I get all of my clothes here, don’t even bother with the mall anymore. I find so many great items and I’m kinda glad it is not as well known as it should be. It’s my little gem. I find amazing deals and designer clothes for little to nothing. Walk out with bags of clothes for under $ 50. I go at least once a week when they do their tag changes. I’m sure the workers know me by now. It’s so addicting and I can’t stop going back

What a fun place to shop! I especially look for collectibles and sometimes they are even on sale! Dressing rooms and bathrooms are clean and the salespeople are very friendly! I try to stop in a couple times a month and search for a treasure!

Wouldn’t recommend this thrift shop to anyone and will not be returning. One worker wouldn’t sell me an item because it was priced wrong and was very rude about it. I was more upset by how she went about the situation.

Awesome thrift store. On my first visit there, I couldn’t wait to go back. We got there an hour after opening time and there were already a lot of people in the store. The store is huge, everything is separated nicely by category, and everything is clean. It doesn’t even smell like a thrift store.
I went right to the arts and crafts section and found 2 bags with 3 HUGE unused rolls of expensive yarn for just $ 5. Mostly everything in the store was priced cheaper than other thrift stores I’ve gone to, but they definitely know their name brands. An older Burton snow jacket was priced at $ 30, I was tempted to get it for my girlfriend but I looked it up online and found it brand new for less than $ 50. Since Eco Thrift has sales all the time, I figured I’ll just go back and try my luck next time.
They have 3 different sales happening all week, and they have a «color of the week». The colors are associated with he colors of the price tags. The first color is on sale for 25% off, the second is 50% off and the third is 75% off. The color of the week will move in to the 25% off slot and the first 2 colors will go down the list.

I LOVE this thrift store! Every Time I leave I always have something SUPER cute in my hands. Their stuff is in good condition and is priced really well! I frequent this store:):)

Miss it when this place used to be cheap. The clothing is ridiculously expensive like if they were brand new. People shop at thrift stores because of the affordability of clothing and items but this ‘thrift store’ tries to hard to act like a retail store.

Nice, big thrift store. Didn’t have time to look through the whole store because they closed at 8pm on Sunday’s and we got there around 6:30ish. Didn’t find much because the prices are more on the high end. Thought this was a «thrift store». Not too much of a fan knowing they take donations, yet resell for profit, and they tax. I know at goodwill they don’t have tax there. I like to shop at Shepherds Hand thrift store in west Sacramento because the profits go towards feeding the needy, and it’s profit for a church to help others. Their space is really small compared to this, but it’s for a good cause. At Eco thrift, it was hard to shop because I’m only 5′ and they have top racks. My arms get tired of having to hold them up just to look at clothes. Lol
Also, the women’s restroom was HORRIBLE!!! My daughter had to go, and when we opened the door, the smell was HORRIFIC, We both tried NOT to gag. She had to cover her nose the entire time and I was trying so hard not to inhale. It was DISGUSTING. Piss everywhere, and most likely dirty diapers that made it smell so bad. Even the men’s restroom was more clean!
Overall, not sure if I’d return… Huge selection but the sales are hard to catch. Blue tags 75% off… Yet most clothes are not blue tags… Over priced on some items for a thrift store, horrible bathrooms. Nice staff though.

I love thrift shopping. It’s a new addiction. This location is good and organized, but I personally like the sunrise location better. They have more of a selection and higher quality items. This place is still great and the customer service is good. Love the hours too!

Me and my wife have enjoyed going here, they got some good stuff and prices are good as well.

Overwhelming! But that’s a good thing! In the thrifting world, you want to be surrounded by a lot of stuff. And Eco Thrift has a lot of stuff. It’s probably the largest selection of better quality clothes in town (or at least the largest selection of clothes. Period.) On this visit, I only had time to go through the men’s jeans and the women’s dresses. I can easily spend a whole morning here, rifling through the racks on racks on racks. The clothes are nicely organized by size and color. I found that most items are decently priced at under $ 10, but it did seem that «designer» brands or better brands were way over-​priced.
I liked that the place is spacious, the dressing rooms are clean, the aisles are wide enough for more than 1 person with a shopping cart, and they have plenty of cashiers. It’s also not too heavy on that «thrift store odor.»
So if you’ve got some time, make your way over to Eco Thrift, and search for more stuff to add to your closet or house!

This place is expensive! I was out thrift store shopping for my place and looking for some wall art. It was my first time here since they moved locations. Yes it is big and they had a sale going on the day I visited.
Here’s what I found… Absolutely nothing! The one piece of Art I would have purchased was almost $ 300.00. Who spends that much in South Sacramento? Even though they were having a sale, the color codes on the sale didn’t match premium items. So no you couldn’t get the good stuff on sale. It was a nice piece of Art and it was large, but the associates working don’t have knowledge of why it commands such a high price.
I looked online and found this company to be a small corporation taking in donations and reselling. In fact I walked down most of the aisles and found at best the place was fairly organized for such a large retail space. Still most items were considerably expensive. They obviously have an experienced buyer pricing items as close to a premium used price as possible, therefor making it hard to find a real steal or bargain.
They are not a price leader for thrift store shopping. Far better deals and treasures are to be found at Goodwill or Thrift Town. Go there and you will see better selection, quality, and prices. Good luck in your search!

Not my favorite thrift store. It’s huge, but the clothing is poorly displayed. It isn’t organized by sizes, it’s only organized by the type of clothing. Prices are also higher than Thrift Town

I just love this store so much because it is huge and i always can’t leave this store with a minimum of 1 hr! They just got so much going on, that you need to take your sweet time and dig for all the treasures. If you go too fast by the aisles you can easily miss out on those awesome items on the shelf hiding behind one another.
They got like 6 rows of men clothes, all categorized into different aisles and section. They have casual clothes, polos, dress shirts, jackets, suits, active pants, and dress pants too. Shoes are just placed above each row of clothes and its pretty neat and spread out. Sometimes the more nice looking shoes, they put out only one shoe, and you would need to bring it to the cashier to get the other one. Hint hint: those are the brand name ones usually.
Women’s clothes has a bigger selection and it works the same way like the mens section.
The miscellaneous items is amazing! I love looking at all the different cups, plates, kitchenware items and little figurine as well. My first time there i was like omg, i was sooo overwhelmed with the items they carried.
In the front of the store near the cashier, they have all the glass display case with all the fancy collectibles, to watches, electronics, and camera goodies too. Looking in those cases sometimes can be crowded with people around it, but be patient because some can take a long time and not move. lol…
Overall i enjoy looking at the shoes, suits section, kitchenware and the collectibles in the display cases. Yes sometimes the lines are long but it usually goes pretty fast. A helpful thing i learned is if you have less than 5 items you can pay at the collectible case area. Also no hoods on from the hoodie, ski mask, on upon entering because of safety reasons. Parking is easy which i really like and always have a lot of space too. I love the hours because it opens til 8pm everyday. Thanks for reading and happy Unilocaling!

Sometimes size *does* matter. Eco Thrift is a HUGE store, and probably has the largest clothing selection of any local thrift shop. If I’m looking for a specific item for an outfit or a costume, this is one of the first places I look. Their prices are overall pretty great (just found a formal full-​length dress in great condition for $ 2.97– score!) and they always have rotating daily discounts based on the color of the price tags. They also have a great selections for shoes, accessories, home décor and books. All good stuff!

I’ve been here quite a few times and after witnessing some pros and cons, I’ve decided to give this place 3 stars.
Every item is color coded with colored tags, and each week there are three tags that go on sale for 25%, 50% or 75% off. Each week on Monday they change which tags will go on sale.
I’ve noticed, however, that usually, when certain tags go on sale, most items are not carrying that tag. I can only conclude that they do swap tags out so most items aren’t on sale. One week I went in and the white tags were on sale, but most of the clothes had yellow tags. Another week I came in and the orange tags were on sale, but most of the clothes were now carrying white tags. See where I’m going with this?
And yes, I’ve noticed that most clothes are marked up. If you have time you can definitely find good deals, but even simple no-​brand used sweaters can go for $ 19.98. And some items that can be found at the Dollar Tree are marked at $ 3 as another reviewer noted.
They have both used and new items. Most are clothes. They separate clothes by type and size. Some racks have the S, M, L (etc) tags to indicate the sizes and some don’t, but they definitely are organized by size.
Some people who work there are really nice and some aren’t. I was browsing the clothes one day with my cart a few feet from me and a girl yelled really loud down the aisle «does this basket belong to anyone!!!» So I turned to her and moved it closer to me and said «that’s mine. I’m really sorry» even though I feel like I shouldn’t be sorry. I was pretty close to my cart and all she needed was to get in and hang a sweater up. No need to yell like I was stopping her from doing her job.
One time my sister found a sweater for $ 0.98. She was so excited. It was normal looking so we figure that was a good price. When we took it to the counter, the girl at the register looked at it and told me she couldn’t sell it to me because that’s not the price of the sweater. My sister asked what was the real price and she said she doesn’t know but she just can’t sell it. We were baffled because it clearly looked like the price tag was on it in good condition and it said $ 0.98. Then the same girl proceeded to charge me $ 6.98 for a bag of fabric that was marked at $ 0.98. :(

I love a good buy, it is practically in my DNA to seek out and find a killer score! I definitely prefer the ECO THRIFT in Citrus Heights but this one is close by so I pop in from time to time. You can find reasonable clothing with color coded tags (which I love) because if you are lucky you can save 25, 50 or 75% off original price. The down side is their «pricer» knows a good find too and does not offer consumers very little below retail. Especially if you take advantage of nearby Dee Dee’s and Fallas deals (new items) well below Department store value. So as I stated before I like to check in every couple months to see if I can find any steals… but not a regular.

I come to this place to donate things I no longer need. They make it easy to donate and take almost anything. much larger than your average Thrift Store, on a rough side of Sac but its worth a look see.

Save your money and shop at a true THRIFT store!
I was once a fan of Eco Thrift when they were located on Fruitridge Rd. I got hooked on thrifting and continued to shop there even after they changed locations. Unfortunately, some change is not always for the better. Since moving locations, I have all but stopped shopping here as the prices have skyrocketed to unreasonable and unjustifiable.
Allow me to give you some examples…
1.) Steve Madden coat hanging on a mannequin = $ 70
2.) Pottery Barn vase with years of stuck on candlewax and an old price tag on the bottom = $ 15
3.) Brooks Brother cashmere sweater with a hole on the sleeve = $ 19
4.) ASVAB study guide (book) = $ 17.76
5.) **anything with a brand name = $$$
6.) **anything that looks remotely expensive = $$$$
7.) **most books = $$
The examples given above are items that I picked up and left on the shelves.
The one thing that I thought I could count on was affordable clothing for my daughter, but even the prices on those items has risen AND add to that the fact that they STAPLE price tags (multiple times) on every piece of clothing that I no longer waste my time coming here.
High prices + working overtime to remove staples from clothing so that I don’t create even bigger hole = NOT WORTH IT!

I am a huge thrift nerd. I LOVE thrifting. I’ve heard a lot of friends talk about EcoThrift so I finally got over to check it out. And OMG IT’S INSANE. And not good insane.
I didn’t find one single thing that was remotely a good deal. MOST things I looked at were WAY overpriced. I’m not kidding, I picked up a 5 year old Gap hoodie and it was $ 30. THIRTY DOLLARS. Even if it was 75% off, it would be too expensive.
There is NO organization. Just giant rows of items, not sized or put into price range or color or anything.
I spent a little bit of time trying to go through a few aisles before I gave up and left.

Ever since our economy took a downturn my HB used to drive me into work on his days off. He started to shop at Goodwill stores. Next thing you know he would tell me that even Goodwill was getting expensive.
I would say «Really???» trying to get a reaction out of him!
He said he used to get his pants for 3.00 there and now it’s up to 7.00. Now he shops at Ecothrift which originally used to be located on Fruitridge Road. They had moved to this 55^th street location for the past two to three years now.
If you look at me you would think I would not ever set foot in these stores but you know I’m practical and I love a great buy! I have gone with my HB to pretty much any of these stores now and it doesn’t bother me one bit.
Enough of that now and on to the review of this business, we were on a mission today looking for white pants for making a particular costume for both of us and we scored!
I was also looking for toddler boys clothing too and founded what we needed. In fact today’s yellow tickets were 50% off and the items I happened to pick up had yellow tickets. My HB also found a LL bean backpack which was just right for what he needed.
We picked up like seven items that the total came to just under sixteen dollars. That was super cheap. I even saw a Forever 21 off white sweater there plus nice Hawaiian shirt for a guy but I refrained.
This store used to be toys r us way way back. The store itself is huge plus a good sized parking lot. It was pretty full today being a holiday for a lot of the state workers. There are bathrooms if you need it Btw. We did have a long checkout line but it did go by promptly!
I was pretty happy with our great finds. Try them out and be patient. You might get lucky… who knows?

great selection. not too crowded during the week.
Warning: they will make you check your diaper bag. which is strange. you must check your diaper bag but not your purse. It was a little off-​putting but whatever.
