Super 8 Motel Florin Road

If I could I would give this place 0 stars. I’m going to start with the customer service when I checked in the guy was very pleasant he had a great personality. When I got into the non smoking room it looked a HOT MESS!!! everything was old and raggedy, blankets had holes in it, TV was static no clear channels at all. And the room smelled like smoke like seriously smh the worse hotel I ever been to in life. I was so mad I had to ask for my money back and I couldn’t even get my money back cause I guess after 5mins money is not refundable because of the prostitutes running in an out of the place. I can’t express how upset I am about this place it was just the worse.

The only reason I am giving this location 4 stars is because the room I was in didn’t have bed bugs! Which I was very happy about.
The front desk guy isn’t very friendly.

The location is great. The room is spacious but it looks too old. One thing that I didn’t like was the window facing the other tower of the hotel, witch is something to consider if enjoy privacy. Im pretty sure the other guests could see my room as I saw their. The staff is really prepared and helpful.

I think this place is doubling as a brothel, noisy uncouth people in and out of rooms every hour, slamming doors, yelling in the halls. If you can stay anywhere else, even under a bridge, you’d be better off!

WHY I WENT HERE:
— had a business trip up in Sacramento and needed a place to stay for the night
— this was close to my client and well within the budget
THE LOOK (FROM THE OUTSIDE):
— first off, I went to CSUS and have lived in Sacramento during my time there, and knew that Florin is pretty hood
— when I drove up, I saw that this hotel is right off the freeway, which is pretty convenient
— the thing is, you have to go around the Denny’s and past a thrift store to get to this place, which just feels like it’s been placed in an extended parking lot
THE LOOK (FROM THE INSIDE):
— I was confused as to what the lobby/​check-​in desk was located because after parking I walked in and immediately saw a breakfast area as well as the rooms (I had to flag down a maid to direct me to the front desk)
— the room itself was SKETCHY
— the smoke alarm and sprinkler right in front of the door of my room were covered in plastic
— the room itself smelled like cigarette smoke
— there was an unknown stain on the bed (that decoration cloth placed on the actual blanket)
— when I hopped into the bed, it was very comfortable, but I saw blonde hairs that were sticking to the blanket… were these not washed beforehand?
— the fridge is pretty big and was cool, so that was good
— the bathroom was decent, but I saw the bathtub had some shotty work done to it on the wall portion of the shower where the railing goes into the wall
CUSTOMER SERVICE:
— the female that checked me in was just going through the motions and wasn’t the most pleasant person
— when I checked out the morning after, the young man at the front desk seemed more personable

So I tend to do alot of motel shopping, and staying on the weekend with my kids. We’ve done this Super 8 quite a few times now and were satisfied but this last stay was just the pits and unworthy (of my $ 68.00). «A Must Say, Review Post «. First off they finally hired someone different at the front desk (a plus) Second, the morning flow was terrible. The breakfast why we even cone was not in order by the least the juice was watered down it was only one juice you could choose from, the cereal looked old and not restocked in awhile just out there for whoever takes it. The one kid that kept lerkn kept taking all the danishes, Oh and wait there’s only one to chose from which is raisen cinnamon flavor, the waffle maker didn’t work, they had to pull another one cause I had to complain, a long line started to form for the waffles (duh why people come there, a plus) I had to stop was doing cause it was already time for me to get my kids to school. All in a all if your gona spend almost have of a bill to stay somewhere, where you think your paying your cost you’d want the ritght service. I nean the new flat screens are a plus but they also changed the bedding now the covers are thin like sheets and they have a post card to reuse your towel… What is going on with this well establishment me and my children enjoyed going to at one time to get away.

We stayed at this Super 8 for eighteen days. We needed a place to stay between apartments. This was so much more than we expected.
We were given a fantastic room rate for our extended stay. The manager, Vinni, was incredibly friendly and professional.
This place is technically a hotel, the rooms are all indoors, in halls, in a three-​story building. The elevator is kind enough to keep the door open long enough to get your bags out before it closes.
Being on a very tight budget, we made use of the amenities offered. The continental breakfast offers waffles, pastries, coffee, orange and apple juices, toast and fresh fruit. Oh, and two kinds of cereal!
The room was nicely decorated, with contemporary features. I fell in love with the huge, circular mirror!
We stayed on the third floor, which was very peaceful. Our infant son was able to nap comfortably every day.
Our room included a desk with an incredibly comfortable chair, free Wi-​Fi access, large flat screen television with premium channels, as well as hookups for our laptop to watch Netflix.
There was ample room to hang clothing, a comfy bench which we used to put our suitcases on to act as drawers.
The mini-​fridge and microwave allowed us to store and prepare meals, saving us even more money. Though I didn’t make use of them, there are also snack and drink vending machines, washer and dryers and an ice machine.
The comfy armchair was so nice to relax in while nursing the baby.
The bed was soft, clean, and had that unmatched snuggly feeling that comes from professional sheet-​tucking. There were so many pillows!
The housekeeping staff were courteous, prompt and hard-​working. We had clean towels and linens whenever we wanted them. The soap and shampoo both smelled fancy and didn’t dry out my skin.
There was enough space in our room for our baby’s playpen and for my six-​year-​old daughter to «slumber party» with her blankets and stuffed animals. They also have cots and cribs available if you need them.
The pool was cold, the chairs folded in many different ways, making sunbathing very comfortable.
This place is next to a Denny’s and a pretty awesome thrift store. It is right off of the freeway, with plenty nearby to do.
I can’t express how very pleased I was with the whole stay. It sure was a luxury to have our room a heavenly 73 degrees all day!
I highly recommend this place, and it will be my first choice if we ever need a room again.
To those who have had a bad experience in the past, I urge you to try another stay.

I feel like I write the same review every single time for these types of places. But that’s because it’s essentially a universal experience — for the price you pay, you know what you’re going to get.
This Super 8 doesn’t deviate from that. It’s a budget chain, and you’re not going to get any frills. That said, you do get a reasonably comfortable bed, mostly quiet (nice considering this motel’s proximity to the freeway), and not disgusting. The room is kept clean by the staff, although people will always try to smoke, sadly. Our room was billed as non-​smoking, though it was clear someone did anyway. No amount of air freshener could mask it.
Still — in spite of the smell — all things considered, this was worth the $ 50 we paid.

This was the wrost expderience at a hotel I’ve had. we left the second evening, and stayed somewhere else, willing to eat the money we’d spent. There was no blanket on our bed, just an empty douvet cover and a thin sheet. There was pounding outside our room and above us all night, people running around the building screaming, somebody screaming from 4 am to 7 am straight. I called the front desk and they did nothing. We switched rooms the second day but it was the same, only difference was the second room had a blanket. We left the second evening and the man at the fron desk told us we could call somebody named Dave the next day but we weren’t going to get a refund. I called
the next day who we booked through) and after an hour I finally spoke to somebody and got a refund. This ruined our trip. The pool was a joke, so dirty and disgusting looking, the rooms were dirty and disgusting and the staff was rude and unprofessional. As soon as we walked in and a tacky girl acted like we were bothering her when we checked in, I shoulda run for the hills. Or the Embassy Suites. Or a dr. to treat all the diseases I caught jsut from pulling in the parking lot.

Clean hotel. Nice decorations for a budget room! Views are decent too.

Lets start out by saying this in a motel, so my expectations and this review will be based on that. I looked at prior Unilocal posts, and whomever said that they installed hardwood floors and granite, must not be speaking of this place. As this place has wall to wall carpet and the bathrooms counter tops are not even granite plated.
This location being right of the 99 freeway, one can expect that they would instal Soundproof Windows, but they were not, on the bright side, you could open them! Speaking of noise, the noise level inside is quite high, every time someone left their room or closed a door, you could hear it.
Moving on to the inside of the room, the pillows were small and not very suitable for sleeping, 2 of them together didn’t even make for one pillow to sleep on. Nevertheless, the room was clean, towels are fully stocked. They motel also offers free wi-​fi, they have 4 open networks going simultaneously and if you are lucky enough to get a connection to one, the strength and speed are not that great.
On the brights side they offer free breakfast, if you can call a half rotten banana, cereal with milk, or make your own waffle breakfast.

Disaster! **NO STARS**
1. The terms of the booking changed at check-​in. The website said one thing but the hotel manager changed the terms at check-​in when I had no choice but rent the room.
2. There were no «pillows» for the bed. Imagine three small square «couch throw pillows» instead of long fluffy pillows; that’s what I got.
3. The wi-​fi internet was absolutely horrible… the «ethostream» was 150k downstream and 180k upstream. I mean, it was like dial-​up.
4. The Television «rattled» and «buzzed» as I watched it.
I would steer clear of the Super 8 Motel at Florin and HWY 99.

Old, old, old. Carpets, furnishings, etc. Overall the room was OK for one night at a very cheap price. However, bathroom sink didn’t drain properly.
Back parking lot occupied by junkies so buyer beware.
The area is pretty run down and has that hinkie feeling.

WOW.
I came checked in a room recently and was surprised how the rooms have changed! The room looks so much fancier and not so cheap looking. They replaced the carpeting with hardwood floors, fresh paint throughout the building, bathrooms remodeled, and better décor.
I was very pleased and was so comfortable. the windows open, ALL THE WAY! Thats one thing I must have, fresh air! Motel 6 is so claustrophobic! The parking is okay, but I dont like the entrance. One way in & out, and the hallways are super narrow. Great value and room, if you dont mind loud noisy traffic noise then check this place out!

Usually I am a hotel snob, but because we were only going to be in town to see the Deftones for a night we took a chance.
The area it’s in is questionable, but like I said it was one night so we figured we’d be fine. We got there, checked in went to our room. It was nice enough. However, the place only provides you with TWO very small pillows. I’m used to like six! Oh well I guess.
Our room was in a weird location, it was very loud because not only were we next to the vending machines (where people would come all hours of the night and be very loud) we were also next to the laundry room.
Besides that, the place wasn’t THAT bad. I booked on expedia so I got the room for 40 bucks. I wouldn’t stay here again, but if you’re looking for one night and don’t have a lot of cash this might be your place.

I loved this Super 8 Motel, it was kind of a weird way to find the entrance but once we got there it looked completely brand new out doors. Our room was on the opposite side of the street, but it was on the third floor.
When we entered the hallway which was indoors, but we used an elevator to get up to the third floor since we were carrying a lot of bags. Once we stepped in the elevator it sort of felt like it was going to fall from walking inside. The only thing that seemed old and about to break down was the elevator, they seriously need to fix it or else somebody might get stuck in there one of these days.
When you step out of the elevator you are in the hallway, it was a bit confusing finding the room number but we were right next to the elevator which disappointed me because now we will here every single person that was on that floor going through the elevator.
Another thing I didn’t like was that the door was so thin that you could hear EVERY single sound that came from that hallway, people talking, pressing the button on the elevator, to just walking through the halls. I wish they could replace the doors they have now with thicker ones so one doesn’t have to hear people in the hallway at midnight when you’re trying to sleep.
The view was nice, but I am sure if we were on the opposite side we would of had to deal with the lights from the traffic on that busy street, but the only lights we had were those of people in the parking lot. Third story is a great advantage as you can have the curtains open and enjoy the view without worrying about someone watching you from the ground level.
Overall this hotel is great, just need to upgrade the elevator then it would feel safe enough for me to go back to it. I have no complaint about the room itself except for the paper thin door.
