History

Established in 2012.

We are completely owned, operated, and backed by local comedians who have promoted and performed at underground shows throughout the STL area for years. Our club was furnished using up-​cycled materials, and our sponsors and vendors are all local — most of them right here on Cherokee Street.

I give them props for trying. I know getting up there takes guts and I really respect that they are trying to do something they enjoy. But I think other than the people I was with this was basically a few friends hanging out. There were a couple comics with promise but they are still in the practice stage (which is understandable). There were a few that simply… need to find another calling. I don’t have regrets, but I won’t be back. I can hang out with my own friends in a basement and have about the same experience if not funnier.

This place was pretty disappointing. A plywood bar, car seats for seating, and poor comedy is all I have to say. However, the staff were very friendly and welcoming. I give two stars because this place has potential and it’s good to see a group of people being passionate about something they all love to do. I may check it out again once this place has time to grow, but I wouldn’t plan my evening around it.

I just went here and I really liked it. Cheap drinks, small room, big laughs. I really hope this place continues because it can really develop into something cool.
