Cute little store that had a nice selection of chocolates and caramel apples.
I am crazy about a good caramel apple and this one was good but could of used a thicker coating of caramel. The chocolate coating was good.
The young ladies that were working there very helpful helping me pick the one I wanted as they had a dozen different varieties to choose from.
My husband had a salted chocolate covered caramel and that was delicious.

When visiting Old Sacramento, there are several businesses that require regular patronage from tourists and locals alike. This chocolate shop is one of my priority stops whenever I’m in Old Town. This place will draw you in the minute you look into their windows! The beautiful and tempting displays of all things chocolaty will demand your attention!
They have every type of chocolate coated sweets that you can think of from fruits to nuts. Outstanding caramel apples, truffles, fudge, milk chocolates, white chocolates, and dark chocolates in a variety of choices from hard, soft and melt in your mouth candies. One of my favorites are the chocolate dipped frozen cheese cakes on a stick! If you ever have dinner at one of the many places in Old Sac, then make sure you save room for one of these deliciously rich cheese cakes! My sister and I discovered this many years ago, and now I have Joe K. hooked on them too!
It’s hard to believe that there are people out in this world that don’t like chocolate! Fortunately for me, I’m not one of them!

we love the candy apples & always stop for a treat whenever we’re in town, but this time we experienced poor customer service. The girl working had a snotty attitude. We asked for caramel apples to be put in a cardboard to-​go box since we were going to take them for the car ride home. (There is an option between cardboard box or paper bag) and when we asked she sarcastically said”…really?” And threw in an *eye roll* prior to that we had asked for the apples to be sliced so it could be easier for us to share. But we get in our car to find out– nope! they weren’t even sliced! So we had to wait to get home to our melted apples! Oh well though right?! :-) .aside from poor customer service the apples were pretty good once we got home and refrigerated them for about 30 mins. I just recommend employees treat paying customers with a bit respect.

Love this place! My favorite is the cookies and cream caramel apple, which is about $ 6, and I highly recommend it. They also have a wonderful variety of caramel apples to choose from as well as several other types of chocolate choices. It’s a great and sweet snack to have on hand while strolling around to enjoy the rest of Old Town Sacramento. The place is small but clean and nicely set up, and the service is quick.

The chocolate is very good, but it is a little pricey. If you like dark chocolate then you will like the dark chocolate and almond bars. I ordered an original caramel apple to go. They have alot of different chocolate to choose from.

We decided to stop by this wonderful place filled with all things CHOCOLATE. Located in Old Sacramento. When we walked in we were greeted by the friendly staff and the great smell of chocolate. You could see them making the chocolate covered apples. They had cases filled with various types of fudge, chocolate candies and of course the chocolate covered apples. There was so much to choose from it was a hard decision to make. We ended up getting the «Turtle Apple with Pecans». It was covered in chocolate, caramel and pecans. It was to die for, so yummy! We also got the frozen chocolate covered banana — another great option!
I don’t think you can go wrong with anything in this place — who doesn’t like chocolate?

This place makes great chocolate and other goodies, but the main reason I am writing the is to praise their above-​and-​beyond-​the-​call-​of-​duty customer service.
We went in to find some fudge. My husband really likes vanilla fudge with no nuts. RMCF had none in stock, but they smiled and pointed us toward their competitor, Turtle’s, where we found what we wanted.
There aren’t many stores that will do that these days, and it’s very refreshing. Yes, we WILL be going back to RMCF, and we’ll recommend them to anyone who asks.

We like to pop in with the kids so they can see the candy factory while were in old sac. We love the Carmel apples and the kids all ages pick out something new to try and share with each other. I have to dig out the picture of my grandkids looking their store window all of them had been caught licking their lips as they watched the candy maker through the glass window

I said it before and I’ll say it again this is one of my favorite spots in Old Town Sacramento my personal non guilty pleasures are the white chocolate covered liquorice and the chocolate covered marshmallows. Tasty!

I love the Carmel apples-​that item alone should earn the place 5-​stars, right? Well, um, sure. The tiger butter –an item that is difficult to find, and also delish should boost the candy credibility, too. That’s true. Then, why the 4-​stars? It’s because the salted Carmel candy was a disappointment. Yep, that’s right. The salted Carmel had a few sprinkles of rock salt on top-that’s it. So, the actual salted Carmel experience was, in fact, disappointing. I also found the Carmel wasn’t really sweet enough. Change the salted Carmel recipe and yeah-I’ll bump it up to 5-​stars.

I asked the girl at the counter if their hot chocolate were made with their chocolate and she looked at me like I was stupid and replied what? and no we make it out of nestle.
It wasn’t like I asked a ridiculous question… You are a chocolate factory.

I tasted the chocolate covered potato chips! Oh goodness, how different. I did not buy anything because of the diet but will be back when I am off it. They had everything imaginable and I am a choco fan. I hope to be able to try the truffles and everything else in between. Great staff and awesome sauce smells.

Best caramel apples in town. I’ve been coming here for years. Every single time I’m in old sac, I stop here for a delicious caramel apple. I always get good service and the staff always offers to cut up my caramel apple.
With the countless times I’ve had great service I’m giving five stars. However, the last time I went in on Tuesday the 17^th, I had been on my way back from an interview at a restaurant and as soon as I walked in one of the ladies said «hello, can I help you? We aren’t hiring». I didn’t even ask for an application. I had my wallet out and ready for an apple. That’s just rude. She also refused to give me one of those parking slips because my total wasn’t $ 5. It was a few pennies away. Just ridiculous, but whatever. It’s one time, and their apples are delicious so I’m over it. I shall go get another caramel apple now! :)

Whenever my Husband and I are in Old Sac we tend to stop in here, we don’t necessarily buy anything every time but it’s still nice just to look at all of the delicious Chocolate covered goodies. Food porn much? Hell yes!
You can get pretty much anything Chocolate covered here — Strawberries, Pretzels, Cookies (including Oreo’s), Licorice, Marshmallows ect.
The Avalanche Cups are one of my favorite buys while here. White Chocolate, Rice Crispy treats, Peanut Butter and Marshmallow all melted down into one handheld treat. Yummm!
They also have a very impressive selection of Truffles as well as Caramel (or Chocolate) Apples, Frozen Banana’s and Fudge. Any Chocoholic will be in their element here.

First of all if your like me and have a tough time making decisions this place will absolutely make you bonkers, In a good way.
My mouth was watering at the smell as I walked in, my eyes were glazed over like they too had been dipped in chocolate and my stomach was growling for any of the sweet items that were displayed wall to wall… quite literally!
What will it be … Uuuuummmm ummmmm nom nom nom nom nom I’ll take one of everything ! «That’s what my stomach screamed at me «
I ended up leaving with two giant strawberries dipped in milk chocolate, and dark chocolate, which I devoured. The strawberries themselves were large and very juicy and sweet. Not at all like the ones at the markets where they are big but all white and flavorless. These babies were red and sweet all the way through. The chocolate was like Oompa Loompa’s had been churning it all day to produce the sweetest and silkiest chocolate euphoria.
I had to control my urge to run back inside and buy more. I’ll be returning to try more delectable treats … I mean it’s only fair that I try everything in the store before I jump the gun with a 5star review lol! (That’s my excuse … What’s yours ?!)

Item: Caramel Apples
The best place to get caramel apples, hands down. I love caramel apples & have tried them at a few dozen places all over. The best is at Rocky Mountain. The original Peanut Caramel well do it for me. It’s the peanut flavor with the caramel that’s so perfect for me. Plain peanuts & caramel. Simple but absolutely delicious. Love it. The caramel is done right with a great balance of butter & sugar. And the huge Granny Smith apples they use are always so fresh with a tangy sweet crunchy bite to them. That tanginess is what makes them so darn good. Tangy, sweet, peanut buttery goodness. Drools.
Wife likes the peanut butter flavor of the Peanut Butter Bomb caramel apple, which only can be found at this Old Sac location. Bummer because we’re not from this area (2.5 hours away). =(
They have plenty other flavors & combos if these two varieties aren’t your thang.

The last time I was in Old Sacramento, I came to this chocolate store. I got several items including some chocolate covered honeycomb. Some of the other people I was with got chocolate covered pretzels and rocky road. Everyone really liked what they got. I love honeycomb and I felt it was quite tasty.
Their prices are a little expensive but it is pretty decent chocolate and other confections. One good thing to note is that when I was there, they validate parking if you buy $ 5 or more worth of candy or chocolate.
I felt the people working here were nice enough and friendly but not overly so. I like that it wasn’t overdone like it is elsewhere.

OMG, I haven’t had a caramel apple in SOOOOO long, which which is probably why the sight and aroma of those devilish concoctions drew me in like a moth to a flame! I intended on going with my good ol’ standby of caramel with peanuts, but upon being presented with a vast array of delectable options, I finally settled upon the «Peanut Butter Bomb.» Why? Because I love peanut butter, chocolate, nuts, and caramel layered at least a foot and a half deep on my Granny Smith apple! Seriously, it took me a couple of bites just to get through the magnificent coating of said ingredients before I could even TOUCH the apple part… sheer delight.
I fear (sorta) that I may be frequenting this store more often because there were definitely some other caramel apple masterpieces just calling out for me to try them. Well, okay…

The almond milk chocolate clusters never let me down. I picked up 3 of them. Ate one right away and saved the rest for later. My husband got the dark chocolate walnut fudge and of course loved it. We couldn’t resist a carmel covered apple with nuts either so we threw that in our order. They were kind enough to cut it for us so it’s easier to eat. It worked perfectly — we shared it once we got to the airport and having it cut up made it easy to consume.
Rocky Mountain never disappoints! Thanks for the treats… loved them!

SITREP
It did not take me long in my regular lunchtime wanderings around Old Sacramento to run into this virtual GOLD MINE of CHOCOLATE!
You have to give credit to owners Jerry & Cindy Haws for keeping their passion going strong for 27 years in Old Sacramento since 1984 and it only takes a peek into the store to be visually overwhelmed by all of the varieties of delicious, yummy, scrumptious chocolates!
THE MENU OF OPPORTUNITY
I have to admit that I am NOT a huge Peanut Brittle fan. But something in me changes into an outright craving when I have the opportunity to actually WATCH the peeps in the store make their trademarked famous crunchy peanut brittle and Rocky Pop (their special caramel corn).
Other «Made on Premises» opportunities include:
* Watching them dip beautiful, huge large-​stemmed strawberries into the warm, liquid white-​chocolate, milk-​chocolate, or dark-​chocolate coating and give it a few minutes to harden on the berry before eating it! «Oh YUMMMM to the 10^th Power!»
* Watching them dip apples in their thick caramel coating from the copper kettle.
* Watching them make a HUGE thick, creamy loaf of FUDGE!
And if you are lucky enough to catch these processes in action, then you are EXTREMELY LUCKY because can you say, «Free Sample Time!»? Oh HELLS to the YEAHS!
BIODIVERSITY & SUSTAINABLE COCOA GROWING
As an aside, what has impressed me with my successive visits to this beautiful establishment is their commitment to the environment. For the record, their main supplier of chocolate — Guittard — has been incorporating «biodiversity» into its «sustainable cocoa growing» practices. The literature at the store goes into great detail and explains the growing philosophy:
Sustainable growing means that cocoa trees are grown in biologically diverse agricultural system, along with other economically beneficial trees. Since cocoa trees require shade, they can be grown under a canopy of commercially valuable trees such as banana and rubber. Other shade trees provide local foods, such as Grumixana, Sapote and Breadfruit. Shade trees can also provide timber and other fiber products.
PROTECTING THE ENVIRONMENT & LOCAL ECOSYSTEMS
By carefully choosing and planting shade trees, farmers in these regions reap many economic and ecological benefits from a diverse tree crop. This combination of agriculture and forestry is known as «agroforestry». With biodiversity there are more plants and animals for food, timber, for fiber, for construction work, for flooring, for roofing, and most everything that is requires on the farm. Many trees and plants also provide habitats and food for animals.
The farmer maintains or increases his cocoa bean production each year by using efficient, low cost methods that minimize impact on the rainforest environment. At the same time, sustainable growing allows the farmer to increase his families standard of living.
THE LOWDOWN
From an environmental and socially-​conscious standpoint, I am delighted that the Chocolate Factory and their supplier Guittard are committed to environmental stewardship within the cocoa industry. But from a personal standpoint, and for a delicious and fun time, definitely stop in and visit the Chocolate Factory and EAT THEIR CHOCOLATE!
