It is a great place to hangout for happy hour. I was there for a coworkers going away party. It is has a great ambience for fans of happy hours and is one of the best Irish pubs I have visited.

This place is not for FAMILIES!!! Two times now I have waited for an hour to get a burger. It would have been nice if they indicated this when we were seated instead of 45 minutes in tell us we were slammed. First time I waited it out and the second time I left and got food at the coop for my family. Do not go here if you want a normal wait time. Hungry kids waiting is not fun!!! Clearly the kitchen cannot handle the restaurant orders when at full capacity.

OMG, this place has the best burgers in town and don’t let anybody tell you otherwise. The Nookie Supreme is the thing that dreams are made of. Fresh homemade fries are top notch as well. YUM!!!

Went here for a brunch event but let me be clear that Shamrock’s does not have brunch! My only option here is their black bean burger which is your typical spicy, frozen patty. I had asked for mine without mayo or cheese. Our server was great with a big crowd but when food came out she was rather careless. A chicken bacon meal was placed in front of me carelessly and it was left to our table to figure out where it went. When my actual meal arrived it did not have mayo but the patty was so stuck to the bun with cheese that I couldn’t separate them. Needless to say after tasting how spicy it was(I can’t do spice. I’m shameless) I knew I couldn’t eat it anyway so I settled for my fries. The fries were greasy and delicious.(I should know by now to just skip the burger at these places because they’re never fresh). Atmosphere is fine and there’s even a little arcade that seems old school and decent.

Mostly known for their outstanding juicy lucy’s, Shamrock’s should start being known for their wings as well. Stopped by with a group of friends and they all know I’m a foodie so of course they were curious what I was getting. We simply wanted an app after having a small lunch elsewhere and my wife and I tend to go for wings to try new places. What caught our attention was the MN Wild Wings. They sat high on the heat index, but no description as what they were. After asking and being told they were a dry rub and full of flavor, we had to try them. OUTSTANDING! They’re lucky they were so good, because they were far too small. They were cooked perfectly and again, full of amazing flavor. I may have to go back for their wing challenge — 20 wings in their habanero sauce in a short amount of time without anything to drink. Doesn’t sound that difficult after eating ghost peppers and scotch bonnets!

Trivia on Monday and Tuesday nights(there seems to be a good and consistent following), $ 3 and $ 4 beers and cheap burgers and $ 1 fries, and obviously here is where you can get a Juicy Lucy.(Those prices are during trivia times, I’m not sure if that’s consistent with all nights) It’s great for large groups since they have lots of seating and bar space available. Parking can be a bit tough since they don’t have their own lot, but there is a bank across the street that is available during off-hours. Our server wasn’t over-the-top friendly but hey, this isn’t a place to go if you’re looking for the most upscale dining experience. There is a stage up front so maybe there’s entertainment at times… Get ready to bob your head to some music and enjoy yourself here.

Called ahead with a party of 16, expecting a wait. They were able to accommodate us very quickly, and the food and service was awesome. Sour server Katie was super organized and did such a great job considering our party was more than half children. Love this place!

We LOVE Shamrocks! Even though we live in the eastern suburbs, it is always worth a trip here for the excellent warm and friendly bar staff. They greet us warmly when we walk in the door and take good care of us! Today we had George, Kevin and 2 other hard working helpers. Also have had great service from Kelly, Katie, Ricky, Mark and Peter. Can’t go wrong at this place. Great food, good drinks and superb service! I always get the basic cheeseburger and my husband usually opts for the firehouse burger. Every burger is great!! We will keep coming over and over –plus George is always entertaining.

Epitome of the typical Irish bar and grill. Excellent food and even better happy hour specials at good prices. A hockey crowd when the Wild plays at home. Also bingo and trivia nights. Anybody who doesn’t like this place needs to have their head examined.

Three experiences with great food but mediocre to poor service can’t save the rating. 1st visit we waited 45 minutes for our food and it was not busy. The waitress explained that she had forgotten to submit our order. 2nd and 3rd visits, not a long wait, but staff was not friendly and seemed annoyed.

Normally a fun place to eat, tonight’s service was enough to ruin the whole evening. No eye contact. Would set things on our table and just walk away without saying a word. Took plates away that weren’t finished. Hard to get her attention. The whole evening seemed like we were just an annoyance to her. Food, good as always. Service, worst I’ve ever had there.

Wow, I can’t believe anyone would give this place more than two stars. We came in because the wonderful Thai place next door was closed for Labor Day and it was a poor substitute How it’s Irish I don’t know – because they serve Guinness? I’m pretty sure my Walleye was just cod and my husband’s burger was way red– not that he was asked how he wanted it. No refills – terrible service. Dark because they don’t want you to see the food.

Slow service, but super food. We were really surprised to enter. The inside is huge. Maybe too big. That might be why the super nice, overworked server doesn’t get a five star rating. We had Juicy Nook burgers. They were really special. Also, the sweet potato fries at first were really good. We ordered them without their signature cinnamon/sugar glaze. They came with it on. The server was too busy to get her attention to object so we are them any way. At first, they were good, but, after a few, it seemed sickeningly sweet. The burgers were out of this world though. We will definitely be back. Gets crowded. Recommend going early.

I will preface this review by saying I’m a bit of a burger snob. Service, ambiance, and value were all 5 star, so this review is not about that. I will absolutely go here again. I would recommend other people come here. You’ll have a good time, i have no doubt. I liked the fries quite a lot. You can tell they cut them in house because they taste fresh. I’ve deep fried frozen potatoes before and I can tell. These were fresh. I would have preferred to salt them myself but thanks for not over salting them. I’d order the fries by themselves. I had a traditional cheeseburger(meat, cheese, bun). I did request a slice of raw onion. I figured the best way to dip my toe into a new burger joint would be to stay simple and classic. Bun was soft and good. Burger was cooked to order. The cheese is where you lost me! It very nearly ruined the sandwich, but I powered through it, wondering the whole time if maybe it was just me. It was too firm to be cheese whiz but too melty and weird to be what I consider good cheese. I almost thought it was Kraft singles. The menu doesn’t comment on what cheese it is. It was bloody awful. And apparently now I’m a cheese snob. Shamrocks, I will be back. And I’ll clarify the cheese situation. Because again, I can’t stress enough how awesome everything else was.

This place definitely sets out to be fun. I love it when a bar doesn’t get too conceited just because they serve craft beer. The live music was a pretty impressive cover duo for a wide variety of music. This bar is can serve a TON of people. There are like 30 tables plus standing room(in the front room). Although, at least while I was up front, it seems like more of a sit-down bar than a go-hard bar. There are two separate«back rooms» that can be rented out. Each of those has it’s own little bar so there’s less waiting in line. It’s street parking only, but it’s near some residential areas so you’re definitely able to find a spot somewhere.

We are from out of town and our daughter has taken us here before. When we arrived the place was packed and had over a hour wait to be seated. We decided to wait because the food is awesome and so is the beer. While we waited we notice that there were four open tables through out the dining area that had reserved signs on the and we wondered why they had no customers sitting at them. I counted 14 groups that can in and left because of the waiting time, there also seemed to be plenty of staff working. This was a Saturday night, so yes it could be busy, but I have seen it far busier. Sad to see that this was so miss managed. Don’t get me wrong, this place has a awesome atmosphere and great food, but a lot of people were upset at waiting and seeing so many open tables. We were there for 2 ½ hours and all the tables sat empty until people got tired of waiting and just sat down at them.

I sat at the bar and was greeted promptly. Upon inquiring about one of their tap IPAs, I was quickly offered a sample and a food menu, and I was on my way. The flavor of their staple, The Juicy Nookie, was incredible with the beef a perfect medium/medium-rare that left a pink note to the molten cheese in the center. This burger will reappear in my dreams, I am certain. Only disappointment — I expected it to be bigger and my tastebuds wished it were. The natural-cut fries were flavored well but weren’t as hot & crispy as I would’ve liked. Regardless, I prefer the natural, «skin-on» cut and devoured the entire basket. I will definitely return to Shamrock’s to watch sports and inhale their burgers. Next on my list is The Nookie Supreme. Indulge with confidence.

Shamrocks is our regular burger place and we’ve yet to find a reason to change that. The only caveat is to avoid it on Saturday nights. This is the only day of the week where there have been food and/or service issues. The place is packed to the gills, and it’s not worth the aggravation when we know we can get what we want any other day. Our one and only favorite appetizer is the bacon cheese curds. These things are way too easy to eat and taste great. They don’t have the typical salty flavor of curds, which one might not expect because of the addition of bacon. They are worth having every time. Another menu item I cannot avoid is the Bourbon Bacon Burger. I order it almost every time. I can’t help it. This burger is DELICIOUS! Will usually gets a lucy of some sort, especially the Paul Molitor(forgive me if I’ve misspelled his name; don’t know the guy). The boy got the teen burger, which is a double of the kids’ burger. Of course, he ate the entire thing. He might have to start working there washing dishes to pay for the amount of food he eats. If you’re on West 7th and looking for a fun, fabulous place to have unpretentious food, then stop into Shamrocks. I’d be surprised if you were disappointed. I’m picky about where I eat, and I’m well pleased here, every time.

A mixed bag. A total of 32 burgers on the menu! Of course, my buddy and I both ordered burgers. The hamburgers were great. The hand made fries tasted good… but they were cooked to holy hell, like over sized potato strings. The service was slow as molasses. The food and drinks took forever to come out. And the server was slow to get around and get back. Our server was a little weird and spacey. At one point she tried to get us to order more drinks or leave(I think) so she could turn the table. But her technique was really awkward, verging on rude. The trivia game was super irritating and WAY too loud! I definitely could live without the stupid trivia, especially since I was actually trying to have a conversation. I didn’t realize that the same two dudes run Shamrocks and The Nook, with the same menu(according to our server). Now I don’t need to bother with The Nook. –Daddy Maxx Retro

Any burger expedition in Minnesota has to include a visit to Shams, or the Nook… or both. We swung in on an early Saturday evening, and the place was already packed with a 45 minute wait. We knew it wouldn’t be that long and found a great spot to camp out while we waited. With some minor people dodging, we got to the lobster machine, ordered up a bloody and a beer and waited while some hockey was on. My girlfriend swears they’re the best bloodies ever, and they’re one of the few places where I’ll actually drink them willingly(and not just to cure a hangover). I’m also not above saying I don’t snatch some of the cheese cubes from the skewer of accessories you get with the bloody. Low and behold, 20 minutes later we’re seated… and somehow I resisted wasting all my food money trying to get a lobster out of the machine. I go for the Nookie Supreme and the woman orders up the Tex Mex and we opt for some chicken skewers as the app. Skewers arrive shortly after, even with the ranch and BBQ requested while giving the order. These little guys are delicious. Nice chunks of trimmed chicken boob on a stick, no fat pieces or anything, just lean good chicken and cooked perfectly, no too dry. A few minutes later, out are the burgers. Lets just say the Nookie Supreme, in all it’s glory, is a monster of a burger and it’s presentation is that of a challenger ready to give you a fight. The first bite is one of the best bites into a burger I’ve ever experienced. The special sauce oozes everywhere, your hands become covered, and the flavor goes beyond descriptive capabilities. I set the burger down, shed a few tears and then have to apologize to my girlfriend for the mess I’m about the create and the fact I probably won’t say a word or acknowledge her presence until I’m done. At some point through her awe she snaps a picture of me wrecking this burger, and I can say I’m proud of it. As good as the burger is, it’s matched equally by the fries. Handcut, fried to perfection and not overly salted. They are the perfect compliment to a top of the line burger. I did manager a couple bites of the Tex Mex burger, which was the burger of the month. A great burger between two Texas Toast slices, pepperjack cheese and some jalapenos mixed in. Again, a wonderful creation of a burger. Some notes of the experience, the service was fantastic. Our waiter checked in every now and again while not being intrusive to the experience and even provided extra napkins without needing to request them(hard not to see me needing them, but still). Parking wise, you’re parking on the street behind Shams and off 7th. Home Wild games, you do get the Sham Shuttle down W 7th to the X, and the place fills up for the game, so be warned(especially if it’s cold, it means a long walk from your parking spot, and a long wait). Saturday starting around 3 it starts getting busy, plan accordingly. And check the website for daily specials, there are a ton of them going on. Easily a top 3 burger with the Jiffy from BDP, and Manhattan 2.0 from Red Cow.

If you’re looking for a great burger. I know I am, always. Check out Shamrocks. You have to try the Nookie Supreme, medium rare, with french fries. It’s totally awesome. I don’t know if it’s the cheese, bacon, chipotle mayo, or the fresh burger. But it’s the best burger I’ve ever had. I would recommend shamrocks for a great dining experience to anyone.
