I’d give 5 stars, but they close too early. 5pm isn’t enough time for people just getting off work to stop by. Pita Pit falafels were one of my favorite meals while stationed on the west coast in the Navy. The guys here were so sweet & chopped up the falafel for me just like I’ve always had. It was delicious! They made my day! If you haven’t tried falafel with tzatziki sauce you MUST!

Good sandwich shop with great customer service. Be on the lookout for the groupons. They have them quite often. I probably would come back even without the groupon even tho Im not really a lunch meat type of person anymore. Chicken breast wrap: 3⁄5 Prime rib wrap: 3.5÷5

I bought a Groupon to use on my trip to Saint Louis. Needless to say I was never able to use it. They had just recently changed their hours to close t 5pm we got there at 5:03 and they wouldn’t help us. Then the Unilocal said it was open on Sunday and we showed up and they were closed. Very upset I wasted this groupon.

Came here when I was downtown for jury duty. It’s Subway for pitas but instead of having a full assembly line, the workers just try to guess what people have ordered and can’t seem to figure out a way to make the awkward store layout work. You order, then wait for someone to call you to ask white v wheat pita, what you got, and what toppings you want. Don’t look for labels or a clear line of sight to choose your toppings– you’ll be trying to shout your order over the other people doing the same thing at the same time. I just yelled out words I’d heard other people say and toppings I assumed would be available for a pita. The gyro pita tasted good and I got a lot of food but it was too much hassle in the door for me to plan another trip here.

I have nothing good to say about this place. Stopped for lunch a few months ago because I was working in the area. Why is this place even still open? They were out of Half the stuff I wanted to order. Service was so nonchalant they might as well tell you to your face«please go next door, we ain’t about shit in here». Ugh! never again.

I’ve attempted to go to this location 3 times during their«open» hours and there’s never anyone there and there’s never a note posted with a reason why they’re closed.

Like other people have said, it’s subway with pita. My gyro pita was good, but without anything else it was over $ 7, which seems like a lot considering what you get. It was okay, but I won’t go back. Bummer, too, because it’s just a block from work.

Stopped by for lunch on Friday, a little past 11:15 before there was any sign of a lunch rush. Even then, the service seemed a bit slow. In any case, I got a hummus pita(on wheat) and used a coupon for free chips – the total was still a little over $ 6. Without the chips, I probably would have felt shafted. The employee who made my pita was a bit stingy on the hummus, so I loaded up on the vegetables. The pita itself was on the thin side, so I knew to expect it to break apart while eating. Tasted fine. I won’t go out of my way to return here, especially not without another voucher for free chips or something on the side, but if a group of friends decided to go, I wouldn’t complain.

I was here earlier this summer for lunch. Just a Subway knockoff when I was hoping it would be similar to Roti. Do NOT order the falafel! Just a dried out, over-processed attempt at it. With Planet Sub across the street and Sauce on the Side around the corner I don’t know how this place keeps getting foot traffic.

Service is slow and they seem to have a hard time keeping menu items stocked. Never again.

Been to a many Pita Pit in many states. This one served me my best experience to date. Staff friendly, restaurant in clean shape, and food was excellent. Had the black bean pita, with a side of hummus and pita chips. Everything tasted fresh, and was prepared perfectly.

Tip: –metered parking is enforced on the weekends –come on wednesdays for 99c double meat Service was friendly. I like how the guac and hummus are at your disposal at no extra cost. I added banana peppers with my gyro and that didn’t pair well. It masked the flavor of the gyro meat. Don’t think I’ll be back for a while.

I needed a quick meal and wanted to try somewhere new so I stopped in for lunch. This place is a little confusing in terms of the protocols associated with ordering and getting your food but it is worth trying to figure it out. I went for the chicken souvlaki — nice sandwich all around. I opted for the plain(as opposed to wheat) and instantly recognized the style from some of the middle eastern places where I’ve eaten — not like a gyros pita but larger and thinner. Add some hummus, lettuce, tomato, feta and tzatzki sauce and it was pretty dang good! The comparisons to Subway rang true for me as so frequently commented on by others.

I absolutely love Mediterranean food, and I honestly don’t mind if it is cheap and not authentic. If Subway was a pita chain, it would be Pita Pit. We were waiting in line for a while since there were thousands of students in downtown St. Louis for the Urbana Missions conference trying to eat at the few eateries in downtown. I got the gyro pita, but when you get to the actual line for the wraps, you can have them put whatever vegetables and condiments in your pita as you want. I got mine with all the usuals: gyro, lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber and tzatziki sauce. It was a pretty hefty burrito-looking pita. The flavors were decent, and it filled a hungry woman. Now I just wish they had a Pita Pit in suburban Atlanta so I could frequent it for lunch. [2 of 100]

Usually see Pita and think Middle Eastern food. There is a touch of that here, but it’s also just a wrap place. They do have a falafel sandwich, which was OK. No tahini sauce and no Lebanese hot sauce. They do have Ranch dressing; which I didn’t have, of course. Another thing that disappointed me was that the pita broke all apart about halfway through. That made it a lot messier than it should’ve been. What I didn’t like at all was the way they have the restaurant set up. You look at the menu and you have to pay up front. A lot of places do that, but then they don’t do the made-to-order sandwich thing, where you can’t get any extra ingredients because you didn’t already pay for the extras. Plus they had to stations and I got sent behind people with large orders and was made to wait unnecessarily. You have to go to some places a few times in order to figure them out and that’s why I’ve giving this place the benefit of the doubt for right now. Only thing is I’m no longer in St Louis, so I don’t know if I’ll be able to give them a second chance. One day…

Nice healthy option!!! I always ALWAYS leave here fulfilled and my calorie watching/weight watchers is NEVER threatened here. Love this place. However –DONOT love the wait times and limited seating… ever, which is always a consistent problem… The layout is very poor between ordering and picking up your sandwich and requesting your toppings, etc. Not fluid movement at all…

Given the number of people usually in line, it’s kind of surprising to only see(as of this writing) nine reviews. When it opened a few months ago, supplanting the independently-owned Balada’s, lines were long, snaking around the inside of the restaurant. Exacerbated by the inevitable bottleneck created by grilled-to-order items, guests could usually be seen waiting in an unreasonably long mass. Whether it actually took a long time to get through the queue or not I can’t say: I wasn’t ever willing to deal with it. Skipping ahead a few months, things have improved and getting something here is about as easy as it was at Balada’s(except you pay at the beginning of the line). The similarities between the two restaurants are present in a few other ways as well. There’s still a soda fountain(located near the lines and serving Coke products), the fare’s still of the«fresh, quick» variety, there’s still not really enough seating(Pita Pit is fine for pairs/couples but offers surprisingly few tables for more than two people)… As replacements go, it’s hard to complain. The experience is pretty basic. Orders are placed at the registers, to your left as you enter from 9th and Pine. The order’s assigned to one of two stations and you move there to have your pita made. Grilled onions, peppers, meats, egg are cooked to order while your choice of wheat or regular pita bread is prepped and stuffed with your choice of other ingredients and sauces. It’s all wrapped up in a travel-friendly way. I found the«non-sandwich artist» pita makers to be generous with the toppings, and there are plenty of vegetarian and standard combinations. Sauces aren’t a must but an option that I’d strongly recommend; those little 2oz cups with plastic tops are available to get a side of one or more if you don’t want to commit an entire meal to one flavor. Pita Pit, on the whole, is fine. Basically a sandwich option, on the surface, it’s really no better nor worse than any of the Subways, or Planet Sub, or Quizno’s… depending on the particular flavor you’re looking for on a given day and where you’re coming from. *Note: Meeting a friend here? Parking isn’t the best. There’s no dedicated lot on the block, but there are meters nearby. *Note: Value-wise, I’d rate this as «fair». It’s far from a steal, but prices aren’t unreasonable when compared with other outlets. Expect to pay almost $ 2 for a regular-sized drink + chips and 10% in dining tax.

Yay for Pita Pit! This fast food joint just opened yesterday and they are open till 8pm on weeknights! True, it is a franchise/chain, but I’m giving 5 stars for staying open on weeknights and the tasty pita I just ate! The Pita Pit franchise is modeled similar to the Subway franchise. First, you pick white or wheat pita. Then you chose from a list of meats and veggies. They have a good selection ranging from lunch meats, tuna, falafel, hummus, etc. Then you pick from the fresh toppings which includes various veggies, sauces and cheeses. I got a falafel pita for $ 5.49 and added hummus, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, feta cheese and tzatziki sauce. This baby was stuffed full and wrapped up into a jumbo burrito-like formation. Of course I didn’t expect the falafel to be an authentic replica, it’s fast food, but it was still quite tasty. Chips and cookies are available and they are open for breakfast at 8am on weekdays. Welcome to downtown Pita Pit, I hope you continue to stay open on weeknights so I can get a quick healthy option for dinner!
