Scarlett O’Hara’s

I walked into Scarlett’s because from the curb its so unique. I was expecting average to below average food and service because that seems to be how St. Augustine offers service. I was pleasantly surprised that at Scarlett’s, this is not the case. The service was excellent and «Kaye’s meatloaf» is outstanding. This destination is a «must» if your visiting St. Augustine.

Food was OK but not worth a 40 minute wait, don’t order a cocktail with ice it will be half melted by the time you get it

I had the southern fried chicken with mac n’ cheese and mashed potatoes. My husband had the shrimp and grits with broccoli and cheese. The fried chicken was some of the best I have ever had. Great flavor, moist and yummy crispy skin. I LOVE their mac n’ cheese. In fact– everything we had was delicious. The portions are huge. We could have easily split one of those dinners. The only negative I could say is I would have preferred the side dishes be a little warmer (they were more room temperature than hot) and the cornbread was chilled. I would have preferred warmed up cornbread– makes it easier to spread butter on it.

Got to check this place out great bands great food loved every minute of my trip there will diff. be back

Decent food, sangria was great! We came in for a quick bite around noon. Ordered the sliders and they were pretty ok. Happy hour was happening so I had a sangria and my girlfriend got a loaded hot chocolate. The drinks were good and a fair price.

Upon walking St George street, and being incredibly unsure of what we were in the mood for (typical), I remembered seeing this neat building on our trolley tour, so we stopped in for a warm meal. We were asked if we minded being up in the «ghost bar» area, and as we don’t drink, I said sure, as long as we had a table.
We got placed right next to the bathtub that George Coolee was drowned in, and we had lots of tourist fun with the tub and his picture, and the rumors of his ghost presence. We played cards and enjoyed a nice meal.
I had the shrimp and grits. The shrimp was good, it had a blackened sort of seasoning on it, maybe even an old bay type taste. The grits though, were the best I’ve ever had. They were cheesy and flavorful, and incredible. My side of collard greens didn’t even have butter on them, though.
My mom had the corn and crab chowder, and it was really incredible. She ordered a grilled cheese with it, however, and the waitress didn’t ask about the cheese that was inside. When it arrived with American cheese, which we don’t even consider cheese, we asked for a new one with «actual cheese» inside. It was just generic, and tasted like something I’d make on a lazy effort day in the skillet.
The atmosphere was nice and «local» feeling as opposed to touristy.

We’ve eaten here a couple of times and it’s been really good. Food was good, drinks were good and the live music is always good. Service is sharp, too. This will be a regular place for us.

I’m not sure who is writing these reviews, but we loved this place for a late lunch on Christmas weekend. Wait staff was great, beer cheap ($ 2 domestics) and cold, and very good food. My hubby is a grits snob and feel in love with the shrimp & grits (there’s cheese & chorizo in them folks). Get the sweet potato mash side & broccoli & cheese sides, they’re awesome.

Great little place! We always stop by when we’re in the area. $ 2 domestics all day every day! Food wasn’t bad either. Not a lot of flavor in the burger but I still enjoyed it. Came with coleslaw (completely flavorless lol) and you get to choose a side. I chose collard greens– I’ve had better. My man got the hungry soldier (chicken bacon bbq sandwich) and he order Mac n cheese side but they brought him fries. He loved his sandwich though. We didn’t say anything because the fries were good. I wouldn’t try eating here at dinner on the weekend. We were there at 9pm and it was slammed! Our poor waitress was all over the place but still did a great job. Everyone is friendly. All in all, I consider this more of a drinking place but I also have high standards for flavor. If you’re into bar food and cheap beer with a cool atmosphere– this is your spot.

I went for the green tomatoes and fried chicken. I asked if I could have the fried green tomatoes be my accompanying dish rather than the two choices – even though they priced out the same, I was turned down. I knew it would be too much food for me. So my husband, who does not really care for chicken and who was going to order sliders, ordered the chicken. We had plenty to take home. The food was ok. No one cleared the dirty dishes while we decide about dessert. We decide no. I had an okay mint julep and my husband had a good bourbon milk shake.
I had given it a 3, but my husband said it should be a 2 because his chicken was so dry – he barely ate 2/​3s of his chicken breast and a leg and gave the rest to me take home. He did like his shake and sitting out on the porch watching the traffic.

No more steamed oyster buckets?! This was the only reason we ever visited Scarlett O’Hara’s. We won’t be returning.

I always make sure I stop in here when I’m in Saint Augustine. This review is only for drinks, and only at the outside bar, so take it with a grain of salt.
I love catching happy hour here. The bartenders are always friendly, it’s generally a fun and laid back crowd at the outside bar. Beware, you can smoke there, so if you aren’t into that you can go inside or move to a table. At night they have musicians playing. They are over in the corner of the porch on the other side, and the sound isn’t too overwhelming so you can keep a conversation going. Prices are about average. My bone to pick with this place is I never get decent service on the patio (and data? forget it!).
I really come here for the atmosphere. Make sure you stop by for a drink when you’re in town.

Sliders were good. Everyone enjoyed their food. The fried pillsbury biscuits were a nice fattening touch. MMMMM. I love carbs.

Scarlett’s is a pretty good place to get a meal and have a few drinks upstairs or downstairs on their covered patio. On any given day, you can enjoy the scene with tourists passing by on the trolleys while sipping your beers on your stool listening to live music.
There’s easy parking right around the corner so you don’t have to walk far if you’re lucky. The staff is pretty friendly here and treat you like a local.
Very laid back atmosphere with good wings and cold beer in the oldest town in America. Fun, solid bar that’s been around for a while. I’ll always come back.

Scarlett O’Hara’s is obviously a tourist trap. I’ve actually had some ok times there, but outside of happy hour there really is no reason to be there.
The service is normally pretty bad, although I’ve had a few good bartenders there before.
The food is the epitome of frozen bar food — like I always say, there isn’t something inherently wrong with frozen food outside of the calories, but if I’m paying for frozen food it better be cheap. Everything is fried and it is somewhat tasty, but St. Augustine has way more creative restaurants worth your time.
The one thing that can’t be complained about is the happy hour — I can’t remember if it was $ 2 or $ 3 for a well but everytime I’m there for happy hour I’m feeling very good before I’ve spent $ 10 and in an expensive area like old town St. Augustine that has some merit. It might be worth going to just to say you did, but make sure it is for happy hour and consider skipping food.

Had some Scarlett o’rita did not eat so can’t judge the food. drinks were good. Nice place. Visited on a Monday, football night. Nice place to watch the game.

Went here in hopes to enjoy bar hopping while vacationing and were disappointed they called last call at 11. Granted, it was a Tuesday and the scene was slow, but we would have liked to stay longer. There was chill live music and it seemed like the place may be more fun on the weekends or during more peak season.

Cool bar and grill that is a staple of St Augustine. Went here sat outside at the Bar. The bartender Josh was attentive and suggested the fried green tomatoes which were excellent. Crispy on the outside with Panko style crust and soft on the inside Just pure goodness. Washed it down with a Shock Top and it was yummy!

Scarlett’s is a place I’ve wanted to try ever since reading Gone With the Wind. Since this was the first time I ventured to St Aug after turning 21, I gave it a try!
My boyfriend and I sat outside at the bar and enjoyed some live music. The drink specials were awesome– $ 3 sangria, $ 2 domestics, and more. I was impressed. This is a nice casual bar with a fun feel.

Oh no — its no longer an oyster bar! The steamed oysters were the reason we visit here time after time. Won’t be back until the oysters return.
