The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints

I never thought this day would come!
I finally got to see what the Mormon’s are all about. Sadly, they were pretty low key and somewhat similar to mass and or a christian service — although with some obvious differences (i.e. John Smith)!
I’ve been really good friends with a girl who is Moron for a long time. I’ve always asked questions and she’s obligingly answered them. But this was the day I’d get to see it first hand. I think I put too much emphasis in this big day, I forgot the difference between the regular churches and their sacred temples.
They offer a baby blessing, which was why I was in attendance. It was a very sweet gesture. The baby is brought to the front and a group of men bless the baby. They ad lib, no written structure to the blessing, just a feeling and their gut instinct. It really is a touching moment for friends & family.
Also, we this day happened to be the day where they allow anyone to give «testimonials» for about 30 minutes. Anyone in the church can come up and speak — this was interesting to say the least. This was probably the most entertaining part of my visit.
The group of people at this «ward» were very polite. They welcomed us into their church, shook our hands, and mingled afterwards. We all have a our own choice of religion, however it is a warm feeling when everyone is welcoming!
I’ll never become Mormon, but I’m glad I tried it for an hour!
