History

Established in 2005.

Drunken Fish on Laclede’s Landing is the third location (after Westport and Central West End) to open of the Drunken Fish brand in St. Louis, Missouri. With our breathtaking modern décor, vibrant nightlife and close proximity to St. Louis landmarks, Drunken Fish quickly thrived downtown. Today, as we grow, we’re proud to be the Midwest’s unrivaled leader in Sushi and Japanese Cuisine.

Our menu includes our wildly popular Signature Makimono such as the Drunken Fish and White Tiger Rolls as well as a wide selection of more traditional sashimi and nigiri. Additionally, our entrées such as the Chilean Sea Bass and Sesame Tuna Steak are sure to please your palate.

What a disappointment. We stopped after the cardinals game for a drink and something to eat. Sat outside. Never got waited on after sitting there for twenty minutes, although someone did bring water after ten minutes. I walked inside to ask if we were supposed to get our own drinks. There were 5 waiters and waitresses standing around doing absolutely nothing. We were assured that someone would come out. After ten minutes, nothing. So we left. I’ve never seen such lazy ass employees! And they want a pay raise?! If I owned this restaurant, heads would roll!

My fave sushi place downtown. Service in and delivery through grub hub are both great. I run a store alone, so i get delivery a lot. Good packaging is a must and they are great! Extra spicy mayo on the side? No prob! And omg. Please do yourself a favor a try the lobster appetizer rolls. Omg. So. Freaking. Good. If they werent pricy, dear lord, i would get it all the time.

Well I saved my review for this location of Drunken Fish and I’m sad to say it’s no more… scary news! Anyway, we had great service here on a Friday night and had like 3 people attending to us. They even wrapped up our wine bottle for us, which I didn’t know was a thing or possibility! The sushi rolls were great and the shrimp fried rice is a fave too! Yum, will miss this location!

This is one of the best spots for a sit down meal on the landing! Food is consistently excellent and always fresh. I have been going here for years and they always have great staff. The ambience is great, whether you are entertaining business guests, with friends or on a date. Put of all of the Drunken Fish locations, this is the one that combines the great history of Saint Louis with the years of Sushi experience. If you are downtown StL this is a wonderful spot to visit! Check it out, grab some drinks, get some amazing food, go see the arch riverfront, and have a GREAT time!

Very Americanized sushi. Lots of sauce, tempura, cream cheese, etc. Fish quality was okay. It was hard to find any kind of variety in the menu. The sushi chefs did not have much to say for recommendations. If you’re not a sushi aficionado, you could be fine with Drunken Fish. Being from coastal California, I’m used to really good, fresh sushi, so I have high standards. But I was craving sushi on a cross-​country road trip, so had to give it a shot. Not too bad, not too good. Just average.

They try hard at Drunken Fish. Maybe they try too hard. I was asked if I had been there before and when I answered no, the server offered to review the menu with me. Nice, right?
Instead of asking me what I liked and recommending a few things that matched, she proceeded to pretty much read the menu to me. After dinner when I asked about dessert, she opened up the menu and read it aloud again. I get it, she’s green, she’s trying to help and doesn’t quite know how. but it was as comical as the first date going on next to me trying to pay with a Groupon. (Pro tip: Guys, she probably won’t be impressed when you pull out a Groupon.)
As for the sushi, hope you like mayo, because they have a heavy hand on the bottle. I also got the wrong roll, as the server got her superheroes mixed up when she put the order in. The server offered to replace it, but since it was late and I had eaten half of it, I opted to just finish it. The rolls were pretty good, but would have been better with a touch less aoli. It just wasn’t my night. The fish was good quality, and I suspect that if you catch them on a good night dinner here can be great.
But the true comedy is the beer list. I realize this is the land of Bud so the city’s idea of craft beer may be warped, but on what planet does Heineken and Corona qualify as craft beer? Were they going for irony or do they just not know?

I knew something was amiss when the waitress assured us, immediately after introducing herself, that they had plenty of «cooked» food to offer — suggesting that a significant percentage of this sushi restaurant’s patrons are not actually on board with the whole sushi thing. Sure enough, the menu was jammed packed with what I will politely call hybridized sushi — by which I mean lots of cream cheese, mayo, and deep frying. Buried in the corner was a small selection of «classic» nigiri sushi, which I ordered from, and was pretty disappointed. The mackerel, which is usually a hard to ruin nigiri standby, was dry and past its prime. Overall, the quality was about what I would expect from supermarket sushi, at quite a bit more than supermarket prices.

Went on a Tuesday night. Place had about six empty tables and six full tables. Servers refused to sit us down since they only had three servers and a manager and apparently the servers could not handle more than six tables at any given time.
In general I just don’t recommend eating sushi from a restaurant that is not competent enough to handle their restaurant at half capacity.

Nothing spectacular. Went here for to take advantage of the lunch specials, but it happened to be a game day, and apparently they don’t offer lunch deals on game days. Hmm… I wasn’t about to pay $ 15 pre-​tax and tip for a roll, so I went with the stir-​fried udon noodles with chicken ($ 11 – other proteins gradually got more expensive, with one option costing $ 15) and split an order of the sweet potato fries with my friend.
The sweet potato fries were kind of soggy? They tasted okay. The flavors didn’t seem to mesh well together, mostly just sweet on sweet. The stickiness of the sauce they are coated in didn’t really work either.
The udon noodles were okay, and I thought the portion size was good. The sauce had all fallen to the bottom of the bowl, which I didn’t realize until halfway through my meal.
Our waitress was polite but at times a little awkward, and I felt like she wasn’t able to answer my questions.
This is a weak 3 stars.

This place is stupid, they charge $ 6 for parking whether it’s busy or it’s just a dead night. No wonder this place is always dead and there is no business.
Stopped in on a Monday night at 7pm and for an hour and a half we were the only people here in the whole restaurant!!!
Landing is dead and the businesses are not doing anything about parking!!!

Very nice atmosphere, interior design was well planned out and gave a mature atmosphere.
Menu had lots of options but our waiter was confusing with prices and ended up mixing up our salad orders. Was resolved in the end though.
Lobster appetizer rolls were really delicious. Great flavor and crispy outside. Now the salads were weird. Would not recommend getting salads at a Japanese place because the vegetables weren’t the most fresh, the flavor was odd but not tasty. The sushi and chicken bowl were pretty good. The amount of chicken was almost overwhelming compared to rice proportion and the amount fried is not healthy… But overall a decent experience. Pricey though.

This place is great! We must’ve come at the right time on the right day, (Friday afternoon) because the service was both immediate and fantastic!
We are out of towers from Philadelphia, and we like to try out sushi in every city we visit.
By far, the sushi at this Drunken Fish location is one of the best we’ve ever had!
The white tiger roll is amazing, and we’ve never had any roll that can really match the Spicy Butterfly Roll! If you’re heading to this location, make sure you try either roll!
The consideration at this location is also something you don’t usually find at a city restaurant! When I accidentally spilled soy sauce on my new sweater, I was immediately given club soda to get the stain out! Very thoughtful!
And Lauren, our server, was as pleasant as could be. After our meal, we immediately filled out our survey. However, after it was completed, we still didn’t feel as though we had emphasized Lauren’s superior service well enough, so here we are! We appreciated her insight, and she was a genuinely good heart! So Lauren, thanks for the great service, and to Lauren’s boss: this location would do well in keeping her around for as long as they can, she is superb!

Best sushi in St. Louis. My favorites are the Superman, Spider-​Man and Drunken Fish Roll. Getting inside is a lot easier now that the construction in front of the building is finally over. Request a booth for a more private dinner. The staff has always been friendly. I’ve never had a bad experience.

Eleven of us showed up without a reservation and the host was very accommodating. It took only about 3 mins for them to put together a table for us. Since we were on biz we all wanted separate checks & we wanted to split some items up to 3 ways — no problem at all. The server (Jon) spent time describing some of the drinks and was infinitely patient with those who had a hard time deciding. Initially I thought he was slow to deliver the drinks, but then I saw he was delivering them one-​by-​one so they wouldn’t spill. Nice!
Though I wouldn’t call the rolls authentic by any stretch, they were fun, rolled tightly (so they didn’t fall apart when dipped), and beautifully presented. I can’t remember them all, but we had the starburst, mango roll and the spider roll along with edemame as an appetizer. They often have a Unilocal check-​in offer which has been the edemame app in the past & is currently a shot of house sake.
Prices were very reasonable & we had a super fun time. I’d definitely go back.

A Groupon deal lured us in and we were not disappointed. This is was our first experience with sushi outside of a supermarket so I cannot compare the food to other establishments. I can say, however, that we enjoyed everything we ordered and there were no leftovers!
The service was some of the best I have had in years. Our server «Kris» was excellent in explaining in the menu and providing recommendations. He was very attentive and we were never without. The manager came and checked up on us and our water glasses were never ½ full before being topped off. A great experience.
We ordered a small appetizer, the combo platter and a specialty roll and it was definitely enough for two adults.
I booked a reservation through their website in advance but we showed up at 5:30 on a Saturday and probably could have gotten a table without it. It probably helps the ball game was still in session because it did start to fill up as the game let out.
