The Stork Lady Sales happen a few times a year — I’ve been shopping at them since they were at the old Famous Barr location at Crestwood Plaza. They’ve recently moved to the old Franks Nursery & Crafts location at Kenrick Plaza. A few times a year they sell kids items and clothes or adult items. I have not been to an adult sale yet but I have shopped at a few of the kid sales and they’re awesome. I am able to fill out my son’s wardrobe with some very cheap good quality items — nothing is stained or ripped. From a $ 5 pair of Gymboree pants to an $ 8 Nautica coat, you can’t beat the deals. This year was the first time I’ve sold items at Stork Lady and I can’t say enough good things about that process. I had tons of children’s items to sell now that the baby is growing and I’m done having children. I attempted to sell an exersaucer online and it took about a month following up on e-mails and messages and reminding someone to pick up and even then, they bargained me down from my initial sale price. So I thought there had to be a better way and I piled everything up and decided to sell it there. The tagging process did take a bit of time. You’ll want to clear a few hours on your schedule to tag everything up. But after that, it was easy. I dropped off the items, someone went through them and then I could check online every day to see what sold. I managed to sell amost everything and they’re going to donate what’s left over. This is the way to get rid of your items. Sure you won’t make quite as much as if you sell it at a garage sale or online, but you’ll actually sell everything! They do a great job of marketing and the crowds they draw are great. Can’t beat it.
