Been coming here since I was a little girl with my family. The owner is so so sweet. She taught me how to eat spaghetti with a spoon when I was younger. My dad gets their fish and chips carry out a few times a month. Love this little family restaurant!

Nicely redecorated. The service is good and the owners are very friendly and helpful. The food is average Greek family restaurant fare. Try the stuffed grape leaves, they aren’t from a can!

Went there for a carry out tonight. Frequent this place often I. And carry out. Tonight’s dinner was hardly edible. The salad and rice pudding were great. When did they start putting the lemon sauces on side! Also shish ka Bob was so dry. Grape leaves looked like they were made a week ago. Maybe new chef! Maybe Fran needs to take another look at her restaurant !

First time pick up of a large Greek salad. Waitress on phone was nice, pick up was quick, It was ok, but slightly different than other greek salads I’ve had. It had garbanzo beans, which I don’t like, and never had a greek salad with garbanzo beans, it also had regular sliced white onions, when usually I’ve had the sweeter red onions, it had mild pepper rings, instead of pepprocini peppers, and the feta was in cubes, not crumbled. It was large, lots of «stuff» but I won’t order it again, simply because it’s too«different» and not a typical greek salad I’ve ever experienced. I probably will come back and try something else.

Food is good however there were ants under the table. Like a big pile of them. Couldn’t eat the rest of my dinner with my toddler. I was too disgusted but even more offended when I told the owners daughter and she had an attitude with me about it. She acted like it was no big deal and that it’s only natural that if someone dropped food on the floor that ants appear. No apology or anything. I will never eat here again. Very rude woman.

Love the owner and staff here. It’s just a small family diner that has been in our city for years. Newly renovated with warmer colors makes it cozy. The food is just usual Greek dishes with some american diner favs. Love the breakfast for the price, It’s not the Whitney, but the price is right and they feed you good.

Wow, it has been a while since I have been able to dine at the«GT». The place has been completely remodeled, but the food is still homemade and delicious. I went on a Sunday and had the braised Lamb Shank it was amazing especially for the price. My wife had lasagna which was homemade and great. Good food and a really fun warm atmosphere make this a must try place in St Clair Shores. The London broil is also a good bet that is one of my staple orders when I go there.

Newly renovated after being closed. Inside looks great! Food is even better. Had the London Broil and it was tasty. Comes with soup or salad, your choice of potato, and of course dessert! Portions are very generous for a great price. All the soups are made from scratch and fresh. Also tried the Pork Shish Kabob. Don’t be scared of the other white meat, go to Grecian Table and get the Pork kabob! Very tender, perfectly cooked. Chicken Paprikash(or is it Papridash?) looked phenomenal. It was on the Specials Board and it seems whatever is on the specials board is what you want to get. You will have a big selection and big portions. Go there with an appetite. Waitstaff is very attentive and service was great for a diner during a busy dinner hour. The owners are always running around helping and give the place a family atmosphere. You will feel like you are in Mama or Yiayia’s kitchen!

They’re BACK! Newly decorated: spic & span. It’s like going to YaYa’s. The service can’t be beat. If you could go to «Cheers» for breakfast this would be it. Everybody may not know your name, but if you’ve eaten there before they’ll remember your face. Huge menu, specials for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Dinner includes soup/salad, & dessert. Its good too. Classic Greek diner food. But breakfast is the best. Get the gyros with eggs, hasbrowns & toast. Ask for hot sauce. The coffee will keep on coming. I’ve never had to ask to have my cup filled. Greek hospitality!

Ordered the Lamb kabobs, they were very tuff, mostly fat & Grissel… couldn’t even eat them so sent back. Other dinners are good, but too bad cause it was cheap for lamb & hard to find that around here… breakfast is pretty good for the prices. Place needs a complete makeover which is taking place right now. Hope prices don’t rise because of the upgrades…

What’s with the canned carrots n peas?! We ate there for the first time… when I was a kid this place was called«The Shores Deli Diner.» And THEY had good food. Compared to other GREAT Greek-American restaurants in the vicinity… give a big ol shout out to my beloved ATHENIANSHISHKEBAB! They are pretty average. We both ordered the stuffed cabbage with rice pilaf. It was a pretty good portion for the price, blandish in taste, not great. Aanywho, neither of us could stomach the vinegar-packed carrots and peas – It spoils the whole presentation… What proud Greek-American would do that to a guest? Fresh? C’mon…

I’m probably a bit biased towards the Grecian Table as it’s located so close to my parents’ house that I could probably check in without even getting off the couch. It always improves my opinion of a restaurant if I can walk there in under two minutes. But putting the convenient location aside, I’d still recommend this place. It’s the kind of good, reasonably priced family restaurant that you don’t see enough of. The food is nothing special, but it’s good. It’s particularly good for breakfast, though I like the lemon rice soup too. Like I said, I’m not sure if it would get four stars if it was a restaurant I actually had to drive to, but, well, I don’t.

Simple fair at reasonable prices. A neighborhood restaurant that offers no-frills classic diner comfort food and American staples. Great service and friendly faces abound. Don’t expect gourmet food and you will not be disappointed.

The place looks great after their renovations… Always love the food here & affordable too. I went here for the first time since me and my wife got married. I got the ribeye stake cook to my liking, great portions and the place is clean and more spacious. The wait staff are great, friendly and we are always greeted with a smile Too bad they don’t have this in Bloomfield Hills… Definitely a must eat in place for the foodie in st. Clair shores… Lots of regulars and just wholesome family atmosphere… Check it out I know will again on that side of town…

The great rivalries of stage, screen, and sport have shaped our culture in many varied and unique ways and means. Jets vs. Sharks. Yankees fans vs. Red Sox fans. Mel Brooks vs. the Zucker Brothers(whoever wins… so do we!). Here and now, in our time, the next great rivalry churns — or has it been churning all this time? — in the humble industrial suburb of St. Clair Shores, wherein not ¼ mile apart, Athenian Shish Kabob and Grecian Table compete in the spirit of true Greek olympiads, the proverbial Homeric laurel wreath being the praise of Unilocalers who don’t know when to shut up(You rang?) and/or the business of the locals and lucky business travelers(You rang again?) who come to eat at them. Another day of trying to map out who supports which software and from which vendor they purchased it, another lunch that befell me. Having eaten my fill of too much meat at a BBQ place last night, I wanted to keep it light. A spanakopita would be perfect — shut up, I know it involves cheese and butter. It’s tons of spinach. At least I’m getting my vitamin on! — and thus, Grecian Table popped up on Unilocal. Listen. I’m not going to wax romantic about Grecian Table like my other recent reviews. Nor am I going to rant about the destructive influence of the modern hipster and their slimy tentacles of ruination bringing metric tons of irony to otherwise down-home unpretentious tasty food places(for the record, I am still of the opinion that all hipsters should be led into a building with conveyor belts and very nice scenery in one end, and in the other end, bulk amounts of fertilizer emerge for delivery to garden stores so you can ensure your plants bloom nicely) and instead, I can only praise Grecian Table for the fact that it is so authentic, as I was finishing up my order, out comes a Greek grandma with a small whiteboard. «We’ve got specials! You wanna see?» «No, nana, he already ordered.» «It’s OK,» I told her. «I got the spanakopita!» By the way — that spanakopita was on the menu for $ 6ish. When I ordered they asked what kind of soup I wanted, and what I wanted on my salad. All this for six bucks left me with a pleasant lunch itis. The lemon chicken rice soup was, in my opinion, just a touch better than Athenian Shish Kabob’s in that it wasn’t as thick, and had more chunks of chicken. The star got taken off for the salad, though — it was just iceberg lettuce and carrot shreds. I mean, yeah, getting your veggies is good, but I’d have preferred lettuce that isn’t just an insubstantiation of suspended water, the iceberg. Oh well. Still, six bucks got me all that! Plus a side of rice with nice Greek tomato sauce. That’s a bargain however you slice it! The spanakopita was among the best I’ve ever had. I was lucky enough to get a side piece, which meant there was a thick collection of phyllo dough near the edge. The spinach was perfectly done, with just enough feta to be interesting, and oh man did the top phyllo crumble perfectly as it should. I’m waiting for satin baseball jackets for the Athenians vs. the Grecians to do a perfectly-choreographed finger-snapping synchronized dance knife fight on stage to see how this ends out. I can’t say which is better. This is such good stuff.

First off, if you are going to eat here make it take out. It just takes quite a bit of time to get all the courses they give you. But if you do get take out, it is ready in less than 15 minutes and they give you baby greek salad, your entrée and a nice desert(either rice pudding or a very sweet custard treat with filo and honey) all for less than 9 bucks a head. If you order for two people you usually have to carry out 2 bags of stuff all for less than 17 bucks, which is a very good deal. The food itself is classic greek fare, but its all done very well and its all very fresh. The dressing for the greek salad is creamy and rich and quite good. The Pastitsio and Moussaka are both excellent here. The only reason I don’t grade higher is because I did try and eat inside once, and it wasn’t great. But don’t let that deter you from taking out their food, because it is very much worth the effort.

Food wise it’s 3 stars but the service SUCKS so it gets bumped down to 1. Ordered the hot tukey sandich which was really yummy, thick pieces of turkey with smashed taters and good old diner green beans. I asked the waitress for some extra gravy and after 10 minutes had to ask another waitress for some gravy and after another5 minutes asked a 3rd waitress. Finally got the gravy from the 3rd waitress. Ughhh such a shame because I’d like to go back.

This rating relies on proximity and value, I suppose if you had to drive a distance the value would go down. Michigan has a good amount of Greek Diners, Coney Islands can double as a Greek Diner so there is a lot of competition here. Why 4 stars? Actually I would give them 3.75 which is very good but it’s close enough to 4 so there you go. It’s very laid back, a simple dining room, I don’t think anything has been updated in quite awhile. Pros: Price. Consistency. Greek Combo: a ton of food and variety for just 8 bucks. You can pay 3 bucks more, go downtown and spend time and gas, have the same thing and it’s not much better. Lemon Rice soup is good. During Lent they have some good healthy choices like Halibut, tasty yet I could also feel my heart get cleaner as I ate. Fish & Chips. Other stuff is decent. Service. Owner is super nice. Locals fill the place up at dinner time and weekend breakfast. The food is not like bam! It’s more like really? That’s all I have to pay? Cons: Canned veggies. But this is a diner right?
