Pretzel Stop

We especially love the pretzel stop for their custom shaped pretzels. At Christmas we picked up several tree-​shaped pretzels with cheese for parties. They were always a big hit. The football-​shaped pretzel that we took to a Superbowl party didn’t make it to the first touch down.

In the realm of «fast food» options around town, this is one of my favorites. I’ve visited several times, mostly through the drive-​thru on my way home or somewhere else. Good prices, excellent pretzels. My son loves the pretzels and the pretzel bites, and the different dipping sauces are excellent!

Today was my first visit and I chose the salted pretzel bites with cheddar cheese for dipping. I really appreciated that they were not covered in butter and most of the bites were not loaded with salt; I prefer just a sprinkle. The pretzel was nice and golden brown on the outside and fluffy on the inside. They were a delicious snack while I was out running errands!

Have been here several times for pretzels and just once, our most recent visit, for food. The pretzels are fantastic and just what a soft pretzel should be. (Guess all those who say they’re too soft or too much like bread have only had the hard type that come from the grocery store in boxes or bags). The last time we visited it was for lunch and the burger was very good. Can’t comment on the dipping sauces, as I’m a purest when it comes to pretzels and just want the bread and salt. Will continue to visit on a regular basis for more.

Absolutely not what I was expecting! It was so good! I ordered a #3 turkey and cheese sandwich combo and it was a fantastic meal. The sandwich comes with this outstanding pretzel bread that puts all other pretzel bread to shame. Pretzel Stop takes their time making the sandwich and it sure shows. The combo also comes with either a bag of chips or pretzel bites and a soda. I highly recommend this place for lunch. I provided a photo of half of the sandwich you receive.

1 soft pretzel and dip for $ 3.13 after tax, decent deal, tasted good but more bread like than pretzel like. The problem I had was when I paid. I gave $ 5.15, received $ 1.96 in change. I handed it back and told the young lady I gave her $ 5.15, should have $ 2.02 in change. «No you didn’t. You gave me $ 5.06.» I was about to start explaining how she was wrong, twice, as the change she was trying to give me wasn’t even correct for what she said I gave her. It wasn’t worth the time or effort to argue over a few pennies. The reciept says I gave her $ 5.09 so at least the change she gave me reconciled with what the register told her to give based on her entry. Counting the drawers at night must be a pain the the butt there. Pay with debit card.

I have to say that I was looking forward to going to Pretzel Stop but like another reviewer noted, I kept getting there late and they close a bit early than the normal fast casual establishment. I now work in the area and was able to try it right after work and I have to say… the experience had its ups and downs.
First off, I ordered a pretzel with cheese sauce and the pretzel burger. I tried the burger first and I have to say the patty was cooked and seasoned well. Also, I have to say the veg (lettuce and tomato) were probably the freshest veg I’ve ever had on a burger in a fast casual environment like this. I actually believe someone cut off the slices of tomato on my burger to order and the touch was very nice. The actual part that kind of caught me off guard was the bun. It was more of a salted roll with a pretzel look. It was fine for the burger but not the pretzel bun I was hoping for.
I next turned to the pretzel to offer me the pretzel satisfaction I was craving and once again was disappointed. They look 100% like pretzels but… they’re different. Pretzel Stop makes pretzels in a way I’ve never had before. Soft pretzels I’ve had have always been more dry, dense and crumbly, their pretzels are way… bread-​like. They in every way taste like a dinner roll to me. You can even tell when you pull the pretzel apart that it is way more roll than pretzel just by how it has layers.
There is nothing actually wrong with their pretzels. They taste fine, they’re cooked well but they aren’t what I want in a pretzel. To me, I’d not even consider what they serve to be a pretzel. I feel bad about giving them a three because they obviously care about what they do but for a place named Pretzel Stop to disappoint on their namesake, I felt three was the best I could do for them.

Great pretzel brats and I love dipping mine in the raspberry mustard.
Not a big fan of the regular pretzels but simply because I prefer my pretzels less sweet and less bread like.

INCREDIBLE !!! This is a lunch/​snack favorite of mine! If you haven’t stopped in yet, you had better soon!

Awesome food! No place like it in the Saint Louis area.
Pretzel Stop moved locations and ended up by my house. Good for them but bad for me as I like to eat there more than I should.
The pretzel burgers, pretzel dogs, pretzel pizza, and just their basic pretzel tastes amazing. I’ve been to several other «local» pretzel shops around St. Louis and this one is the best. The pretzels with toppings inside or out (dogs and pizzas) are really good and neither have too much topping or too much bread.
I don’t care for the cheddar sauce but the nacho cheese sauce is good, as is the marinara.
Definitely go. They are closed on Mondays so keep that in mind.

This review isn’t from any specific visit — but rather a combination of several visits.
All told, my wife and I are fans. The pretzels have always been fresh and tasty and the service is always quick and friendly. The dips are actually a touch over-​sized — for me really enough for two pretzels — which gives me an excuse to order two pretzels. :)
I will say I’m not a fan of the cheddar cheese which surprised me, but the nacho cheese and the honey mustard are both very good. With the Page extension finally open all the way it makes it’s given us an excuse to visit that area more often and we do try and stop by.

I would like to see more on the menu.

Love this place! Friendly service. The price was kinda high but I understand why the quality is fantastic. If more people try this place they would love it too. I was excited to get a coupon in the mail because I don’t think a lot of people know they’re there or how good it actually is. I don’t wanna lose this place!

I have been want to stop here for so long but they are always closed when I feel like stopping. (Their store closes pretty early in the evenings). This time in town I made sure I stopped by to try out their highly rated pretzels. Maybe I was expecting more but I wasn’t overly impressed. The pretzels we got were overly salty… and the cheese dip was kinda gross. I know they offer unsalted pretzels but I like salt… just not to the extreme I need to wash down each bite to get the taste out of my mouth. The cheese dip was a nacho cheese, not a plain cheese which would have been great on nachos but not what I would pick for a pretzel. Maybe its me, but I wasn’t a fan… I love the idea of Pretzel Stop… maybe I need to try something besides their basic pretzels next time I’m in town.

I’m obsessed with this place. Very good pretzels and cheese without having to go to the mall or a game to get one :)
I totally want to try more from here. Like the dessert pretzels. But what I have tried has been great. They have very friendly employees too. Super cheap as well! Totally recommend.

Delicious pretzels. Good dips. Always a great place to grab a snack or small meal. We’ve ordered custom pretzels and party trays, with great results. Everyone has enjoyed when we brought the pretzels to share.

Finally tried this place the other day, and the ham, and cheese sub is awesome! i didn’t even know they made burger, and subs. though I do plan on coming back, and trying a little more on the menu.

Very tasty! Service was polite and quick. Restaurant is very clean. I had the the #1 Combo (large pretzel bite cup, cheese or mustard dip and large drink). The pretzel bites are huge! The cheese is good, definitely not some out of the can SAMs club stuff. I look forward to coming back!

My wife found this place on her way home one day — their new location is sort of strange because it’s not open inside yet. So, it’s all drive-​thru based.
Even still, the pretzels are delicious. The dessert pretzels are just awesome (tried the cinnamon and raspberry so far). Bites are pretty good, as well.
Wasn’t expecting much, but it’s really good! Much better taste than the pretzels from the mall pretzel companies.

Pretzel Stop, you are my new best friend! I love soft pretzels and these pretzels are soft, a little chewy and not too much salt. Not only do they offer pretzels, but they offer brats and hot dogs wrapped in pretzel goodness. You can also get pretzel bites if you aren’t into twists. They offer a nice variety if dipping sauce such as raspberry honey mustard, buffalo blue cheese, champagne garlic and your standards like cheese, honey mustard and ranch. I have tried the brat and hot dog pretzel both hit the spot, but I don’t think I could eat more than one at a time.
Dessert is also offered! WHOO! You can get a peanut butter or cream cheese stuffed pretzel with your choice of drizzle sauce. I think the sauces were chocolate, strawberry, icing and something else. The peanut butter one is yummy! I love peanut butter so it was win either way.
They offer special order pretzels. You can have them make a pretzel in lots of different shapes for holidays, birthdays, sports events and just about anything as long as it isn’t too complicated.
Pretzel Stop is a drive through only, but the parking lot is huge so if you don’t want to take it home you could chill in the parking lot or take a short drive to the St. Charles riverfront.
Beverages (soda and water) are sold in bottles only. I say beer goes better.
