China King

So China King did call me back the next day and apologized. They said it was really busy when I called and they didn’t have the extra time to really address what happened. They told me they fired the delivery driver and that they really appreciated me alerting them to the problem. They’ve earned the extra stars!

This China King has been my general go-​to Chinese restaurant for quick, cheap, decent quality food. Tonight, I found a piece of metal in my steamed dumpling (fortunately right before a bite). More than likely won’t visit this restaurant again.

This is my go-​to Chinese delivery in South City. Everything is always amazing and super cheap.
You can order online and have delicious food in less than 45 minutes!
(Pro-​tips: Combo plates are amazing AND the lunch specials are insane.)

The flavor of the food was adequate. I probably would not order from here again. The fried rice lacked sufficient soy sauce flavor and had no vegetables or egg. It was simply rice and meat. The lo mien noodles lacked flavor and vegetables like the rice.
Positives: The hot braised chicken wings were good. It was a lot of food, delivered quickly at a cheap price. The amount of food lasted two people for three meals.

I love this place and I’ve never been there to eat. I was looking for some yummy Chinese food for delivery and came across this little gem. I didn’t see a menu on Unilocal so decided to google their company and found that you are able to order online: perfect. I ordered the steamed white rice along with steamed chicken and broccoli, spring rolls and was curious about their shrimp egg roll.
Delivery was perfect timing. The delivery guy was courteous and food was perfectly wrapped and still hot. As for the quality of food, I was loving every single bite. I shamelessly devoured pretty much everything. I cannot recommend this place enough. Keep in mind I only had delivered food so I can’t speak on the location but if you’re hankering for Chinese food and don’t feel like driving (and in the area) — please give this place a chance!
Ps. Yes I’m from Texas. Please forgive the usage of the word: hankering.

Delivers all the way to the hill! Greatest Chinese delivery ever ! Amazing fried rice! Eggrolls and crab Rangoon were phenomenal and they give you free vess sodas on Monday and Tuesday :) first time ordering from this place and I will again:)

Best delivery cheap Chinese food that we have found in our area. The chicken fried rice wasn’t overcooked, the honey chicken was amazing and everything tasted fresher than your typical hole in the wall Chinese restaurant.

Ordered last night. Outstanding! Chicken chow mien with lots of fresh veggies was excellent. The shrimp fried rice also excellent with good sized shrimp. Excellent egg rolls, crabrangoon is ok. Can’t beat the price!

Ordered pork fried rice and crab rangoon. A very tasty fried rice rangoons were decent. They were the ones that open in the middle. The fried rice is good. Has a nice smokey wok flavor. There is a big difference between city and county Chinese food. This is good fried rice all around. Come get some

While there are better Chinese restaurants out there, China King provides a cheap, fast, and tasty option. Do not expect a sit down experience or authentic dim sum. There are many Chinese joints that try to master efficient fast food style service. They have got it pretty well figured out. I have never had issues with my orders and they never skimp on serving sizes. The general tso is delish and The crab Rangoon is splendid.

General Tso’s chicken, pork fried rice and an egg roll for only $ 8??? Food hits the spot, staff is nice and they give you enough food for basically two meals. Great spot for cheap, quick Chinese.

Really not my favorite. Wouldn’t want to order anything from here. Low quality, greasy, and cheap are the 3 adjectives that come to mind.

This is the best chinese restaurant in STL, as far as I’m concerned.

The delivery was on time an accurate, but the delivery girl acted strangely. She didn’t knock. I only knew she was there because my dog started barking. Then when I opened the door, there was a very awkward moment, where she just stood there, food in hand and said «hi» but didn’t offer me anything. I finally said, «Are you???» And she put the receipt to sign in my face.
As far as the food it was so-​so. I had the orange chicken, fried rice and crab rangoon. The chicken was fine, served in a large portion, but not anything I think I would want to order again. The fried rice was very wet. Maybe the owners read previous reviews complaining about the dryness of the rice and overcompensated here, but it came out with a very greasy, wet feeling losing it’s taste. The crab rangoon was nicely cooked, but it was on the sweet side which I know many people like — it’s just not my cup of tea. Overall, still waiting for a great Chinese delivery in South City.

Placing my order was simple and quick. I was quoted a 30 – 40 min delivery time. at 11:30am on Saturday. Food arrived in 25min. Price was about $ 2 higher than what was on their menu but I’ll assume that as a delivery fee? Order the Kung Pao Chicken which was great and the Szechuan Beef also great. Both had large portions and a good about of meats and veggies. Sauce was good, the beef wasn’t as spicy as I expected but dashed some pepper on it and it was perfect. Egg rolls and Crab rangood were both about normal. No red sauce came with the crab rangoon like you see at some places but they gave me plenty of Soy and Sw/​Sr packets. Everything was packed well and no spillage.
100% will return again!

I’m a chicken and broccoli gal and this place does it right with a delicious brown sauce. Their steamed rice is soooo yummy. I know what you’re thinking, steamed rice? Who screws that up, but it happens. Best chicken and broccoli in the city.

Good chinese, low prices. Works for me. Just wish they could figure out seasoning on the Mongolion beef. Regular for me is too hot, and then I asked for not spicy, and it was too bland, so then I said mild and it is still pretty hot. So gotta figure something out but overall the flavor is really good.

We ordered delivery to our house since we were to lazy to get out today.
China King was very thorough over the phone about our order. She was very nice and accomodating asking if we needed any extras and repeating the order back to us.
Pricing wasn’t outlandish. You had a required $ 10 order minimum which was perfectly fine.
We order the chicken fried rice, crab ragoon, chicken lo mein, and an egg roll. The chicken lo mein tasted really strange to me. Jason liked it, but I didn’t care for it at all. The fried rice was fairly good even though it was slightly dry. Egg roll wasn’t superb and the crab ragoon tasted wonderful.
The food was delivered about 20 minutes after it was ordered. 4 stars on service and promptness.

We got a flier in the mail for this new Chinese take out & delivery place in Gravois Plaza, and almost threw it away. I mean really, does the South Grand area really need yet another Chinese restaurant? But then we scanned the menu and spotted Duck Lo Mein. Now you have my full attention.
We ordered the Hot Braised Chicken Wings (good, but not as spectacular as Old St. Louis Chop Suey on Chippewa), Won-​tons in Garlic Sauce (outstanding, this will be a regular order for us now), Hot & Sour Soup (excellent, lots of veggies and a balanced flavor), and that Duck Lo Mein (fair amount of duck, good flavor, although noodles were a bit softer than I like).
Next time we’ll check out the Mei Fun (rice noodles, don’t see that often from these places), and the Moo Shu.
They also have a Party Special section with big trays of the crowd pleasers.
Good prices, order came in about 40 minutes. The way they do their coupons is a bit unique, they have you give them to the delivery person, who gives you the cash back, so we just used that as the tip. Some of the sauces were oozing out of the usual take out containers, but otherwise was packed OK.
