With over 50 collective years spent in the grocery business and avid family cooks, we bring our passion for food to the shop. We truly believe family, friends and food create great memories.

Meet the Business Owner

Carol H.

Business Owner

Having grown up in aisles of St. Louis grocery stores, Carol Hurst lends her knowledge of food paired with friends and family to the Olde Town Spice Shoppe. Her father was at National Food Stores (which has since left the market) and there she worked a variety of roles including baking and working with fresh produce. She has worked for such major food companies as Nabisco and Thomas J. Lipton Tea Company.

Her cooking knowledge has been developed through her family and expanded upon with her inquisitive nature and exploratory cooking style. She has taught classes for a variety of topics including Canning, Tea, and Spices. Additionally, her tips and recipes can be frequently seen on morning tv segments in St. Louis.
