Never really enjoyed my time here. The regulars are strange and the service isn’t very inviting. The only time I’ve had a good time here is when I was in a Vball league and I didn’t have to talk to the bartender. The tall black hair goatee guy comes off as a prick.

Here’s a tip you’d have a better chance of getting served alcohol on a Sunday at church. This bar smelled funky, the bartender didn’t even acknowledge our existence, and all the«locals» mean mugged us the whole 5 minutes we were there. We escaped out the back through the smoke room. Needless to say, not a fan.

Gordie’s has cheap beer and friendly service. They survived and remodeled after a freak accident last May, and they now have an all new interior and an outdoor patio! This place also hosts a slew of sports leagues and such. It’s a neigborhood gem… although I liked it better before the remodel when it had the cool copper tiles on the ceiling. The character isn’t really there, but the service and price is right.

Pretty pumped to have found and easily gotten into a summer/fall volleyball league. At Gordie’s they have a sand pit out back. Pretty secluded, which is nice. The teams are fun and the beer is cheap. And they leave the lights on until 10 if there are people left that want to just play for fun. Pitchers of beer are $ 7.50. And apparently they have really good bloody marys. The bartender said they mix up their own spices and everything — and he couldn’t believe that I had never had one. Unfortunately, after I talked to him about this we were ready to play and I didn’t want to slam a bloody and then jumble around playing volleyball. Wouldn’t like to experience that — maybe if it was EXTREME volleyball or something I would give it a shot. I will definitely have one next week so I’ll update this post and give you the bloody review.
