I love heading out to try a great local restaurant that really has flavor and is truly authentic to the country of origin vs having a place that is altered greatly for the MN taste bud– this is a great place for that, it is very similar to the food we ate in South Korea, you can easily stop in any time and find a place to sit — the service is nice and the prices are reasonable

Visiting for a few days, the bestie took my sister and I here. Its your standard Korean dining foods. We all ordered bibimbap and an order of the kimchi soup — vegetarian style. Man, it was firey hot with a kimchi taste with every bite. It came with a side of rice. The bibimbap was good. Standard. Didn’t blow me away and the portions weren’t that big so I was able to finish my bowl. The Korean sides that came before the meals were sparse and skimpy for three people to share. Service was as prompt as possible. I enjoyed the experience during my visit.

We went there for dinner on a Friday night. It was tasty food and all four of us finished everything. Service was good, but not outstanding. I had the bibim bop, which was fine. Four of us are well for about $ 50 plus tip(we all had water). Several good gluten free options.

I love this place! I’ve been eating here for over 8 years and is my favorite place for authentic Korean comfort food. My favorite dishes are always bi bim mari rolls, Dol Sot bibimpap, bulgogi, kimchi stew, etc. I’ve been to other Korean restaurants but this place has always been my favorite because they keep the food real simple. No over accessorizing or exaggerating, just real good comfort food. The staff are very attentive and food is served pretty quickly. I never leave the place without an order of Kimchi to go. Simply the best!

For a go-to, not so far place, Mirror of Korea isn’t so bad. I still have yet to find a dish that calls for me(lol!) But I gotta say… the best side dish are the pancakes! You can’t go wrong with them!

I’ve tried a few Korean Restaurants around the cities, and I ended up going here the most often. Partially because campus was right around the corner, but also because the food was always delicious. I spent a year in S. Korea and fell in love with the food and culture, and also it introduced me into spicy foods that tasted good, where the spice added to the flavor as opposed to making something more spicy and tasting more like vinegar, which is what I was accustomed to. The restaurant is small and simple, but that’s how restaurants are over in S. Korea. I’ve never had an issue with service, always get refills and extra kimchi(or other side items) if I request it. The food may not be as purely authentic as it was in S. Korea, it’s close enough that I keep coming back.

It’s a great place to have Korean food. Although I’m not much of a Korean fanatic I have to say it was very decent. Our server(who might be the owner) was extremely nice. I was there during the evening and it was quite full, but food was served quick and fresh. I recommend Mirror of Korea to everyone!

Restaurant was small but the food was delicious. The waitress was friendly and greeted us right away. She gave us some great options to chose from the menu since this was my partner and my first time here. Ma Pa Du Bu and Dahk Bul Go Gi was tasted great. They played Korean music so that was nice to listen to. The bathroom was clean which was.

Preface: I’m a first generation Korean American. I’ve been eating my Mom’s god-level Korean food all my life. Mirror of Korea is a simple, medium sized restaurant. The food is AUTHENTIC. If you are looking for some quality Korean food, come here! It really felt like I was eating in Korea again. The only negative I would mention is the building. It is just a bit outdated and old fashioned looking.

The restaurant was very small. The food was alright, but there are better Korean restaurants within the Twin Cities. I felt that the food was overpriced. We had the bibimbop, jap chae, and bulgogi. The service wasn’t anything special. In comparison to my other experiences with other Korean restaurants in the area, I’d have to say that my experience wasn’t as great as I would have liked it to be.

Minn. Stat. § 340A.404 Subd. 11. Makes it explicitly clear that we have the right to take our remaining liquor home with NO added restrictions. Good food, but overpriced for their portion and rocky service. I came here with three of my friends to introduce them to Korean food. We came in to have an early dinner and ordered a bottle of liquor. We order some of their meat dishes such as their bul gogi. The meat was wonderfully tender and deliciously seasoned. However, we noticed that in comparison to their lunch prices the restaurant seems to double their prices while maintaining the same portion sizes. When it came to the end of the meal, there was still half of the liquor left. Assuming that we were allowed to take the bottle of liquor that we paid for, we had our waiter go to re-seal it or place it in a paper bag. Instead our waiter said that he will«save it» for us, despite the fact that we may not return to the restaurant anytime soon before the liquor goes bad in the bottle. There was no choice for us to take the bottle of liquor that we paid for. Given what happened, we may as well take our business elsewhere.

I’ve only had the dol sot bi bim bop here, because it is so fabulous I can’t imagine not ordering it. This dish is my jam. It’s a rice dish with beef, veggies and an egg on top. It comes out sizzling in this hot stone bowl and about 8 little ramekins of tasty things to add to the bowl. Some items are fairly obvious, like potatoes and kimchi, others not as obvious but add them anyway. When you start adding your goodies to the bowl, be careful not to break the yolk of the egg. Then add the sauce. Don’t hesitate, drizzle it real good! Then use your spoon to break the yolk and mix it all together and eat! The hot stone will cook your egg. Service is friendly and prices are great. They’re closed on Tuesdays, which I find an odd day of the week to close, but whatever. It can get a little busy during the lunch rush, but they’re good getting you and out quickly. I highly recommend it!

The best BiBimBop I have ever had, hands down. I tried coming here a few weeks ago but evidently they are clsoed on Tuesdays. We came again this week and it was everything I dreamed it would be, and more. 8 dishes of sides, delicious bi bim bop, fast service, good prices. All of the sides they give are amazing and generously sized. The stone bowl temperature was perfect, not so hot that the rice starts to burn your tongue, but hot enough to cook the egg perfectly when you mix everything together. The flavors are perfect. The bi bim bop sauce is perfect. Very casual restaurant, low key, but not a complete hole-in-the-wall. Authentic. I will be back often!

The food here is very good although it can be a little expensive. Decent customer service. I came when it wasn’t really busy though and it was one of the older women. They give out a lot of sides which is really nice. I had the bi bim bap and it was really tasty. There isn’t much on the menu though. I would come here again if I had to, but I’m still exploring other Korean restaurants.

Great authentic Korean food! This family owned restaurant nails it when it comes to flavors and spices. The super fast and friendly service adds to a very enjoyable experience every time. It’s a causal restaurant, with a homely feel. There are pictures of the family babies and kids on the walls. Makes it feel like the food really comes from a home kitchen and the recipes are passed on from generations. Parking is easy to find, plenty of places on the side street and there’s a small parking lot in the back. I don’t know all of the official dish names but some of my must try favorites are the kimchi pancakes, crispy fried on the outside, and chewy on the inside. Their specialty dish, yook hwae, with thinly sliced raw beef with sesame oil makes me giddy every time I order it. This comes with an egg yolk on top, when you break it and mix it up, OMG! Flavor explosion. I feel like a wild animal just scooping raw meat into my mouth, and I don’t care. Soups are also amazing, try the beef spare rib soup with radishes and green onions, I could drink this broth everyday. Or be adventurous and get the beef tongue soup, the beef is insanely tender. If you’re there in the summer you’ve got to try the buckwheat noodles in a cold broth with beef and veggies, it’s so refreshing it’s like air conditioning for your whole body. All of the traditional dishes like Bulgogi and Galbi are great here as well, but don’t be afraid to explore other Korean fare. You won’t be disappointed. My only issue is that I eat all of the little fermented veggie dishes, because I cannot help myself I just love that stuff, then I have kimchi burps all day. I need to do a better job of carrying mouthwash around.

I’ve been to this place three times already and the waitstaff is so friendly. Today I went and had tofu sushi, which comes with about 15 million sides. SOMANYSIDES! Yum is all I can say. My fav here by far is Bul Go Gi, but that’s just about my favorite food anyway. Nestled away on snelling by hamline university this is the perfect place for midday lunch on the go or a romantic evening. 10 stars. :)

I’ve been coming to this family run place for over 20 years. Love the large poster board of loyal customer’s children photos that are now long since grown. Gives it a sense of nostalgia. The ratio of blackheads always eating here gives it a sense of authenticity. The food is hearty and comforting and I like this place over the few other Korean restaurants available in the area. The soups and stews are as authentic as any I’ve had internationally and the banchan are always fresh and house made. Service can be inconsistent but who cares when the food is good enough to carry the day.

Anyeonghaseyo! Hello! True to its title, Mirror of Korea, is truly a reflection of Korean cuisine. The menu covers a wide variety of authentic Korean flavors from Kim Bop to Ox tail soup. We had the Chef Special which included three choices: soup, Bulgogi, and a protein. We chose a spicy seafood soft tofu soup, beef bulgogi, and grilled mackerel. The soup was excellent and perfect to share among friends. The bulgogi was served with lettuce and made for a very authentic dish but was only decent because the sauce was generic and the beef overcooked. There were two mackerel served to us, and though it looked burnt on the outside, it was very moist and juicy inside. It was a little bit too salty at times as if it was not salted evenly. Food Verdict: It’s the experience of Korean cuisine without the expensive plane ticket.
