Tra Vigne is a quintessential wine country experience. From its classic neo-​Italian dining room highlighting the old world bar to the magnificent shade covered Tuscan courtyard, people say you could be anywhere in Italy while dining at the elegant Tra Vigne. Our more than 200 wine list changes weekly, always with additions of new, exciting Napa Valley and Italian varietals. Count on our knowledgeable staff to help expertly navigate the menu and extensive wine list. Our kitchen is driven by the freshest regional and seasonal ingredients. This cooking is the heart and hand of Italy, an amazing compliment to the beautiful Napa Valley. It’s not uncommon to see vintners dining at the classic bar.

For relaxed family dining, visit our Pizzeria, a Napa local favorite. Serving pasta, insalata, and pizza – including authentic Neopolitan pizza – expertly cooked in a handmade brick oven. Private dining and tastings are also available at our Cantinetta.

History

Established in 1987.

Since 1987, Tra Vigne Restaurant, located in historic St. Helena, has been a favorite destination for visitors and locals alike. The high-​walled entrance leads into our outdoor Tuscan courtyard. For a moment amongst mulberry trees, granite tables and wrought-​iron chairs, you have seemingly been transformed to a place halfway between the vineyards of Napa Valley and the rustic Italian countryside. A massive wooden door opens to unveil our elegant dining room, featuring over-​stuffed booths and table dining, tall ceilings and walls hung with modern Italian prints. A towering, old-​world bar hosts an extensive liquor list and over 200 unique and rare Napa Valley and Italian wines.

We offer 11 unique dining venues for your special event: Tuscan Courtyard, Cantinetta Tra Vigne, The Vineyard, Magnum Library, Whitehall Lane Winery, The Cask Room at Merryvale, Markham Vineyards, Tra Vigne Restaurant, Terrazo, Tavola Sociale, and Tavolo Romantico (private table for 2, perfect for proposals!)

We would like to take this space to tell you a little more about our neo-​Italian dining. Our cuisine combines Italian and Californian influences. While enjoying a glass of wine from our extensive selection, you can order the mozzarella cheese «Al Minuto» (hand-​made at the moment ordered with grilled bruschetta and Napa Valley olive oil). The combination of warm cheese, olive oil, and crispy bread is incredible. It’s a great way to start your meal and is well complemented by our classic Caesar Salad.

Some of our most popular entrees come from our array of homemade pastas, including sage infused pappardelle, braised rabbit ragu, wild mushrooms, and grana padano, as well as our local Dungeness crab, fresh fish, (including local halibut), organic chicken, and smoked and braised Niman Ranch Beef short ribs.

We also look forward to sharing our decadent desserts with you, including a classic tiramisu made with homemade chocolate Mascarpone, chocolate sponge cake, and marsala zabaglione.
