I’ve driven by this place a million times and never ventured in… what a mistake!
Great neighborhood bar with a substantial regular crowd. Had a chance to talk to the owner who has been at this location (through various reinventions) for 20 years — wow!
Everyone raved about the burgers, so this should be on your to-​do list! There is a little grill behind the bar and they make your burger in front of you.
On St. Patricks day they had free corned beef and cabbage, which they also had the prior Saturday.
Cheap drinks & a fantastic little patio with a nice sound system, too!
Cash only, so be prepared.

We are proud south city supporters through and through. Have given this place a few tries and they have failed every single time. We have left before we had time to eat due to the poor service. Basically, we have experienced horrific service. If you are not a regular who has been going to this bar for years, you are out of luck — at least this is what we have encountered. Most south city dives are welcoming. I have not experienced this at this dive. My neighbor raves about the burgers but when you are not acknowledged when you walk in a bar and it takes 15 minutes to order a beer (when two people are in there), it is not a place you want to stick around and give your money for dinner.

Great neighborhood spot in an old house. The place was packed on a Friday evening and had a very charming atmosphere. My beer and burger were both very very cheap. The burger was pretty solid, especially considering the cheap price. This is definitely one of the most affordable joints for a bite and a beer. Doc Haus is a wonderfully simple tavern filled with friendly faces. Looking forward to coming back.

Walked in here for a snort on a Saturday night after an afternoon of shooting pool at Colorado Bob’s.
Unfortunately, it was the night of their neighborhood Christmas Party so the place was packed. Fortunately, it was the night of their neighborhood Christmas Party, so there was free food for the customers.
Heard their burgers are good. Will have to try next time.
Imagine that… a neighborhood bar that gives it’s customers free food just because.
Anyway, my crew was welcomed enthusiastically and we enjoyed some longnecks for cheap.
Deceptively larger on the inside than it looks from the sidewalk.
Definitely a place to add to your South City Pub Crawl list, but street parking only.
