One Eyed Willie’s

we’ve been here a few times and normally the bartenders are extremely sweet and to be honest that’s why we keep coming. tonight the bartender was awful. she didn’t talk to anyone and she seemed mad to be here. we were two of about 15 other people, and we have to wait 10 minutes AT THE BAR for drinks? she’s too busy wiping down empty tables at 9pm to interact with customers i guess. it’s disappointing. if «our bartenders «aren’t working next time we come, we won’t be staying. worst experience we’ve ever had here by far. i wish all their employees had the same standard.

Talk about a juxtaposition. Stuck like an undiscovered Darwinian fossil way back in the southeast corner of a barren, decrepit mall off telegraph road just north of 270.
One might find Amelia’s Earhart’s Plane there, or jimmy Hoffa. You have to look in the far right hand corner once you drive in.
And yes, it’s right after Walmart, yet BEFORE you get to «Jack in box» and the «Café Telegraph» et al.
So despite its obscurity … Great place … Great Food
I had set the bar low. Because well, we all know where we live, and now, where that place is at.
I always do a lot of research.
We had the app shrimp, as promised, huge, thick, nicely battered (though a bit overly). About a $ 1.00 a piece. I don’t know fellas, and felines, is that too much? They were huge, came with two batters options two sauce options. Again, I dunno? If I were in the CWE, it’d be a bargain.
Ordered 5 pounds of wing for $ 40. FANTASTIC.
My best buddy has a fondness for the grape.
So we enjoyed that and the aforementioned crustaceans, while ruminating about those migrants in the Mediterranean & have NO idea
how hard the crossing can be when one doesn’t have an «A Suite» ocean view. Ahh, noblesse oblige. (And yes, contribute $$$, just have to keep some humor or I’ll cry).
Only beef:
Bartendress, Whitley, stole our hearts and minds with her looks, demeanor, and well, everything.
Then she proceeded to drink four «three fingered full»
Rocks Glasses of tequila with the slimes who came next to us. Please don’t get me wrong, I love an underage bartender who engages patrons though it comes with the territory: ogling, leering, horny patrons. I would. Just not prefer it to not interfere with my $ 160+
two blokes lunch in south county.

We visited because of a Groupon and luckily we didn’t pay full price. The service was very slow and the nachos were missing the Pico de gallo and sour cream and had very little chicken on them. If not for a groupon, we would have sent the nachos back.
The prices are also cheaper on the website than they are when you get to the restaurant.

The atmosphere at Willies is awesome with pleasant servers. The food is amazing and you can tell its home cooked, not some frozen food microwave joint. The bar specials are great with a free pizza happy hour every Friday. You have to try the wings. It’s a great local spot to try! Pool tables and darts along with beer pong nights.

My friend and I spent more than $ 75 at this joint — AND performed backup vocals/​instrumentals free of charge with a local live band on a slow Sunday night. After purchasing a bucket of domestic beers near the end of the night, however, the manager snatched 2 unopened Budweisers off our table while we were loading up music equipment. When we finally figured out what happened and confronted him, he mumbled something about liquor laws and turned his back.
Note he never introduced himself, never thanked us for coming, never warned us that they were closing soon or that we needed to finish our drinks. Poor form indeed — enough for us to never come back.
