I LOVE Hu Hot. Never had a bad experience. Only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because I think they should have more variety with the meant selection. Other than that this is one of my favorite places to eat. Food is delicious, u can get flavoring in your favorite soda, they have menu items, staff is friendly, and they’re clean.

Love going here and being able to make my own creations. It’s kind of hit and miss with the interaction with the chefs, sometimes they’re very engaged and other times you can barely get a smile and that’s the reason I’m leaving four instead of five stars. The price is very reasonable, especially since it’s all you can eat. We were sad to find out they didn’t offer fried rice anymore but they said there wasn’t enough demand. Still all in all its a place I enjoy frequenting.

Neat concept and good food. The lack of being able to choose rice in addition to noodles is the one reason Hu Hot doesn’t get 5 stars. If you go there for a birthday you will get a free desert off the menu. Also be aware of reviews that are not familiar with how meat is prepared at a Mongolian BBQ. Shaved and frozen is the norm. As for sauces, I recommend the Khans favorite.

This is my first time here. I had high hopes, they were crushed and stuck to the sticky stuff that adhered to every surface in this place. This is a Mongolian BBQ place. You grab a bowl, select from solidly frozen clumps of meat and then move on to very odd noodles. After the noodles you get to the fake crab meat, squid that tasted like old tennis shoes that were worn by a person with foot odor problems, and mussels. I didn’t dare try the mussels after the squid experience. After that stuff you get to what looks like a regular salad bar, except I wouldn’t eat anything in this place until it has seen in excess of 300 Fahrenheit. You then move to the«sauce» bar. This is a buffet of about 30 different liquids, one that had ice cubes floating in it?! Another sauce container had what looked like a large growth in the inside rim. The area around and in between the sauce containers was splattered with all of the sauces. The handles to the little ladles were stickier than a movie theatre floor after a star wars trilogy. Overall, this place has potential, it’s just sooo dirty. I’m not too sensitive to dirty restaurants but this place is baaaadddd. I say avoid.

I wanted to like HuHot more since my nieces were so excited about it. They really love it and wanted me to also. I had fun but the food was just OK. I think if I went back knowing what I know now I could probably come away with a better dish/experience. I didn’t get the mix of sauces correct and was unhappy with the flavor. That really is the downside of this concept. It’s fun to go through and fill your bowl with the ingredients and watch them cook them up, but until you figure out which sauces and how much to include it’s kind of a crap shoot. I guess I could have gone back and gotten a new dish which one of my nieces did when she didn’t like her first creation, but I was too hungry and lazy.

I’m not sure how I haven’t written a review for HuHot yet. This has been a place our whole family has loved for a couple of years now. Since you choose how much of what to put into your bowl to be cooked, I would recommend not filling up too much on the first trip so you are not too full for a second trip. One of the things I love is trying out a couple of different concoctions.

My husband and I wanted to try something we had never had before and we luckily came across HuHot. We were not disappointed. $ 12.00 for all you can eat is such a great bargain. You pick your meat, noodles, veggies and sauces and watch as they grill it all together for you. My plate turned out so yummy. If you are unsure about combinations they have suggestions. The staff were quite friendly and helpful too,

I feel like my fiancé and I eat here at least once a month. The all you can eat mongolian stir fry is a great experience. The beef and veggies are great and the sauces really make the dish. My only suggestion is for the staff to keep an eye on thawing meat, as when it is no longer cold it could become a health hazard to the customers. During busier times need to keep a closer eye on the food containers to make sure they’re not empty. The sauces can be difficult to use. The ladles are too long and the handles on them are often sticky and messy from previous customers. Great place overall

The kids love the idea of mixing their own bowls of food. You pick a protein, noodles if you want, veggies and a sauce. The meat and veggies are fresh but the sauces over the top. At least 30 choices that all sound alike, and I ended up not liking mine. It is unlimited and the kids were full with one bowl, but I chose not to go back for more. A good deal for the proce, as kids 10 – 12 were only 5.99 and adults were 10 bucks. I certainly wouldn’t go out of my way if the kids didn’t like it so much.

HuHot is pretty good. My dad would give this place like 10 stars if he could, he’s obsessed. Probably because he can eat a lot of meat all at one price haha. Anyways, you basically just get in line, grab a bowl, fill it up with whatever meat/veggies/noodles/eggs/sauces that you’d like, And then the«chefs» cook it all up on the flat top, and then serve it on a new plate. Pretty tasty. They have cards on each table that has little recommended recipe combinations for sauces/meats/veggies if you are unsure what would taste good together. I just threw together what I thought would taste good. I had chicken, yakisoba noodles, carrots, cabbage, eggs, kale, and squash. Maybe something else too, I can’t remember. I added a mix of sauces, I think their house one, a creamy peanut one, and some soy. And then when it was all finished I added some sesame and chopped peanuts for a little bit of a crunch. I probably wouldn’t come here again unless I was starving or with my dad. Just not my cup of tea, but I get why people really like it.

This place is pretty good. The sauces here are what separate it. I would prefer a place like Flat Top in Chicago where they have meat that isn’t frozen. All and all, pretty good though.

I wish I could have given my experience at Hu Hot zero stars. I have been craving Ghengis Grill that use to be in the area and was told that Hu Hot was similar; so I thought I would give it a try. When we arrived it looked inviting and we were immediately sat in a very comfortable booth. Our waitress came by, introduced herself, took our drink/appetizer orders, and explained the lines to us since it was our first time. It was then that the poor experience began. Upon first look at the food bars, I was slightly disgusted. The meats were all frozen. No, beyond frozen. The chicken, which is what I chose, was very thinly sliced, similar to lunch meat. Looking at other protein options, most were treated the same. Frozen, poor quality, discolored, and freezer burned. They were also becoming mixed into each other as no care was given to tidying up the food bins through the night. Next were the vegetables. While they all seemed to begin as individual ingredients(which were also frozen), by the time we got there this evening, it looked like the area had been ransacked by toddlers.(I am a toddler teacher, trust me, they’re messy.) Vegetables were beginning to be mixed together in the same fashion as the meats. It was not appealing to have to dig through bean sprouts, broccoli, and onions just to get to the pineapple that was from a can. Finally, the last stop on the line was the sauces. While there are 2 main options(create your own or their prepared recipes), this area was also a slight disaster. Sauces were everywhere. Spilling into others, all over the counters, and covering several of the ladle handles. This all is in addition to the food items that had previously fallen from customers bowls before me and had not been cleaned up by an employee. Once we finished assembling our bowls, we headed over to the mongolian style grill where they cook your food. They poured our bowls onto the grill. They then proceded to cook our meals, and the meals of other customers, with the same utensils! This was incomprehensible to us, but we continued on for the Unilocal community. Once our food was finished and scraped onto our plates, we went to our table. When we started eating, my husband found food from the meal that was being cooked next to his, mixed into his dinner. This, along with the frozen appetizers we had ordered(crab rangoon and pot stickers), the jarred sauces, horrible service, cold/overcooked rice, and the rediculously high cost for the quality of food, is why Hu Hot is lucky they got 1 star out of me.

Hu Hot might also be called Ho Hum. Food is plentiful yet middle of the road in quality and freshness. Pre-made sauces are way too high in sodium. Fortunately there are other options.

For starters, I like the Mongolian Grill style restaurants. For those not aware of what Mongolian Grills are they are buffet style, but instead of cooked food you put together a mix of raw food that is then cooked right in front of you as you wait. After selecting your raw food and putting into a bowl, you move on to the sauces section. Here you are presented with a huge array of them to put on your dish. If my memory serves me it’s somewhere around 25 different sauces, ranging from completely mild to so hot your face turns red and your eyes will water for the rest of the day. Then you move on to the grill section where a cook takes your bowl of raw food and starts cooking it. I’ve been to Mongolian restaurants where they’ve used wooden sticks and flip them around like you see at Japanese steakhouses. It’s cool to watch but of course doesn’t affect the overall taste of the food. This restaurant is very low key in that regard. However, the cooks get the job done and have always done a good job. Never have I had undercooked or burnt results from them. The staff is friendly and the wait service is good — although all they’re doing is refilling drinks and cleaning up dishes. This is, however, done quickly and without having to ask. I’d highly recommend anybody try this place. It’s a nice diversion from your run of the mill Applebee’s rip offs and pretenders and everybody always enjoys their cooking the most, right?

Good food at a good price, can’t beat that. They have just about everything you would want to add to a stir fry. We will be going back for more!

I love Mongolian Barbecue and this place isn’t bad. I love their selection, expecially their new Thai peanut sauce. They are more of a chain than Mongolian Barbecue down the road on Olive but still good. Only reason they got 4 stars instead of 5 is because there’s no taking left overs home.

This place is yummy! Only go if you are super hungry but the quality is great and the food is delicious. I like that you can watch your food being cooked and you don’t have to wonder what’s going on in the back. I eat here maybe twice a year because I don’t really like to stuff myself on a regular basis but when I do lol I go here!

I don’t know how this place haa been around for so long and no one had told me to eat there yet! Love it! Love the concept, love the food and options! So if you haven’t been, you go through and pick out your raw food and it’s spices/sauce and then the cok it for you on a hibachi grill. The process is faster than some hibachi buffets I’ve been to and there are so many more options, limitless including the sauces! If you don’t like it, it’s your own fault, because you mixed it all! :)

This has become our standard«healthy» spot. Although there are 10,000 combinations available, we seem to all get about the same stuff each time — which is wonderful. The staff is always friendly and the small TV is sufficient for score updates — though I wouldn’t plan on watching a game here. Disappointed there is no free wifi and there coupon policy makes you actually print the emails it sends you(which is VERY strange).
