Hampton Inn & Suites St. Louis at Forest Park

Its hard to imagine a better find than the Hampton Inn at Forest Park. Easy access to the interstates, walking distance to the Zoo and Forest Park, and a short drive from The Hill, downtown, the Loop, and Clayton.
My family of 5 slept, ate, played, and opened Christmas gifts comfortably in our queen suite. We were so pleased with the spacious room, our view of the arch from the 6^th floor, and the sparkling, comfortable heated pool and hot tub.
We didn’t try the fitness room or use the business center, but we loved the free internet, parking, coffee, and of course breakfast.
The staff were lovely; friendly, professional and accommodating. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we’re already looking forward to our stay here next time.

We stayed recently during the Thanksgiving holiday. Due to the early arrival of our grandson, we were guests for 8 nights! What a great home away from home! The facility is convenient, clean and well appointed. Breakfast (complimentary) each day was top notch. Food bar had a variety for all tastes, and it was kept clean and replenished often. Coffee available in the spacious lobby 24/7.and cookies and milk in the evening.
Rooms are beautiful and spotlessly clean. Well appointed with toiletries, and plenty of outlets for chargers, etc.
Staff was exceptional! From our first interaction to the last, we always encountered friendly, accommodating service. In fact, since our grandchild arrived during our stay, staff always inquired about us, and even left a card and small gift in our room as congratulations!
Thanks to Cherece, Mary, Brooklyn, Lawrence, and others who I can’t name, but definitely remember!

Had a family emergency in the middle of the night and had to book a room over the phone all the way from Oregon for a family member there in St. Louis. The gentleman I talked to (sorry I forgot your name — Cornelius maybe?) was so kind, helpful, and made the experience so much easier! Thank you for great customer service at 4am! Five stars for Cornelius :)

Wow, our room was very spacious since it was handicapped accessible. Unfortunately, there was no fridge nor microwave. The parking situation was the same as Home 2 Suites in St. Louis. There is an automatic gate that opens when you pull up your car. Others who come early get the ideal parking spot right in front of lobby. The breakfast was typical fare but had mangos and papaya in their fruit cocktail. There is both the USA Today and Wall Street Journal so this is perfect for those who need to be still in touch with national news. We mentioned that we were on honeymoon and the front desk clerk got us gift certificate for restaurant next door and Starbucks gift card.

Great staff. They certainly make you fell as though they really want you to feel at home here. Modern clean facility. Comfortable beds.
I can’t really come up with anything that should be different. We stayed two nights and felt comfortable during our stay.

This was a perfectly solid mid-​range experience — easy on/​off the highway, a clean room of a reasonable size, a nice warm non-«continental» breakfast (who likes the word continental anymore, since being associated with cold eggs and crappy toast?) — bacon and fresh eggs were passable. The pool and hot tub were both clean and well-​maintained, thus taking the edge off of a long car ride.
The staff was very friendly and attentive. We got a wonderful view of the pre-​July 4^th fireworks from the street just outside of our hotel — it was nice to see that the staff provided a schedule of events at the park for the holiday weekend, and we were able to plan our trip accordingly. The staff gets another gold star for providing us with a realistic viewpoint on getting good BBQ in STL after noon or so – that we’d most likely run into no brisket and no ribs, and this was true — we just moved on to pulled pork and came back the next day for the rest.
That said, the sleeping security guard in his car did not inspire any confidence about the safety of my car or the belongings stored therein. Actually, I think the first time we passed he was reading — but then definitely sleeping. It doesn’t look like a bad part of town, more like a business park, but he was a funny fixture on our way in-​and-​out of the complex.
And who doesn’t love a swan made out of a hand towel anyway???

Stayed here a few nights with our young kids. Yes, I am that parent who wipes down surfaces in a hotel room. The room was exceptionally clean and I didn’t wipe up a single speck of dust or dirt and I cleaned a majority of all surfaces any 2 year old would touch. The staff was friendly and helpful and very attentive. Loved having a fridge and microwave in room. Pool was clean and heated to a great temperature. Breakfast was fine, coffee was hot, and kids were satisfied. They even had someone walking around passing out coloring books, small balls or bracelets to the kids.
The hotel is very close to the zoo. I’m sure you could walk there.
We’d stay here again when visiting STL.

I expect a good experience when staying at a Hampton Inn and this hotel definitely met my expectations.
I was in town with friends for a Cardinals game and since we’re all recently out of college and not rolling in the dough, we figured staying a little further away from Busch Stadium instead of right downtown might save us a dollar or two.
Hotel was a little bit difficult to find, but the free, gated parking lot in the back was nice. The front desk was extremely helpful — called us a cab when we asked for one and gave us information about the brewery tour.
Room was standard — nice and clean and almost seemed brand new. The towel and washcloth in a swan shape in the bathroom was a cute touch.
I think the best part of the stay might have been the breakfast — great eggs, sausage, waffles, oatmeal, lots of pastries.
Would definitely consider staying here again if I was in St. Louis. Location seemed safe and overall a great and comfortable experience.

I have been here off an on for business but mostly on for the past 3 months. The hotel itself is small and clean. I am consistently greeted by the professional staff at the front desk each time I walk in the door. What’s more is that they even remember my name and speed through the check in process every week. I am rather picky when it comes to my room and its location and they always try to accommodate my lists of requirements. It would be remiss of me not to mention the following experience from last week. It was my birthday and in conversation it came up with the staff. When I returned from dinner I was met with a birthday card and gift certificate to a local restaurant at my door. I was totally blown away at their thoughtfulness. All I have to say is big props to Marlyn and the rest of the hardworking staff at this Hampton location!

Great pool for the kids. Small but clean. Breakfast was well stocked. Friendly and helpful staff. Perfect location to walk to the Science Center. Free hot coffee and tea all day long.

The front desk ladies were not friendly at all. They dont look sincere when they said they are here to make your stay more enjoyable.

Easy on and off I 64. Has a nice bar/​restaurant next door. The rooms are clean. The fitness center was awful. 1 bike, 1 treadmill, 1 elliptical. The treadmill kept shutting down for errors. They never recognized my diamond status nor even offered a bottle of water. Breakfast was OK. Had a hard time sleeping due to the huge bulky pillows. Does anyone really use pillows that look like sofa cushions? Do I really need 6 on my bed? Only stayed there because the team was staying there. For now it will be back to the Chase Park Plaza or the Hilton at the Ballpark.

This review is for customer service at the front desk of this hotel, we did not get a chance to stay there and we had to cancel last minute due to an emergency, we talked to different staff members a couple of time and they were very nice and understanding and they talked to the billing department and even called us back, very impressed

I stayed at this location for four days and I can easily say it was not a pleasant experience. Apparently I was lucky enough to be staying during a time when some huge pee wee hockey event was going on and my room was smack dab in the middle of this group. Needless to say there were kids running up and down the halls at all hours of the day and night bouncing balls all over the place. By the time I realized this I was already unpacked and didn’t feel like getting my room changed. I maned up and dealt with it.
On top of that the hotel was going through renovations and I have to say the lowest bidder truly won this bid. My room was newly redone but when it was wired the outlets were never moved so there was cords running everywhere on the floor against the walls. The charging station on my wall where I plugged my iPhone into was held on by two screws not even using anchors so it fell off the wall when unplugging my phone cable. The bathroom shower was not working correctly, I needed to turn into the hulk to pull the stopper up to start the shower mode.
The biggest kicker was the room where the ice machine used to be. The wall was totally covered with mold and I ventured in there because I saw a room off to the side and what was in that room? Our towels! Nothing like moldy towels to start the day off. What is even worse two days later I walked by the mold room and noticed that the contractor painted over the obviously water damaged wall instead of replacing the sheetrock. Insane!!!
I would not stay here again. Only reason I even put up with the place is that I got a good deal and it would have been too expensive to get another hotel. The staff was nice at least and the people staying at the hotel was also very friendly. I do enjoy the mid wast.
Side note* My last day there the fire alarm went off and I had to grab all my stuff and head out of there. I didn’t want to chance not being able to get back in the building and missing my flight.

Ok, so this isn’t the absolute best in the world, but I think it deserves five starts for its amazing combination of factors.
1. Super nice staff. Usually I go to hotels, and the front desk staff are perfectly nice, but not really friendly. The staff here were super polite, smiled, were friendly, and were extremely helpful.
2. The front desk had things you’re likely to forget, including… ponytail holders! YES! I forgot ponytail holders, and the front desk actually had some for guests! It’s a small thing, but it saved my entire day.
3. Surprisingly well stocked mini store. Got some chips and popsicles. I’m sure I’m not the only person to ever wish they had milk there as well, but whatever, the prices weren’t extortionary, and it satisfied my «It’s-2-am-and-i-didn’t-have-dinner» hunger.
4. Pool and fitness center. They exist and are clean. I didn’t use them due to time constraints, but I appreciate hotels having them.
5. Nice sized bathtub that can actually be stopped up for the taking of bubble baths.
6. FREE HOT BREAKFAST! I never got to take advantage of this, but people they have FREE WAFFLES. They leave the fruit out, and keep coffee refreshed throughout the day, which is also SUPER nice touch.
7. Comfy beds, sheets, and pillows. well, I hated my pillow, but that’s because I use a special pillow, but my husband assured me the pillows were great.
8. Good price. Not too spendy.
9. Extremely convenient location. Near the park/​zoo, next to an awesome coffee shop, and only a nine dollar cab ride away from a lot of awesome restaurants and bars!

decent location, not impressive by any means.
The rooms are clean, spacious and well decorated. The service is pretty good, but the breakfast was a bit lacking than some of the other locations.
Parking is free on the property, and hotel is very close to major freeways.

This is a really nice place to stay if you’re visiting St. Louis. I’ve stayed here a few times with my parents during those awkward dorm-​closing-​but-​still-​needed-​to-​be-​at-​school times. (e.g. I wasn’t sure if I needed to retake a math class or not back when I was a freshman so we had to wait to see what I got in the class and of course they didn’t upload the grades until after they made us move out of the dorms, lol wtf.)
Relatively affordable rooms. Ample and easy parking. Very very clean. Nicely decorated hotel rooms – simple yet practical. The bathrooms have nifty little Saint Louis themed drawings and sketches like old World’s Fair flyer type of stuff. They have a continental/​cold breakfast in the lobby during the mornings but they also have a cooler of Jimmy Dean’s sandwiches which you can heat up in the microwave which is a nice touch as well as stuff like cereal, milk, juice, coffee, fruit, and instant oatmeal. Staff is very friendly and polite and they actually clean your room/​make the bed for you when you put the card on your door. I think most of the newer Hampton Inns must be like this one because I also stayed at a Hampton in Fort Leonardwood once and it was almost identical to this one on Oakland Ave.
The only major snafu was one night, at like 2:30am, the fire alarm went off RANDOMLY. I think it was due to their system just being installed or repaired and it was glitchy. So it woke up everyone in the entire hotel and we were all standing outside in the concrete at 2something in the morning, kinda pissed off. It scared the crap out of me! But the hotel people were really apologetic about the whole ordeal and offered my dad a free night on them, which was a nice touch!
I would recommend this place. It’s not as «trendy» or «cool» as Hotel Ignacio or Moonrise but it’s definitely worth the money you pay. It’s slightly more expensive than the Water Tower Inn but I’d rather stay here since it’s not a creepy renovated hospital. LOL.
