In my opinion, the sides are almost as important as the meats. The meats were okay, but I was disappointed that the green beans I ordered were clearly from a can.

When one of my cousins was in St. Louis, her father and she went to this Bandana’s Bar-B-Q, and then she raved about how good it was. We thought that it would be good based on what my cousin had said. NOT! From the beginning, we didn’t like the setup and the service. We waited a long, LONG time for the food to get to our table, but then we didn’t like it. All of the sauces that they have tasted terrible; the meat was dry and putting sauce on it didn’t help because my mother and I didn’t like the sauces that they have. The sides that we got didn’t even taste good either. Although the prices were reasonable, if you don’t like the food, price doesn’t matter. When you don’t like the food, you just don’t like the food; and we didn’t like their food. We decided that we would not go there ever again, and we haven’t gone there since. I just don’t understand why people like it.

Wonderful service! Knowledgeable, quick, delicious! Forgot how much I loved bandanas but after this trip I will definitely become a regular.

Came in for the first time today to pick up takeout. They were very friendly and seemed down-to-earth. They even offered a couple extra sides for free after a very slight/minor inconvenience. I haven’t tried the food yet, but my takeout service was very good.

I enjoy this place everytime I visit St Louis. This was the first time I tried this location… it’s newer than the other one near the airport. The food was great chicken wings, ribs, and the best garlic bread ever. The fried corn stuck to my teeth. Bleh! I’m passing next on that and my waiter was slow and there wasn’t a big crowd. Overall still decent time

This was a great dinner. Starting with the BBQ Chicken Nachos to start. They are fantastic. I should just come for them alone. The Fried Corn is to die for. The Turkey plate was great!!! Good service and able to watch the Baseball Game while eating!

I came here with the family today and we had a good time. The service is really good. I’m not really a big fan of bbq so this review may or may not be fair. My sister loves Bandanas so that’s why we came. They give you a nice portion of food that can you fill you up fast. The food is ok

Ok, but not great by any means. I had the smoked sausage platter. Sausage had decent flavor but was cold. Fries a bit undercooked. BBQ ranch dressing on the salad & the garlic bread were best part of the meal. My wife had the loaded baked potato which she said was good. Service was prompt & attentive.

I feel right at home when I came to Bandana’s and the owner was very glad to see me and my friends again. I won’t say this bbq restaurant is a must, especially in St. Louis where bbq is a religion itself. However, Bandana’s is quality bbq and there’s nothing on the menu that would hurt the restaurant’s rep. You gotta get the platter, and the pulled pork is very delicious as well as tender. The sides are also a thumbs up so rest assured my potato/okra/coleslaw fans. It was my friend’s birthday last time I went so I heard the donut holes were good or the brownie ala mode(which has vanilla and chocolate sauce). Anyway, thumbs up to this place that understands customer loyalty and is working to improve their bbq expertise. One thing I forgot to mention that stood out to me is their wide selection of bbq sauces. They are all good, but having that flexibility to control the flavor was a big plus.

I ordered take out earlier tonight and there was a misunderstanding on the phone. They thought I only ordered a half slab when I actually thought I’d ordered a full slab for my 6’3″ husband and I to share. Well once called and talked to the manager whose name was Mike, it was not a problem. Had the other half slab delivered to my house ten minutes away… In a flash. I’ve been in the bar/restaurant business in my past and let me tell you… this is customer service at its best. Good show bandanas BBQ. Oh, and the ribs were delish!!!

Our work goes out for monthly birthday lunches and this time it was Bandanas. The table was set up and they had two waitstaff for the 20 of us which worked out well. The water was out quickly, drink orders taken, and everyone given a moment to look over the menu. The waitresses waited on each side of the table taking orders. I wasn’t feeling very hungry so I tried the new-to-me $ 6 lunch. Drinks were refilled and the orders were out. Service was good and fast! The $ 6 lunch gives you 3 oz of meat, the $ 8 lunch gives you 6oz and platter gives you 8oz. it, along with my sides, was more than enough. Only gripe would be there HAS to be another choice besides garlic bread. About ½ of the table did not eat the bread and left it. What a waste. Sure, you can say no bread but there is no discount. The food was good and hot. All 20 plates came out quickly and the waitresses got them all right. No «Who ordered this?» stuff going on. Nice change of place. They seemed ready and capable to take large groups.

Pulled pork plate, with sides of potato salad and cole slaw! There are 5 different types of sauces on the table and a big old roll of paper towels to clean yourself up. It’s a big mess of food and good for some quick eats. This isn’t to be confused with a fussypants bbq place. This is quick and dirty, and cut to the chase. Our server was super friendly and earned the 4th star for this place. She made us feel right at home and helped us fill our bellies.

Calling a Wet Bandana a Wet Banana by mistake when ordering get s a laugh from everyone at the table. Please follow up with ‘last-night’ jokes if someone does this… it’s a requirement. What I really like about this place is it’s great in simplicity. The barbecue is awesome, service is attentive and friendly, and I think even the inventor of Texas Toast couldn’t have imagined a piece so big(and delicious). I’m also(probably overly) critical of potato salad, and always order it when available because I love GOOD potato salad. Bandana’s passes my criticism, and I’ll order it again.

Holy yumminess Batman! Is it bad that they have the best barbecue I’ve ever had? I order chicken every time i go, and i don’t bother with the sauce because the dry rub is that good!!! Great service and clean atmosphere, and cheap to boot!

Bandana’s BBQ used to be a go-to standby comfort food kind of place for me. For years there was a location in Clayton but that has long been gone. Now I sometimes pick it up from the Rock Hill location. I stopped in the other night since the BBQ place i wanted was closed since they were sold out. I was really disappointed. The pulled chicken wasn’t all the way cooked, it was still pink in some spots. The potato salad and baked beans were just meh. Other times before this the pulled pork hasn’t been that great either. I am not sure if it is this location or the chain in general that has gone down hill. This location is always pretty empty when I go in. Maybe they do a strong lunch business, not sure. With a drink and tip I spent about $ 15. I felt like i could have gotten a lot better meal other places. I could have gone to Trainwreck down the street for a burger and left more satisfied. I doubt I will be back anytime soon.

I’d recommend the pork platter with the Sweet & Smokey bbq sauce. The garlic bread is very tasty! Definitely get the side of corn — it’s delicious.

DECENTBBQFOR A GOODPRICE! I lived in St. Louis for a few months and luckily enough just down the road(within walking distance) from Bandana’s. I am from CA and living in the midwest was obv looking for some BBQ. This place satisfied my cravings and let me share why: 1) FOOD(4⁄5): I’ve been here for LUNCH a few times because it’s such a GOODDEAL! I think the food is good/satisfying and it gets 4 stars because of the PRICE and PORTION size. From the lunch platter I can have 2 ribs and a slice of bread for leftovers. — Ribs: tasty with that top rib layer CHARREDJUSTRIGHT. The ribs are FLAVORFUL and have a good amount of meat to them. — Beef: so-so. The beef is cut into pieces and SOFT. I prefer the ribs. — Fried okra: plain and BLAND. Would most def have to put salt on this. — Baked potato: served with a good helping of butter and sour cream — Garlic bread: generally large slices of bread 2) SERVICE(4⁄5): FRIENDLY waiters and they’re good about filling up your water. If it’s your first time there, they will explain all the sauces to you. Something about how 2 of them are a thicker, molasses sauce. The food comes out relatively QUICKLY, as in I am not waiting a long time to eat. 3) AMBIANCE(3⁄5): Standard chain restaurant; good for parties of any size with average noise level. It is nice to dine outdoors when the weather is good. They have MULTIPLE TVs with sports games on. BOTTOMLINE: Totally RECOMMEND this place if you are looking for GOODBBQ for a REASONABLEPRICE and in a timely manner.
