Delicious truffles! We met Toucan Truffles while wine tasting at Cinnabar Tasting Room on The Wineries of Santa Cruz Mountains Passport Day. Pairing suggestion with Pinot Noir and Merlot was eyeopening as I used to think it’s common to pair chocolate with sweet wine. The sales person at the tasting table was very good that I ended up purchasing a box of four flavor(two dark and two milk). He said these truffles are good for one year in freezer, but I know it will not last that long anyway ;-)

”Baked like a Brownie, Tastes like a Truffle”. Toucan Truffles are a small business located out of Sacramento and is predominantly mail order but can also be found at many Wineries throughout the Bay Area, check their website for special events: These Truffles are completely Gluten free, made with Callebaut Chocolate and are not your average Chocolate, they have the texture of a Brownie! How genius is that? They come in 8 different flavors — 4 in Dark Chocolate and 4 in Milk Chocolate, all wrapped in different colored foil as to easily distinguish the flavors: — Violet: Double Decadent Dark Chocolate(no nuts) — Brown: Swiss Mocha Dark Chocolate(no nuts) — Orange: Hazelnut Dark Chocolate — Gold: Macadamia Dark Chocolate — Pink: Pecan Milk Chocolate — Peach: Almond Milk Chocolate — Green: Brazil Nut Milk Chocolate — Blue: Pure Heaven Milk Chocolate(no nuts) They are all priced by the box of 8 pieces for $ 25, you can either get all Dark, all Milk or a mixture of both. Having tried both the Dark and Milk I am most definitely a fan of the Milk flavors, the Almond in particular as the Dark flavors are very rich. These pair great with almost any Wine(I actually found them at a Winery!) and the best pairings can be found listed on their website( ). Not only are these Truffles incredibly tasty but the owners also support many Charities and participate in charity events locally. Go on. treat yourself and support a small business in the process.
