Always a good experience, a little confused with the recent decision to not place lemons out to enjoy with my ice tea. I was told this had something to do with health or restaurant inspections and not allowing this anymore. I haven’t noticed the absence of lemons anywhere else, so either Jason’s is way ahead of the regulations or there is more to this. Either way, I am still a big fan… and if you want a slice of lemon for your tea they are more than willing to bring that to you.

Let me start this review out by telling you a fun fact… I am a fat man. Being a fat man I like fat man things. Fat men, like me, like good food, free ice cream, and free muffins. Jason’s Deli has all of these things. I love being able to swing by Jason’s Deli to grab a better than average sandwich or a huge baked potato. They have a nice salad bar, if that is your thing(not mine). The ice cream and muffins are nothing to write home about, however I love that they are free. The staff always seem to be in a great mood and extremely nice. Pricing is not too bad either. Overall, I give this place a solid 4 out of 5 stars, because I am a fan!

FRENCHONIONSOUP. Just get it. Ask questions later. REUBENTHEGREAT. A rare case in which a food item lives up to its name. Generous with the meat and sauerkraut. BIG sandwich. It’s a jaw clicker. FRUITCUP. The dip. Amazing. The strawberries were very fresh and sweet. My cantaloupe and apples tasted like the cutting board didn’t get wiped off after some potato chopping or something. It wasn’t a strong taste, but still there. All in all, though, I’d rate the fruit cup a 4 out of 5.

My favorite salad bar. Potatoes are also great. Always clean organized and fresh. Everything is homemade. Free crackers, bread, pickles and ice cream with every meal.

Jason’s deli is, in my opinion, by far the best deli in Kirkwood. No madder what you order, it will hit the spot. In addition to the far superior sandwiches and soups, their soft serve and salad bar is completely free and delicious. There food quality and service is definitely worth the mildly steep pricing. The real question is not where to eat there, it should be how much better can a deli get?

I’m not one for chain restaurants, however, this place offers exceptional service and very good quality foods. The staff are so friendly and very accommodating. The prices are excellent, and the food is pretty good. They have a very good selection for a salad bar including A quinoa and mango salad which is scrumptious. Plus you get free softserve ice cream with the salad bar, and who can say no to that?!!

I recently met a fellow Unilocaler for lunch at Jason’s Deli. Since I had never been, I checked out the online menu(as I usually do when going somewhere new) and was happy to see that it closely resembled McAlister’s Deli, which is another casual place I really enjoy. The menu consists of sandwiches, salads, wraps, pastas, potatoes, and a decent salad bar. Jason’s is conveniently located in a plaza right off Highway 44 and Lindbergh. When we first arrived at 1:00, the restaurant was fairly busy. However, by the time we left around 2:30, we were one of just a few tables remaining. All of the employees here were very friendly and helpful. My only gripe, and it’s a small one since I later learned the cashier was new, is that she neglected to tell me there would be a $ 3.50 up charge for one of my food items. It was good though, so I got over it pretty quickly. Moving on to that food… I noticed on the online menu that the muffaletta sandwiches had their own special little designated corner. I also noticed all the Unilocal pictures of these sandwiches. Can you guess what I got? Ding, ding, ding!!! Correct! The turkey muffaletta. The quarter size is more than plenty and you can pair it with items such as chips, fruit, soup, or the salad bar to make it a meal. I opted for baked chips and subbed a cup of caprese salad for one of the other items… That was where my up charge came in. My friend also got the quarter turkey muffaletta, but chose to eat it without any sides. The sandwich was great! I loved the melted cheese and generous amount of olives that came on it. The caprese salad was also good and was seasoned well. We both skipped the free ice cream and mini muffins since we were watching our girly figures and decided to go walk off some of our lunch around nearby downtown Kirkwood. I would definitely return to Jason’s. I love low key, easy, healthy places. Next time, I’d probably try out the salad bar, and once again, try to resist the free ice cream. :)

The muffaletta and salad bar is a great option for the Managers special; costs about $ 8 bucks. After you order, this is almost a full service restaurant without the hassle of waiting for some waiter/tress to get done with their smoke break before bringing your check! Downside is that the kids sandwich, like most places, has terrible cheese. Some type of knock-off velvetta. This is a great place for adult food, lunch and is pretty empty at dinner time which we find is a positive quality.

Wow. The name is Jason’s Deli, but it is much more than a deli. The menu includes a wide variety of items, ranging from pastas to sandwiches to wraps. I got the zucchini garden pasta. It was absolutely delicious! With bow tie pasta, zucchini, artichoke hearts and asiago cheese, it was a perfect dinner. My PIC had a pastrami sandwich and said it was very good as well. It came with a choice of chips or baked chips. I was unsure of my choice, and they were nice enough to warm up a sample for me. The place was very clean, the staff very friendly. Jarod helped us, and was so nice and funny! I will definitely go back!

I went with the Santa Fe chicken sandwich. It was really good and I received it quick. My friend got the salad bar and made the comment that he would for sure be coming back. My only complaint is the ordering system at the front counter. We stood in line for a couple minutes only to be shuffled to another line once we got to the front. A sign would solve this problem. Really not that big of a deal but an easy problem to fix.

Just had lunch from Jason’s Deli, food was ok, I ordered the Cuban Panini sandwich and the Organic Blue Tortilla Chips and Guacamole. It was good –much better than Jimmy John’s by a long shot. But I didn’t think it was great, my sandwich was $ 7 and they require a $ 20 minimum order for delivery so that is coloring my review. Were I to have visited in person, it would have seemed a better value. The food is good, but I cannot say it is a good value. Don’t get the chocolate chip cookies, they taste far too institutional. Ok, update. I wanted to add that while not 100% enamored with Jason’s Deli, it is s-o-o-o-o much better than Jimmy John’s –where all the sandwiches taste the same.

I love this place! Really Good Food is what the sign says on the wall. They got it right;) Friendly staff, fresh food, unique salad bar, nice décor, and reasonable prices are what I found on my first visit to Jason’s Deli. This place will be around a long time if they keep up with these current standards! Highly recommend!

Jason’s is a welcome new deli in the St. Louis scene! I’d never heard of it before seeing it reviewed on Unilocal, though I’m in the area often and live pretty close. One day after running an errand, my husband and I stopped by for dinner. There are a few things that, in my opinion, set Jason’s apart from other similar eateries: 1. The staff. I couldn’t believe how friendly and helpful they were. We were greeted enthusiastically, and someone took quite some time to show us the menu. Throughout our visit, we were treated with a high level of hospitality, from ordering to people clearing plates. It was really apparent that they try to hire friendly and outgoing people here. 2. The salad bar. They have a huge salad bar with a ton of options! Lots of veggies and toppings, plus muffins, pudding/desserty type items, salads(like bean salad), and more. You can get an unlimited salad bar or add a side salad to other meals, which is one good sized bowl and one trip. 3. Free ice cream!!! They have soft serve chocolate and vanilla(plus swirl), cones and even chocolate sauce. It was delicious. They have a gluten free menu and a vegetarian menu, both with lots of choices. I appreciate places that make it hard for me to choose. I ended up with the manager’s special, which is like a «you pick two» with different options. I chose a half veggie sandwich with a side salad. Both were huge! I loved the salad bar. The salad was more than I could eat. The ranch dressing was great, which is a must for a salad bar. The sandwich was also big. I got it on foccacia bread, which I would not get again — too big/bready for me, plus it was a bit stale. But the veggies and everything else was good. My husband also enjoyed his meal. We’ll be back for sure. And — they deliver for those days when you just can’t get out of the house!

I’m a fan of Jason’s Deli: any way, any how. Recently, I went back to St. Louis to visit my family and spend Thanksgiving with them and while I was visiting, we went to have lunch at a Jason’s Deli that had just recently opened up in the strip mall next to Hobby Lobby off of Lindbergh Rd. We came in the day before Thanksgiving when it was snowing for lunch and as soon as we walked in, we were greeted by a lady working there. The setup for this particular Jason’s is a longer, somewhat-narrow rectangle. The cashiers and prep stations behind glass are on the left side when you enter, the salad bar and fountain drinks are towards the back and the rest is seating area, mostly tables and chairs, but there’s also a set of tables against the wall with banquette seating. After we’d had a few minutes to look it over, we ordered. I got the half sandwich and soup: mediterranean wrap and the seasonal beef stew, and my mom and dad split a club sandwich. In short order, our meals were delivered and we dug in. My wrap was extra full of turkey and hummus, and the soup was nice and hot too. My parents seemed to enjoy their sandwich and after my mom got a large soft serve ice cream for us to share. It was nice and nice to watch the snow falling outside(luckily most had melted the next day). Twice while we were eating different employees came by to check that our meal was to our satisfaction and everyone seemed cheerful. I really like Jason’s Deli for both the food and the people: it’s all good. I’ll definitely come back — especially since it’s a lot closer to the house than the Jason’s Deli in Chesterfield.

I’m so happy to finally have a Jason’s Deli closer to home! I love this place! It opened last Monday, and I’ve already been three times. Brief background: Jason’s Deli started in my hometown of Beaumont, Texas in 1976. So, like any St. Louisan fan of Ted Drewes, I’m likely a bit biased in reviewing this place as it is from my homeland. :) What to expect: Don’t walk in expecting this to be an amazing NY-style deli. Jason’s Deli is a chain that offers soups, salads, wraps, sandwiches, pasta, and potatoes. The food you get will be along the lines of what you would get at McAlister’s Deli. However, in my opinion, Jason’s is better. Menu items I love: –Muffaletta– Depending on the restaurant and location, this beloved New Orleans sandwich is spelled and pronounced in varying ways. The pronunciation probably should be something like«muff-uh-let-uh.» However, in Beaumont, it’s pronounced«muff-uh-lotta.» Yes, I know that doesn’t make sense, but it’s not any stranger than calling Bellefontaine«Bell-fountain.» On my first visit to this location, I even heard one of the employees call it a muff-uh-lotta. I guess it’s in the training manual. :) Jason’s has a more traditional muffaletta made with ham and salami, and they also have a turkey muffaletta. I get the one made with turkey.(I know, I know. That’s crazy.) Both styles are served warm and contain olive salad and melted provolone cheese. If you aren’t familiar with the muffaletta, be sure you order the ¼ size. It’s definitely enough for one person. –Salad bar– Jason’s has an all-you-can eat salad bar. If you want more after your first bowl, just ask for a clean bowl. If you want meat(other than bacon) on your salad, you’ll have to pay extra for a side of chicken salad, tuna salad, roasted turkey, smoked turkey, grilled chicken, or salmon. The chicken salad is made with almonds and pineapples, and I love it. :) My salad bar favorites include red and yellow bell pepper slices(no green), hummus, pasta salad, Kalamata olives, stuffed green olives, feta cheese, mustard potato salad(which, to me, does not have a strong mustard flavor), garlic toast, mini cornbread muffins, sunflower seeds, and granola. –Manager’s Special– This is a great deal: half of any sandwich(excluding the muffaletta), served with chips and your choice of fruit, a cup of soup, or a side salad bar(i.e., one trip to the salad bar with a smaller bowl). –Freebies– Jason’s used to serve all sandwiches with pickles. At some point, they quit doing that. They must have realized that some people just don’t like pickles. However, if you love pickles, worry not. They are on the salad bar, and they are free to anyone who wants one. Also complimentary from the salad bar are the mini muffins(cornbread and gingerbread) and crackers(which include graham crackers and Doctor Kracker pumpkin seed cheddar). Those cornbread muffins are delish. Jason’s even has free chocolate and vanilla soft-serve ice cream. It’s not the best ice cream in the world, but IT’S FREE. If you do the receipt survey, at least currently, you also can score a free cookie on a future visit. The peanut butter cookies are awesome. Things I don’t love: I haven’t been super impressed with the soups or pasta. The one exception is the beef stew, which they serve seasonally. It’s probably not as good as your grandma’s, but for something that I’m pretty sure comes out of a bag, it’s pretty good. Kirkwood vs. Chesterfield: The Kirkwood location is smaller than the one in Chesterfield. They do not have any individual booths. Instead, they have long booths along two of the walls. The booths are set up with tables, and regular chairs are on the other side of each table. All other tables in the restaurant have two chairs each. If you are dining with a large group, I imagine you could join several tables together. Final notes: Jason’s has a kid’s menu and is great for the family. They have vegan and vegetarian options. The restaurant is NOT gluten-free, but if you are gluten-sensitive, they have a few choices for you. Ask the staff for more details. If you’re into this kind of restaurant, you and your friends surely can find something you like. If none of the sandwiches are speaking to you, you can have them make a custom sandwich for you.(However, if the sandwiches literally are speaking to you, you might want to see a doctor.)
