Shur-Way Auto Body

I would not recommend these guys to anyone. They took over a month and a half to do what is considered to be a 9 day job. I had no rental car so time was of the essence. I explained that to them so they just strung me along for 6 weeks, constantly changing when they said it would be done. They refused to use the aftermarket parts I requested even though my adjuster had said it was up to me. They lost several spokes from my rims that cost $ 20 a pop to replace and didn’t accept responsibility or even apologize. And to top it all off they billed my insurance double the original quote which, in turn, more than doubled my insurance rate. Go somewhere else!

These guys are salt of the earth and really care about their customers. I wasn’t even ONE of their customers and one of their guys, Mike, went out of his way to put my mind at ease and I couldn’t be more grateful. My husband and bought a 2015 Subaru last month and after going through the whole process, we went to refinance the loan and was told there was a large «ding» on our title indicating the car had been in a pretty serious accident. Of course my husband and I were floored because this was not something that had come up in the sales process. In fact, we were told the vehicle had sustained some damage, but that it was less than $ 500, and were told to assume it was cosmetic. Once we started hearing more about the accident the vehicle was in, I became very concerned about the safety (we bought a Subaru specifically because safety is my #1 priority) of the vehicle and actually parked the car for a day and drove my husband’s car because the information scared me so much. So we called Shur-​Way to see how much it would cost to have the vehicle looked over and determine how safe it was. Mike was so nice. He put the car up on a lift and walked me through everything he was checking out. He determined there was some damage from an accident, but the body shop who did the repairs did a great job and the car was as safe as it was straight from the manufacturer. To top it off, he didn’t charge us anything! I couldn’t believe it. He easily spent half an hour looking over our car, a half hour he could have spent doing body work on another car and getting paid labor, but he didn’t. As he put it, «it’s a service he provides to the community». Mike and the whole team at Shur-​Way are top-​notch and deserve your business! They’ll be getting some delicious goodies from me to thank them for their help.

First time using them recently after a car accident, overall super helpful in answering my questions. Leanna is great! She has kept me updated by telephone and email every step of the way as I deal with my insurance company and made the whole process so manageable. Would definitely recommend this place and will come back here in the future.

These guys are great! I went in for a minor bumper repair, but with those things, you always worry it can turn into something big. However, they worked me in, and a few clips later, I was back on the road. Fast, friendly service! Note: I did call ahead and make an appointment to look at my bumper. They are pretty busy!

Maybe all the 5-​star reviews hyped up my expectations a bit too much, or maybe the folks here just didn’t like me, but there really wasn’t much friendliness involved in my experience here. They weren’t rude or anything, but just gave me a weird vibe that I didn’t feel elsewhere. Then again, I suppose their typical customer isn’t a skinny Asian med student looking to get minor damage fixed on a budget.
Speaking of budget, I came here for an estimate, which came out to be exactly twice as much as the one I got at Carstar. This is a popular place, with a two week wait for the next appointment, but it’s definitely not cheap. Perhaps they do amazing work, but for my 13 year old Toyota, I’m going to go with Carstar.

I am not one to write reviews, but I needed to share how good it feels to know I gave my $$ to a local business that has such great Customer Service.
I took my car in for some minor repair work ($ 250) but you would have thought I had taken it in for Thousands of dollars worth of repairs. They were prompt, courteous, friendly and overall wonderful to work with and happy to have my business.
Working in the Auto insurance business, I have dealt with a lot of body shops over the years (14 yrs), and I think many of them can learn a thing or two about running a business from these guys.
If I needed to get my car fixed again, you can bet I’ll come back here. Hopefully not in the near future ;)

I was absolutely shocked by how amazing the service here was. We came here after I put a solid dent in my boyfriend’s car. We planned to stop by a few places here in St Louis to get estimates. After one stop (shur way) we knew we did not need anymore based on the low estimate and the service we received. BUT IT GETS BETTER.
Here’s the spark notes:
1. They let us drop the car so we could use it up until sunday, since we went out of town monday morning (they close friday and saturday)
2. They were extremely kind and accommodating when we went for the estimate. Which was already on the low end. My boyfriend had put a smaller dent in another part of the car, and when I asked them to take it out of the estimate (He didnt want to pay for that at this time, it was just me paying for the damage I had done) they said no problem. They recommended we do it because the paint would look better and they could not warranty the repair wihtout fixing everything, but did not push it at all.
THE BEST PART is when we went to pick up the car …
3. They charged us about 100 less then what the estimate said… BUT THEY DID EVEN MORE than they included in the estimate
a. They had actually painted over the smaller dent, despite us not paying for it. They even gave us the warranty on the repair!
Overall, amazing service, amazing repair, and low price! (1400 for a repair I was told would be 1500 – 2000 by autobody shops back home) We plan to refer all of our friends who need car repairs and HIGHLY recommend Shur Way to everyone!

they do fine perfect-​restore work. but I needed to save money and get a down and dirty fix that they would still stand behind. Got it! fastened that bumper back on, touched it up and off I went in an hour!

Had the tow truck drop my car off here after I was hit by a drunk driver. My car should have been totaled, however when my insurance carrier found out that I took my car there they had confidence that they would be able to fix up my baby good as new!
And they were right! This is a family owned business that does extremely well and treats their customers like VIPs!
I was kept informed every step of the way by the Office Manager Leana, she is AWESOME!
Very honest and reliable shop that I highly recommend! Dealing with them was a pleasure!

This is a great body shop, it was recommended by my go-​to repair guy and I have had great work done by them on more than a few times. First of all, their strength is that they are a very practical and pragmatic shop, they do what they need to do and don’t oversell you, in fact, they often come up with a best case alternative. There is a touch of south side good old boys here, but everyone treats you not only in a helpful and respectful way, but they also go the extra mile to make the job right.

Went here after I was referred by Midas in Big Bend. My front driver side door wouldn’t open and no one had been able to tell me what was wrong. My dealer wanted to charge me 90 bucks only for the diagnosis!
Well I brought it to Shur-​Way. They were very busy that afternoon but the nice woman at the front still managed to squeeze me in. I told her it was only day off so she got it looked at for me. They figured out what was wrong but didn’t charge me. They had to order in parts so I was going to have to come back. I was given an estimate and it was very reasonable. In fact, they accidentally miscalculated what the cost would be but it was in my favor and since it was their mistake they honored that price. I came back and it took about as long as they said. My car was fine, the price was far cheaper than it would have been at my dealer and I received excellent, attentive service. The office ladies even kept offering me snacks and drinks while I waited.
Bottom line: this is a great place. They do great work, the staff is hospitable, and the prices are fair. I will definitely bring my car back here and will recommend them to anyone I know.

My GF has taken her car here many times and always had great results. The folks not only know their stuff, they will take the time to review options with you frankly and honestly. A pleasure to deal with — recommended!
