This was a fun place! As you know, I am a pizza buff(and if you didn’t, you know now). I look to visit as many pizza places I can. I have been excited to try Dewey’s take on pizza. The staff was very friendly, and this was a pretty busy location. Our server was new, and being trained by another employee. This was not a problem, because you have to learn sometime! He was wonderfully accommodating and made our visit quite comfy. Our sodas were always full, and the pizza was quite tasty. Décor was a bit contemporary upscale, but nothing you would need to dress up for. It’s just a nice, new, hopping facility. We ordered a salad and pizza to share. The salads were tasty, but a bit small. The pizza made up for that and was the star of the show. It is a «fresh» style pizza, almost Boston Style. Although this isn’t a favorite of mine in the pizza universe, it is still a contender and deserves some attention. Hit Dewey’s, see a movie and have a cup of coffee afterwards. Perfect date night!!!

GLUTEN-FREE(GF) PIZZACRUSTS!!! First, before you judge, I used to be a «normal» person and ate whatever I wanted. Yum! Dewey’s pizza is Dee-Lish. No need for special anything. Then stuff happened(insert scream from Psycho) and I am now unable to eat WHEAT. No more yummy pizza crusts, burger buns, etc. Then I discovered Dewey’s gluten-free pizzas. With fear and excitement, I ordered my first carry-out, a Caprece(spelling?) with freshly sliced tomatoes and basil and their«white sauce». Since then, I have ordered five more times and will discuss the varying quality later. At this point, you need to know that when you order a GF pizza, the Dewey’s employee will ask if you have an allergy or a food preference. I do not know if this affects how careful they are, or if when you say«allergy» they ONCE added some version of «ok, but I just want you to know there is a lot of flour all over the place here.» Hmmm. That was the last time, coincidentally? that I ordered from there. Anyway, their topping choices are amazing, and if you can’t decide, you can order a half-n-half, which I recommend. Go for an old favorite and try something new. The fontina cheese in their white sauce topping will make you never want plain old mozz again. Smell that? My GF Pizza is ready. I bring it home, open it up, and it is gorgeous. The bright red tomatoes, deep green basil leaves, and soft hues of white and palest yellow from the cheeses is mouthwatering. The crust is thin and crispy, like the edge of a cornbread, with a hint of sweetness. The edge of the crust is a bit too chewy, so I leave the bones on my plate like when I was a kid. That day was a 5-star day. Since then, I have had such inconsistency — and at least once some cross-contamination with flour that left me sick for 4 – 5 days — that I am taking a break from dear Dewey. On the worst days, the pizza has been so greasy(and it’s vegetarian) that it soaks the paper liner beneath it. One Wild Mushroom pizza had so few mushrooms on it I could’ve played connect the dots, while another time, it was a masterpiece of shroominess I refused to share! If you get the GF pizza, it doesn’t fare well as leftovers in the box. It needs to be stored in an airtight container. Otherwise, the crust becomes more like a rawhide chew you’d give to Rover.

The salads are like dessert; the pizza just incredibly tasty and the service is king too. I’ve been to the U. City location also. Carry-out is great too and timely. Atmosphere a little loud in St. Charles location but what can you do. I’ve been there when the servers are training others and obviously the do a good job of it. Try the California Pecan(something?) salad. Really unbelievable.

Best pizza I have ever ate! Great sauce, crust, and fresh toppings! And their desserts — YUM! Servers were attentive and all help out to keep your drinks full and get what you need. Fantastic place!

My only fault with Deweys is that I wish that everyone involved in making my pizza wore gloves. The only one wearing gloves was the dough maker. The guys putting the toppings on did not. I asked why aren’t they all wearing gloves and the response was that the oven is hot enough to kill anything. Of course, I had to ask if it kills hangnails and finger hairs too. They just gave me a rude look. It seems it’d be worth the tiny cost of gloves for all of the pizza makers — then it’d be 5 stars for sure!!! The pizza is Delicious! Like Seriously delicious! But we were bummed that they only serve pizza and salad. It’d be great if they added some bread or appetizers while we’re waiting for our pizza :)

Was expecting something a little bit grander. Ordered a half extra pepperoni, half Hawaiian 13 inch to go but had wine at the bar. The pizza crust very under cooked, doughy, but I was able to fix it at home in the oven with an additional 5 minutes on 450. Their wine list certainly needs some work but the service is very good.

Awesome! Love that you can watch them make the pizzas, my daughter loves that. The Poe is my all time favorite and a large salad feeds my family of 4.

Very different pizza, but different in an awesome way! Dewey’s was recommended by the gentleman at the front desk of the Courtyard and I am so glad that checked it out. I got a Tito Santana, which is basically a taco salad on a pizza and delightful; not only were the toppings excellent, but the crust was true New York Style and I loved it. They even have gluten-free crusts, which I’ll bring my wife back to try.

Great pies!!! It’s easy to be picky about pizza. This place can be summed up in one word — FRESHNESS. Every ingredient is fresh and tasty! We got the Wild Mushroom and the special of the night, which was a taco-style pie. And the crust was perfectly crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. You won’t be let down, promise!

Crazy good. The pizza is so clean — weird way to describe it, but it’s pretty and tasty and just right. Their peppercorn ranch salad is delicious. They have a formidable beer selection, and the staff are friendly. Go there, now.

Stopped in for lunch during a convention. Pleasantly surprised! In full disclosure I’m not typically a pizza fan but this was good! The salads were fresh, crisp and portioned well. The white pizza with vegetables was an excellent alternative to your standard pizza. The décor is open, fresh and clean. The staff was friendly and attentive. I would recommend and return!

Great place, love their pizza. They had a snafu in the kitchen and the manager came over and apologized about it and took care of the pizzas for us. I thought this was such a nice gesture and excellent customer service that they have def won my business. I will always recommend them to family and friends because of the way they care for their customers. Besides, their pizzas are awesome. My fav is «Ryan’s Inferno,» so next time you’re craving buffalo wings and pizza, why not get the best of both worlds and just go to Dewey’s!

Dewey’s is just fantastic. Totally worth the hour wait on a Saturday night. Okay, so let’s get right to it: to start I had the side harvest salad. And oh my goodness… That salad was freaking amazing! It is like mixed greens, this apple cider creamy vinaigrette, figs, bacon, pumpkin seeds, and Boursin. Seriously the most amazing combo. I think I’m going to try to recreate this salad at home because I’m already craving it the next day. On my favorite salads list… This is either 1, or 2. Honestly, I wish I would’ve gotten that as my meal. So when it comes to pizza… My friend and I split the Ryan’s inferno, and the Edgar Allen Poe. I thought for sure when going into it Ryan’s inferno would be my #1… But I enjoyed the Edgar Allan Poe more. Ryan’s inferno has all the components of eating some buffalo wings… Obviously, buffalo chicken, ranch, Gorgonzola, mozzarella for good measure, and then some crunchy celery on top. It totally was good, not going to lie, but it was a little underwhelming for me. The Edgar Allen Poe just really held its own against the Ryan’s inferno. The EAP had garlic, olive oil, mushrooms, olives, tomatoes, goat cheese, and maybe something else I can’t remember… Anyways, something about mushrooms and goat cheese together on a pizza just gets me. So delicious. Dewey’s really knows how to make quality pizza crust! So why the 4 stars you ask? I was absolutely blown away by my salad, but not my pizza. It’s good, I totally enjoyed it, but I have yet to find a piece that outshines that seasonal salad. I absolutely will be back though. And I will search far and wide for the pizza from Dewey’s that makes me melt, and weak in the knees.

Going shopping. Stopped for some lunch. Staff very nice. Manager came over and talked to us. Nice clean place. Our cups never were under half empty and all the staff worked together to help all the tables. Very helpful to recommend what was good to try since it was our 1st time there. And it was a good choice. We will go again.

Oh sweet spirits of St. Louis… if you are rating this 5 starts, you literally need to drive to the city and have some decent pizza. This is better than Dominos, but as one of the other reviewers said, a pale imitation of real pizza. But choices are limited out here in St. Charles, and it’s sure as hell better than Papa Johns…

Solid 3 star place, not 4.5 stars for pizza. I was thinking this place was on par with a Frank Pepe’s up in New Haven, CT. Having trouble getting my head around where to classify this place. Of course it isn’t Domino’s(duh), but it isn’t a Napoletana either. My crust came out looking like pretzel on the edges. Dr Dre was OK, but the veggies weren’t cooked enough, half way between cooked and raw, made it funky considering they put tomatoes on after its cooked to keep them from being soggy which actually was a nice feature. Also had the seasonal meat meat pizza with red sauce and it was decent. The crust was cooked well, had a little pull to it. Thicker than a New York style but still thin. Not much flavor to the crust and can see why others say it has a cardboard flavor as it soaks that up from the serving cardboard platter(they should serve on a metal tray). Only saw an option for gluten free, no wheat and no deep dish here. If you dropped these toppings on a great thin style or pan style crust I think you’d move this pie up one notch. The red sauce and white sauce are good from a flavor perspective. Had a caesar salad which was ok, the dressing was extremely mild but way too much sliced cheese. Couldn’t even tell what it was, large thick slices of Mozzarella? If that was Parmesan then find a different one and slice was thinner and smaller as it over powers. Decent selection of basic wines and beers, no complaints there. The ambiance was good, no real complaints about service or the location, those were all fine, but if it’s a pizza joint and gets 4.5 Unilocal stars, then it had better have some stellar pies which it does not live up to!

De-effing-licious. I had lunch here on a weekday afternoon with my blended family, composed of my dad, stepmom, and mom. We’re all different, with very different tastes, but that was not an issue for Dewey’s. They had no problem with customizations, and thanks to their half-and-half pizza option, we didn’t have to compromise on just one or two types of pizza to share. Nope. We ordered two half-and-half pizzas for a total of four flavor options. BAH-BAM! The order: One half Green Lantern, half Socrates’ Revenge One half Porky Fig(seasonal), half create-your-own Two house salads One harvest salad(seasonal) Most of the customizations were mine, actually. I replaced the olive oil on Socrates’ Revenge with red sauce.(Because a pizza without tomato sauce is just bread with stuff on it.) I also modified the harvest salad. I kept the figs, bacon, and pumpkin seeds, but I replaced the Boursin cheese with goat cheese and the apple cider honey vinaigrette with their creamy balsamic vinaigrette to create what essentially was the lovechild of a house salad and harvest salad. My salad was fantastic. Absolutely perfect. I’ve since ordered the harvest salad – customized in exactly the same way – at another location, but it just wasn’t quite as nice as the first one I had in St. Charles. Socrates’ Revenge was a good pizza, but Green Lantern was the winner for me. It is made with red sauce, mozzarella cheese, minced garlic, mushrooms, goat cheese, artichokes, and pesto. I can’t imagine ever ordering another type of pizza here. Green Lantern forever. I did not try the create-your-own or the seasonal Porky Fig, but my stepmom raved about the latter. In fact, we went to another Dewey’s the following week so that she could have the Porky Fig again. And maybe – just maybe – I wanted more Green Lantern. One thing I appreciate about Dewey’s in general is the service, and this location did not disappoint. Whenever a beverage was low, the glass was whisked away to be refilled. On this visit, we also had a waiter who was particularly informative. My stepmom raved about the crust, so our waiter gave us a little info on their fresh dough-making process. Also, on a previous visit at another location, I was pretty sure I had overheard a customer’s request for ice cream declined with, «Sorry, we actually don’t have a freezer here.» I decided to ask our waiter about this, and sure enough, Dewey’s is freezer-free. If things like artichokes and goat cheese scare you, fear not. You can get a «normal» pepperoni pizza here. I just wouldn’t recommend it. Dewey’s is a tad pricy, and you can get a pepperoni pizza anywhere. No, go to Dewey’s for their specialty pizzas and salads. Or, do whatever you want. ‘Merica.

I know there’s a lot of good pizza to choose from here in St. Louis and depending on the type of pizza you prefer you may even disagree with the following statement I am about to make but here goes nothing… «DEWEY’S ISTHEBESTPIZZAINTOWN» The crust is as soft as a baby’s bottom, the Green Lantern and the Billy Goat are perfected with the topping of goat cheese(my favorite cheese in the whole wide world) and the service is consistently consistent. This is the newest location and I like it because they have outdoor seating unlike the other’s. Wait… the seating could belong to Five Guys with is right next door. Nonetheless, I sat there and enjoyed my pizza. I say they should share the patio furniture and everyone’ll be happy.

What. A. Pizza. My son and I came here looking for a sit down pizza joint. This place is terrific. Fancy for a pizza place, and the pizza delivers the same thought put into the design of the dining. The meatball pizza was our favorite. We also had the Bronx Bomber which was delicious as well. Good service. Good pizza. Good dining. 5 stars.
