When I first joined Club Fitness, they talked to me about an introductory package with a personal trainer to get acquainted with some of the workout equipment, learn how to workout properly, learn proper nutrition, etc. I was hesitant at first but the lady talked me into it so before I knew what was happening, I was assigned a trainer whom I was going to meet the very next day. I have been feeling like I was in a slump physically because I had just been cleared to go back to being active again after my surgery but haven’t found the motivation to do so. My work doesn’t help either because I am mostly sitting down if not in the lab then at my desk. I figured someone who could push me through will be helpful and for the introductory price, I really thought it was a great deal. To start with, they offered a $ 99 for a 4-session package which I thought was great. I ended up working with Matt H. He called me around 6 the day I signed up for the program to talk to me about my goals, etc but I was out to dinner and when I called him back, it was fairly late so I didn’t get to talk to him until the next day which was our meeting day. He did an overall evaluation and took measurements. He was really nice and made me feel comfortable right away. I am a shy, awkward person and that is kind of a feat to get me to feel comfortable fairly quickly. After my 4 sessions ended, I signed up for another 16 session contract and have been working with Matt since. He definitely helps me stay motivated with working toward my fitness goals. He is also very helpful with trying to work around some of the things I cannot manage. For example, I have an issue doing burpees because they make me sick from the movements so he completely cut them out of my routine. He also has offered me great nutrition advice and told me to call or text him if I ever have any questions regarding workout and/or nutrition. Every time I ask him about something, he generally will answer back right away unless he is working, of course. I’ve changed my diet since I started working with a personal trainer to a healthier one, avoided bad foods even though they are so tempting at times, and have noticed that I have more energy, I look forward to working out, and doing other physical activities on my own. Overall, I think signing up for the sessions was a great idea. I would highly recommend it!
