Wow! Like a dork I forgot to handle the catering for a lunch meeting I had and didn’t realize it until 8:30 am with an all day meeting and lunch at noon. This meant I couldn’t pick up the order from somewhere so I needed to have something delivered. I called several places and they either weren’t open or couldn’t deliver. I emailed The Sandwich Spot on 65th and they emailed me back right away(even though they weren’t open yet). They were able to deliver the order by noon and everyone was so impressed with the food. Thank you, thank you!

A very huge selection of sandwiches and salads. They have fresh BBQ trip rip on Wednesdays and Fridays that’s amazing. Everything tastes fresh and prices are reasonable. Much better then some of the«other» sandwich places in the same area. Give it a try, what do you have to loose.

Normally the Sandwich spot is an excellent experience. This afternoons purchase was the opposite. The young man that made my order was lacking in his capacity to be proficient in both customer service, and his sandwich building skills. As he mumbled his way through assisting me, day dreaming of missing out on some euphoric escapade with fellow entitled slackers, he managed to assemble something close to eatable. Thankfully the spot uses choice cold cuts, an produce, that saved the day! I will still eat at your restaurants, just not this one.

This is the absolute best place to get a sandwich in Sacramento with Mr. Pickles right behind them. I’m a vegetarian and they have awesome vegetarian sandwiches. The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly and will attempt to assist you in whatever way possible. They have veggie sandwiches that aren’t on the menu and my favorite veggie sandwich is called the veggie bomb. I have been going in for the last 5 years and was in there every other day back when I lived at the lofts. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a great sandwich!

Don’t come here if you’re in a hurry. Try subway. Slow service. They try to multi task but sometimes that means you wait even longer while they make the sandwich for the guy behind you at the same time. They give a deal for sac state students, so maybe that makes it worth it for that group.

This was my second visit to this business. The first time I tried it was at the location by my school, Sac City. This is a great place to grab a great sandwich and it will definitely fill you up and then some. I would choose this place over a Subway or fast food joint anyway ! Currently my favorite spot, I need to come more !

My favorite sandwich is the grilled chicken with pesto. The bread is tasty #carbsoncarbs. The portions(protein to carbs ratio) are generous and sure to fill you up. If you’re a student(with ID) you get a discount. They even have Maui Style(the brand) of potato chips so that’s a must for me too. My go to place to eat before cramming for finals, hanging out, and to catch a game. Service is always on point too!

I’m giving two stars only for the girl that is pleasant. Other times I have been there your not even acknowledged when you walk in. Everytime I’ve called to place an order no one answers the phone which is frustrating cause then your in there forever it seems like. What’s worse is when you get home(mind you we don’t live close so we make the drive) your order is wrong. Pretty frustrated. Sandwichs are good when made right this time neither of our sandwichs were made right not sure how that happens when it’s written down. We order extras like bacon today which we were charged for and didn’t get. At nearly $ 10 a sandwich and not getting what we pay for we will not be back. We spent $ 41 today and 2 of our sandwichs were wrong.

I like their sandwiches. Been here on several occasions. Place gets busy during lunch time and parking in this plaza is such a pain in the butt so get here before the rush which is 11:30−1ish. Friendly staff and they work with urgency to get you on with life. Would come back, just not during the rush

I’ve passed by this location a million times and have heard of this sandwich establishment before but it never appealed me to stop in and grab a bite. This location is at the corner of 65th and Folsom Blvd, tucked between Jamba Juice & Supercuts I think. I just got off of work and wanted to kill time before yoga at 4:30pm and was super hungry so I decided to give this place a try. Once I was inside, it was quite small but with adequate seating. Luckily no one was there because I stood there for a good 10min unsure of what to order. There were almost too many options. I think there’s 22 types of sandwich to choose from. Staff was friendly and helpful. I decided to try their lunch special, the tri– tip sandwich on sourdough with pepper jack. This special is only on Wednesdays & Fridays. Staff said they BBQ the tri– tip on location so its super fresh. The portion was quite big. I would’ve been able to share half with someone. It was really tasty and it had a great flavors but it was a bit pricey, almost $ 11 for just one sandwich. They give student discount if you show your student ID. Which makes sense since Sac State is around the corner and they get a lot students coming in. Unfortunately I graduated 10 yrs ago. So no discount but I bet if I was in jeans and my Sac State sweatshirt, I could be mistaken for a college student. Overall, the sandwich was pretty but wished it was cheaper which is why I give it 4 stars. I don’t know if I would go out of my way to eat here but I would come if someone wanted to eat there.

The food was«just ok.» There was very little meat on the sandwiches that we ordered. For the price, I expected a much better sandwich. The staff were quick and courteous though. 3 stars.

While the sandwiches aren’t exactly cheap, they taste great. One of the best sandwiches I’ve had in a while. I’ll definitely visit here again.

Love this place. It’s really good. The 19 Mendoza line with prosciutto is bomb. Also they are super generous with their serving of avocado. Oh and they have tri tip sandwiches every Wednesday and Friday. It’s really good on the wheat bread. This place always has me coming back.

This was the original SS that I ever went to a few years ago and FINALLY made it back. And HOLYCRAPBATMAN that was one of the best sandwiches I have ever had. Easily in my top ten. I got the Jimmy Boy and OOOOHHHHH how wonderful Jimmy was. It is Roast Beef, Turkey, Bacon and avo. Everything was so perfect and the dutch crunch bread was on point(my inner Guy Fieri coming out of me). Such a good sandwich. I was sniffing my fingers hours later because the sandwiches stink was still on me. Just glorious.

I can change my review if they make my sandwich right. First thing I asked them was which sandwich has bacon? And the only thing not on my sandwich was bacon? It’s not cool to eat a turkey avocado bacon without the bacon. Just isn’t the same!

I absolutely miss this place when coming to visiting here! Now I have no reason to come to Sac, because my boyfriend no longer lives here. Sadly, the closet location to me now is an hour away, which is extremely too far for a sandwich. Any way, I got the hornet sandwich on dutch crunch bread and it was probably the best sandwich I have had so far and I absolutely miss it. I never had a sandwich with cream cheese on it and it was amazingly good. The bread had a nice crunch to it and the whole sandwich was just perfect. I do not like mustard at all, but the sandwich was so good that the mustard did not even bother me. The employees were also great as well. I wish they will establish some locations in LA!

There is really nothing special about the Sandwich Spot in my opinion. Pretty okay sandwiches at an average price. The major downfall, and hence the two star rating, is that they always take FOREVER to make your food. I’ve gone in to this location a couple of times as the only one in the place and I’m still left wondering what they are doing behind the counter. I understand slow service at a deli like Safeway where they aren’t set up for optimal sandwich production, but this is literally all that they serve here. Like I said, the sandwiches themselves are always«okay» but there are just so many places that I would consider«good» or «great» that I would rather go to before Sandwich Spot.

The sandwiches are pretty good here. Had the #22 pastrami, Swiss cheese, sauerkraut, and 1000 island; it was pretty good but not too flavorful. Also had the #23 meatball, marinara, and provolone, which was more tasty.

So I say to myself, «Self, is twenty minutes enough time to hit the restroom at the OD and still have time to get a sandwich at Mr. Pickles?» I hit the bathroom at the OD, and start searching for Mr. Pickles, which, according to other Unilocalers, was replaced by The Sandwich Spot almost three years ago. Oops. However, as far as I can tell, the only difference between Mr. Pickles and The Sandwich Spot is that the latter carries pesto sauce, which I happen to adore tremendously. So in I went. I was so focused on the perfectly chiseled face of the man making my sandwich that it’s kind of hard to remember much else about my experience, but I’ll try. At the other Sandwich Spot that I’ve been to, I’m obsessed with this sandwich called the Cougar, but it wasn’t on the menu here. I told the clerk that I normally get this sandwich with pastrami, bacon, cream cheese, avocado, and pesto for $ 7.99. I thought that he might suspect I was making this up(I wasn’t), but he just went with it. Like Jenni T. said in her review, the amount of avocado on my sandwich was pretty disappointing, and I didn’t taste it at all, and had to look to make sure it was there. Other than that, the sandwich was amazing, and it was enough food to last me all day. The bread, meat, and produce were all super fresh and flavorful. This location offers some kind of discount or meal deal for CSUS students and SMUD employees, but I didn’t ask what it was because, like I said, I got distracted.

I heard so many good things about The Sandwich Spot that I decided to drop in last week for lunch. It was about 1:00 on a weekday so I expected it to be busy, but there was only one other person in front of me and three people working so no wait! I ordered a Veggie Sandwich(#10 I think) with cheese, avocado, lettuce, cucumber, olives, and garlic«Secret Sauce» spread on a wheat roll. All employees were friendly and helpful and in a few minutes I was on my way! I thought the sandwich was average, the wheat roll was nice and fresh and chewy, and the garlic spread added some extra flavor, but other than that, nothing really stood out about the sandwich. My main complaint? My Veggie Sandwich was $ 7.05. Now if I am going to pay $ 7+ for a veggie sandwich with no meat I better have a ton of toppings like at least half an avocado… but not here. The«avocado» I received was a small swipe of avocado spread which I couldn’t taste at any point in the meal. In comparison to other sandwich places, I would rate The Sandwich Spot above Subway but below Mr. Pickles/Beach Hut in terms of taste and value. I can go to Corti Bros down the street(or any other sandwich place) and get a veggie sandwich for $ 5.00 or less that that blows this place out of the water. I’m glad I tried The Sandwich Spot, and maybe they have good meat sandwiches, but for veggies I can find better sandwiches for my money elsewhere.
