Rude service. Not the friendliest folks on Main Street. They want you in and out and never ask if you need anything. I’ve been there many times and always the same thing.

I really love this little store. It’s a unique shop with British, Irish, Scottish, and other European foods, candy, knickknacks, and history. You can buy tea, Claddagh rings, and European chocolate, among many other things. The British and Irish girl in me loves to explore this place, especially around the holidays.

I was walking around Main Street and was searching for a place to get some hot tea, this placed popped up on Unilocal so I got excited. I was really intrigued but my main reason for going here was to buy some tea thinking that it was an actual café. Well, it turned out that it’s just a shop that sells goodies from across the pond. Overall, I really liked the whole store. It was fun to peruse all the tea, candy, chocolate and other knick knacks that they were selling but at the same time I was disappointed that they weren’t selling any hot tea. Maybe they actually were but I didn’t see a sign and I wasn’t even greeted when I came in, the staff just seemed preoccupied. Oh well, at least now I know where to go if I am looking for British goodies.

Went in to purchase some British candy for my girls stockings. Not only did the man behind the counter not say hello, he barely spoke during my transaction. Patrons should be treated much better.

Oh how I love this shop! I’ve been in and out of here many times when I lived nearby and now whenever I come back for a visit — you got it — I go back. It’s a bit packed in there and can get crowded easily but it’s worth it. All sorts of British goodies like foods, candies, cards, tea, teapots, and Doctor Who stuff!!! I was beside myself when I found a 50th anniversary Doctor Who Christmas ornament. The store is always fun to visit and never stale with their merchandise. If we had access to an oven on our last visit we would’ve gotten some of the British foods they now have for sale. Pasties and steak and kidney pie — JOY! If you like things U.K. then please visit this shop — please!

Be prepared to step into the UK experience this shop owner has created in her charming store! The store offers a unique and reliable inventory of British goodies, ranging from candies, jams and teas to teapots, clothing, and personal care items. I buy something on every visit.

During a visit to St. Charles’ historic Main Street, we stumbled upon The English Shop and were transported across the pond! The shop is filled with all sorts of treats, candies, chips, teas, and gifts from England, Scotland and Ireland. They have a wide selection of curds, creams, and scone mixes. Their selection of teas is unbeatable. And they have kitchenware, teapots, cups, saucers, flags, pins, soaps, t-shirts, signs, cookbooks, jewelry, and more. They even have kilts!(You’ll have to check out their insta-kilts too!) It was pure paradise! We’ll make sure to visit again next time we visit the St. Louis area, and we highly recommend you do the same!

One of my favorite stores on Main Street. They have a nice selection of candy from Great Britian. Love the Jelly Babies! Also a lot of other products but I go for the candy.

There is an abundance of English, Welsh, Scottish and Irish stuff stuffed into this little space! All manner of tea is here, including the tea itself: teacups, teapots, tea cozies, tea strainers and other things I know not of but if you’re a tea affectionato, you will like the variety. The front room is floor-to-ceiling with all kinds of foodstuffs — from biscuits to chips to candy and oils; and a pretty spectacular jewelry case. The side room houses tea things, china, puzzles, hats, mucklucks and everything else from A to Z. My niece and her Brit husband just moved to St. Louis from the other side of the pond. I mentioned The English Shop to her, and they ALREADY knew all about it! I got a little caught up with the jewelry case when I espied a gorgeous tiger eye necklace on display.

Every kind of British candy I pined for after I left Europe I stumbled upon during my little trip to the English Shop. I just love this place. It’s a completely original idea and the store, though small, is just adorable and very well put together. If you are a tea drinker, I highly suggest going here. You will never find such a wide assortment of teas and tea pots. They also have cute little matching tea sets. Looking for a random article of clothing with the Union Jack on it? Guess what… they’ll have it. If they only sold cask ale it would be like walking into a corner shop in Manchester. If you looking for a taste of England without having to fork out $ 800 for a flight, I highly suggest stopping in for a look around.

The English Shop is where you can find all your English needs. But if you are looking for help with any grammar this might not be the place for you. No, this place is not the spot where you go for help with your sentence structure but a place to find all things related British. Yes, that is right, James Bond land, but here they don’t have crazy gadgets and beautiful women falling from the sky. What you will find here though is imported British food and gifts and many tea related things like pots, cups, and saucers. The English Shop is a neat place to stop by. I enjoyed walking through the store and looking at the different things that they had to offer. The English Shop is a must for anyone who feels that at any time they may just be a little bit English.

I loved this place long before I ever fell in love with London. Or England, for that matter. But now that I’m back from my new favorite Euro city, I feel a sense of wanderlust I can’t explain. I walked by here the other day and just plopped my face against the glass. The store was closed and I was like a sad little puppy dog, looking round at all the stuff that was so familiar to me back then. Walker’s shortbread and oat crackers. You can get the former everywhere, but the latter is SO hard to find(well the sugar-free oat crackers, at least). You can get a whole collection of fine British teas, cookies and candybars, treacle, etc. Even British tchotchke(sp?). It’s brilliant!
