History

Established in 1997.

Axis Physical Therapy has been serving the Salinas Valley and Monterey Peninsula for more than 14 years providing outpatient physical therapy services. Physical therapists Mario Teering and Marcel Lak started the Salinas office at the end of 1997 and opened the Pacific Grove clinic in 2003. They offer over 45 years of combined experience in rehabilitation.

Business Owner

Mario is a native of The Netherlands and graduated in 1986 from The Twentse Academie voor Fysiotherapie. He received his manual therapy certification (MTC) from the University of St. Augustine in Florida in 1992. He co-​started Axis Physical Therapy at the end of 1997, after gaining much experience as a traveling rehab director, as well as spending 5 years in private practice in the Netherlands. He maintains a strong interest in manual and orthopedic/​sports physical therapy as well as lymphedema care. He has been working full-​time in our Salinas office since 1997.
