My son has been taking private piano lessons here for about 6 months. He is learning so much and enjoying himself. Mrs. Tallman is his instructor and she is great with him. The front office staff is pleasant and helpful. We will continue here!

My daughter is currently taking an 18 week group piano lesson… it is a very small group of three… she loves it and has learned a lot! The girl in front who also answers phones is very pleasant and the piano teacher is great! I would definitely recommend checking this place out as they have a lot of different classes for kids!

Choir instructor seems great. Administration however needs some customer service guidance. Miscommunication can lead you to a $ 40 cancellation fee. They feel it better to hold you to a ridiculous fee than to clear up any misunderstandings for the future and keep you as a current customer. Bad way to keep customers. FYI be careful with what you say and how you say it, or next thing you know you will have been enrolled in a class by the admin and sent a notification of class confirmation and a notice of payment. Then comes the $ 40 fee when you try to tell them you aren’t taking the class. I informed within 24 hours of receiving a confirmation of a class I hadn’t technically signed up for. But because the class was coming up in 7 days I was told I now have a $ 40 cancellation fee.
Was happy with the music instructor, but won’t be a return customer due to the petty unprofessionalism of the clerical staff.

Mrs. Tallman and her team at the Modesto Academy are exceptional teachers. I took music lessons from Mrs. Tallman for ten years. I feel that her instruction in music greatly contributed to my academic success and overall happiness. Even now as a busy attorney in California, I still challenge myself musically and try to continue building upon what Mrs. Tallman has taught me. She is extremely professional, patient, and down-​to-​earth. When I had recitals, I remember being proud that she was my instructor as opposed to the other ones out there. Whenever I interact with other musicians, I realize how well she has taught me when I am able pass on her teachings.
I highly recommend Mrs. Tallman and the Modesto Academy of Music & Design for anyone who is interested in learning music.
