience here. Staff is polite and I always feel comfortable.

Bread is relatively expensive compared to other panaderias. Food sold here is good. Try the Tortas and the bolillos(rolls)

Best sweet bread in town. You will love the elote sweet bread, pan de queso(a croissant filled with a sweet cream cheese filling), their tortas are also a big hit. The bread is to die for when it is straight out of the oven!

WOW! What a great find! We were in Salinas for a friend’s wedding and had no idea where to get breakfast, then we Unilocal!Only in Salinas, CA not many people Unilocal and many small businesses are not represented. We found this place because I was at the point of near STARVATION and was going to settle for Subway(next door)! Thankfully I was conscious enough to see this attractive and humble Mexican Bakery and decided to try it. I had the Breakfast Burrito(eggs, chorizo, potatoes, and beans) at noon even though they stop serving breakfast at 11:00AM they made an exception. My wife had the Torta de Jamon(Ham Torta). Service was AMAZING, the staff was very accommodating and nice while they served us! The food was AMAZING! Quality, fresh ingredients prepared when you order. It tastes like something out of your mother’s kitchen! This place will satisfy your Mexican breakfast needs in Salinas!
