Whoops! Towing and Recovery

I recently had a timing chain replacement performed by this shop. Per their recommendation I have allowed 2 – 300 miles for the «car’s computer to adjust to the new parts». As of today, it has been over 400 miles and the Check Engine Light (CEL) continues to throw the same error code (P1340) as before the repair was performed. The CEL has been reset several times since and continues to come back on. In addition, the idle is now worse than before the repair.
Subsequently I went to three additional shops to get a second opinion and I had my worst fears confirmed: The car was not properly fixed.
As my repeated phone calls are not being returned, it is clear Mike’s has no interest in redoing this job. I have asked for a refund in writing but so far no response.
Mike’s Auto Repair got in over their heads with my car. Instead of admitting their mistake and returning the car, they did a hack job and took my money. Adding insult to injury it took them three weeks to ‘finish’.
Mike’s Auto Repair has an ‘F’ rating per the BBB. Use them at your own peril. I wish I had been more careful.
