The Green Goose is one of the more busier consignment shops in the St Louis area. The shop always smells amazing when you walk in. There is always something new and some great little find, every time you visit. Consigning with the goose is also good. I can honestly say, every time I bring things in at least half sells within the first few days. The only reason I didn’t give The Goose 5 stars is the commission structure. While I do consign and I am happy with sales, I do think the commission structure is a bit low for the item owner and a bit high for the shop. The other reason is the pricing. Sometimes there are things they do not know about and can underprice you. I had a beautiful piece of carnival glass I left to consign. Upon seeing in my item list on line the price they listed it for, I immediately emailed them stating it was extremely low. The item was worth $ 85 and was priced at $ 10. I explained I would purchase it for $ 10. I was told they would correct the item. Two days later it sold for $ 10. Other than that small issue, I’m happy with The Green Goose. They have a great selection of new and vintage Christmas items they just put out. I bought a few myself, hurry in before they are gone.

I appreciate the care that goes into the presentation of the items that are for sale. This store does a good job of using the available space to create a pleasant shopping experience. There are lovely items available for sale, many of their pieces are quite special. Some may find their prices to be a bit on the high side.

The best part about The Green Goose is the pricing. Stock in the store turns over quickly because the prices keep bringing customers through the door. This is the type of place you should be at weekly if you are decorating a room or home. Treasures await.

The Green Goose has gift items like brand new soy candles, Goose Poop (pepper jelly) and greeting cards. The also have vintage and re-​purposed household items. Everything I have seen at the Green Goose is in perfect used condition. If I was in this area of town more, I would be a regular shopper.

The Green Goose is a great consignment shop on Hampton. It’s a wonderful place to browse and the owner has a great sense of style — the shop changes character a bit every time that you go, depending on what’s recently arrived. It’s a great place to browse and to find good deals on high-​quality pieces of furniture or just weird, beautiful or quirky smaller items that brighten up a room.

What a neat consignment shop! We were looking more for dressers and not décor pieces so it was a quick trip, but definitely a place to go and hang out for a while, so you can make sure you do not miss anything!

The Green Goose is a very nice, neat and clean consignment shop which has a friendly staff and a large variety of eclectic merchandise from sets of china, glassware and furniture. Some of the merchandise there could be considered antique; some of the merchandise is not antique, but all is nifty and nice. Everything was neat and clean with no dust on any of the merchandise or glassware or glass cabinet doors.
I stopped by today to check it out based on several reviews and I like this shop a lot.
Method of payment is cash and credit card. I asked Robin, the owner, if they take checks and Robin said, «No checkola» That amused me. If you pay cash, you get a 4% discount that you do not get when you use a credit card, so if you want to purchase a large ticket item, bring a lot of cash, because if you don’t get a large ticket item, there are many smaller priced things that you just might want to buy.
The first thing that caught my eye was a nice little lamp with a glass shade which had roses on it. i decided immediately to buy it and give it to my mother because I new she would like it. She did like it.
After I looked around, I found a set of sherbert dishes which would be good for several other things besides sherbert like ice cream with different sauces poured over it or crème de menthe over vanilla ice cream. I bought because I figured that if I had not bought them, I would have been sorry later.
I plan on going back because it’s a nice place to browse and shop for different nick-​nacks or furniture as an addition for your home.

Very cute space w a side variety of nice merchandise. Everyone was nice and it was fun to look around. I ended up buying my favorite plates and bowls as well as the framed pictures hanging over my bed. Fair prices!

Thank you for your response Robin. some FACT-​BASED info for any potential customers.
1.This was NOT a MINOR flaw in the dresser. SOme scratches or a srew missing would have been understandable and no big deal. All drawers came out of tracks by bending open the tracks when any pressure was put on them. almost like they were made out of aluminum. I did not notice this until we tried to put clothes in the drawers.
Dresser was TOTALLY UNUSABLE.
Mistakes are made by businesses, but a good business rectify these mistakes.
2. I never said Robin would not pick up for 3 weeks (as she said in her response)
but 2 weeksl, and as i said she refused to give me a pick up date after that. I never yelled at her and communication was very clear (no return, essentially no re-​consignment.). At this point in the conversation of course, i was not happy and let her know this.
3. Lastly and most importantly which was not addressed in response, Robin specifically and fraudulently stated on the phone that «there is nothing i can do about a refund after an item is purchased because the money is already credited to the consigners account «and as above in my review, the Green Goose Consignment
agreement specifically allows Robin to do just that «give a refund» AFTER a customer
has purchased an item. THIS WAS NOT EVEN CONSIDERED OR DISCLOSED.
Maybe Robin would like to reconsider her errors here? At this point I’m only interested in a refund not a reconsignment. Everybody makes mistakes but its how you rectify and learn from these mistakes that shows your true colors. This is really not about the money, but about doing the right thing.

I’m a big fan of antiquing, thrifting, and consignment shops in general. So when I spied The Green Goose while cruising down Hampton one day, I knew I needed to make it a point to stop. Something about the rocking chairs out front beckoned me in, and I’m glad I made it a point to stop
Now, to begin, I do have to agree with another poster who stated that part of the shop is very ordinary. I saw several items that I could easily find in my grandmother’s home. But for every ordinary piece, there were equally just as many little treasures. I recently moved to south city from the suburbs and wish that I would have landed on this place sooner, especially for furniture. They really do get some great pieces in– couches, tables, chairs, rugs, lamps, you name it. If you’re new to St. Louis and looking for a great place to get some gently loved furnishings– this is your place. I also love that the owner seems to be pretty active within the local community. I have a friend who works for a nonprofit and once items have been in the shop for a certain amount of time without selling, they are donated to her nonprofit. Amazing.

This place has a decent selection and is definitely worth visiting to see what you can find. I just love that you will never know what you might find…

Okay I am just a little addicted to the Goose. I had another wonderful day and could have walked out with much much more but because I am not currently working– I have to use a little control. I got myself another wall sconce that looks just divine on a small wall – and a fabulous toile duvet and a nice large Tuscan vase. I love it here AND they were just getting a large shipment of a ton of furniture pieces. Cannot wait to go back soon.

The Green Goose is a fairly new furniture, décor and jewelry consignment shop on South Hampton in St. Louis Hills. I was impressed with the quality of the merchandise and bought several items on my last visit. The stock is more modern than retro. There is a mix of contemporary, country and kitchy. The store is clean and displayed well. So far, it doesn’t have the second hand smell and the staff are friendly and helpful. Will be back.

After reading the stellar reviews for The Green Goose on Unilocal,I was absolutely dying to visit once I finally moved to Saint Louis. My fiancé and I stopped by this week to check the place out and (hopefully) find some nice things to help us decorate our new apartment.
I will admit, we left empty-​handed. However, this had nothing to do with the lack of selection and more to do with our desire to wait and see what kind of things will come through here in the future. Judging from the facebook page for this place, they get new, unique goods all the time… so we don’t wanna jump the gun! I was impressed by the sheer number of fun and fairly-​priced items that were on display at The Green Goose. It made me wish for a bigger apartment so I could buy more.
I can’t wait to return and make some serious purchases. Before Unilocal,I had never heard of this place. I’m so glad I found it! I just know it will be instrumental in making our place feel like a real home.

This is how I will now view shopping for random accoutrements for my apartment. Walmart? Duck… Target? Duck… Goodwill? Duck… Green Goose??? GOOSED!!! Oh yeah.
Green Goose is what would happen if Goodwill and Pottery Barn had babies. Seriously. Or if Plaza Frontenac were to open up an Antique Mall. For reals! Sure, it’s a bunch of used, old crap. But it’s REALLY REALLY nice, old, used crap. It’s not as cheap as a garage sale or the dusty corner of the Goodwill Outlet, but it’s also way higher quality.
Like any thrift store, it’s hit or miss. You might go one day and leave empty handed, and then the next day exceed your credit card limit. That’s part of the fun, people. GG posts pictures on their Facebook page, too, when they get new items.
I was surprised by how reasonable most of the prices were. They had a wide variety of styles, too, which is awesome because we all have different themes going on in the interior design of our homes. Mine says «WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED IN HERE???»
So, to summarize:
1. Geese freak me out. They are dangerous creatures.
2. (Insert a joke about black sheep).
3. Come check out this place if you need a lamp. Or a couch. Or a coffee mug.

Ok, I’m going to be the lone dissenter here but this place kind of rocks & kind of sucks. The Good: Beautiful layout. The Bad: Everything in there looks like all of the impractical things you accumulate over the years but don’t really use. Need candlesticks circa 1997 — they have them. The furniture is mostly ugly with no style. It looks like the place where all the St. Louis Hills housewives dump their ordinary «last year’s style» home furnishings when they decide to redecorate. And I find the staff to be surly, so-​much-​better-​than-​you, condescending and stuffy. Compared to other, local consignment shops this place is only meh for me. I will take my budget dollars elsewhere.

Once you start shopping at The Green Goose you will realize how fun it is to shop at consignment stores and how many $‘s you can save. For me it has become a very repetitive behavior, I bounce back and forth between selling and buying at TGG.
I love the Love Seat I bought at TGG, it is so comfy for watching TV.
If you have a tight budget this holiday season, I highly recommend TGG for your gift shopping. I was there today and the selection was amazing. They had all types of framed art work, mirrors, decorative home accessories and so much more. You can even find Christmas decorations to make your own home festive for the holidays.
Another great thing about a consignment shop is that they can help you sell your «stuff». Selling through a consignment shop gives you more customer traffic then you’d get having your own yard sale. It also, allows you to actually get what the item is truly worth. When you take your items into TGG they’ll work with you on pricing your merchandise. Keep in mind they get a percentage when your item sells, but it is well worth it. After all, they did the merchandising and their sales associates provided the customer service.

I go to The Green Goose Resale every Tuesday at 2;00 p.m. I am selling everything. After 20 years you accumulate a lot of stuff. I had brand new items never out of the box. People give you stuff you never use or would want to use.
I have sold quite a few items. Its great to purge and make a profit! The owner, Robin is great. She is easy to talk with. She really likes her business and makes it an easy transaction.
If you need furniture or household goods, Check this place out. Robin gets in really good merchandise. I have a decent size check coming on Nov, 10^th. Martini money!
