This is by far my favorite place to shop! I always manage to find something fabulous add a fantastic price here at Renaissance designer consignment. I have an eclectic, designer, individual look that you can’t get here in Sacramento. Shop here!

I try not to post negative posts however this one got under my skin! I Heard a disturbing story about an experience someone dear to me endured at the Renaissance Consignment store (a consignment establishment which sells used high end brands) off Fair Oaks Blvd. This person (who does not want to be named) walked into this store with a few coworkers (all of color) curious to see what this store was about. Instead of being greeted with a «Hello» or «Welcome»… Or even a smile, these women were greeted with unwelcoming stares. Being that this was a place of sales and is supposed to thrive off customer service, this individual thought it was just her imagination. That is until the individual wanted to look at a piece of jewelry that was in a jewelry case and waited… and waited… and waited for one of the sales women to help her. The sales women finally walked over, looked right at her and stated «I think she (another white woman) was here before you.» The other customer, who must have felt uncomfortable, informed the sales woman that «No, she (my friend who had been waiting) was here first!» Irritated, the sales woman asked «which one did you want to see» got it out, tossed it on top of the jewelry case and proceed to help the other customer. In disbelief that this was actually happening, my friend grabbed all her co workers (who by the way are very successful woman) and left the store! Needless to say, the store lost a lot of customers and money that day!
I for one, will not be visiting this store anytime soon!

Once again during the holiday season, when all else fails I end up at the Renaissance Consignment store. I start out at Macy’s, then Nordstrom’s then a few other places shopping each year for my wife who has everything, and do end up selecting a few items. Then I end up at Renaissance and working with Jen Outland the store manager, she remembers my name (last 5 years) and assists me in selecting my wife’s main gift (this year it was 3 items). What a pleasure it is for a guy to feel comfortable with each purchase. Jen was a delight and I recommend that you call ahead to ensure that she is available. Happy Holidays

I visited Renaissance Consignment with my boss and co-​workers after a birthday lunch today. My boss was so excited to check it out. Mind you, we were five women of color, and I have to wonder whether this had anything to do with what transpired. My boss wanted to see a Tiffany pearl ring. She waited. .. and waited. .. and waited at the jewelry counter to be helped while the sales clerk, an older white woman, ignored her and waited on someone else. When the sales clerk could no longer ignore my boss, she turned to my boss and said, referring to a lady standing next to my boss, «I believe the other lady was first.» The lady standing next to my boss, who was white, said, «No, actually, she was next.» The sales lady retrieved the ring from the jewelry case, set it on the counter, and walked away. She provided no assistance whatsoever. The lady who had been standing next to my boss was of more assistance than the sales clerk. Despite the poor service, my boss decided to buy the ring. So, with her Amex in hand, she waited. .. and waited,. .. and waited. Finally, she said, «Forget it. Let’s go.» We all left. All of us are college educated women with a great deal of buying power. My boss is a high-​ranking state official. I doubt she’ll be spending her considerable spending power at this establishment. As for me, the Coach bag I was rocking when I walked in, and the Coach briefcase in my office, were bought retail. I doubt if any of us needs a discount on designer items badly enough to put up with this kind of service.

I love Kate Spade, but at full retail, it limits my availability to spoil myself! BUT, at Renaissance, I can snatch up like new pieces for much less! I have been extremely satisfied with each purse/​bag that I have purchased! How did I not know about this boutique before? I could have fed this addiction much sooner!

If I want to put up with some snotty, pretentious, self-​absorbed, uneducated sales girl, this is definitely where I will go. But I don’t really anticipate ever having such a need, and I can’t imagine why anyone would. Unless you like being treated badly by someone who is in every imaginable way your inferior, do not waste your emotional energy on this place. The owner is rude, and highly deluded. A truly horrible experience.

Tired of wearing what you see everyone else in? Love the looks you see in your InStyle mag? Covet designer clothes like Chanel, Armani, etc. Shop at Renaissance where you can buy these beautiful clothing items or pick up an Alexander McQueen purse at a fraction of the original price! You’ll never shop anywhere else in this town! You’ll receive great personal service. Dont be surprised if youre greeted by your first name by your second visit! The clothes are impeccable and Renaissance has a large selection which includes all sizes. You’ll have a great shopping experience at Renaissance!

I wonder if the owner is aware of the withering customer service? There are 3 women working there to my knowledge. It is not Lisa who is the problem. So it is either Jenny or the other woman. I am going to narrow it down. I have had terrible problems with this one woman before and see other people mentioning rudeness.
One woman is very sweet, has been in there alone on weekends and talks about her children.
Yesterday I went in to get my check from Rude, Haughty Woman (RHW). She showed disdain with upward moving head, eyeballs, and eyebrows, spoke to me dismissively and said come back later. She’s the one all right. Not a problem with the others. They just sold Marc dress off of me and a $ 200 wrist cuff. I have brought them designer clothes and expensive jewelry. Yes, they have made money off me! But I am worth treating like dirt!
RHW, what are your credentials? I am a lawyer and have been a member of the California Bar for 37 years. I owned a home in San Francisco where I acquired most of the designer items you have sold. I have more. In fact, I brought in a little leopard skin jacket you all thought was cute. You told me to bring it in for fall. Not a chance! Can you imagine how disgusting it is to me to have to «tell you who I am» in a public forum? It makes me sick! But you make me sicker. You’ve acted that way more than once, and your boss should know he or she is losing business because of you!

I wouldn’t have given one star if I didn’t have to. I went in this afternoon and as I open the door the employee look down at her watch and said «um, we’re closed» and that’s it. It was 6:32. They closed at 6:30 and she acted as if they have been closed for an hour and as if I was bothering her. I was pretty excited to go there. My mom shops there a lot and always has good things to say. But now I don’t want to go back. She didn’t say hello she didn’t smile… nothing. Not to mention she was helping a customer so technically I could have quickly looked around.
I’ve often referred my clients there and now I will, with a warning. Terrible customer service.

If you are looking to sell or buy authentic designer goods this is the place ! I have been in here a hand full of times and I do consign here as well, the staff is always SO helpful and friendly. I do not even bother going to those other second hand stores anymore. This is by far the best place in the Sacramento area!

I came in here with my mom to check it out for the first time. Experience was not so great because they are snooty and not inviting. The clothing is very overpriced, I saw a shirt that was $ 35 for Anne Taylor. Place smells of strong perfume. This might be a good place if you’re looking for used designer handbags but for clothing… not so much.

I have to completely agree with everyone who said that the staff here is rude! This is the absolute worst consignment experience I have ever had!!! Yes they are extremely picky in what they take and not to mention they KEEP 60% of the sale and only give you 40%. Every other consignment store I have used keeps 40% and give me 60%. This is the way it should be considering they are MY items!
This place also will donate all of your things after 3 months without notifying you! I had called last month and said that I was going to be in in January so please DO NOT donate my items considering I live in Stockton and would not be back to school in Sac until then. When I went in yesterday I was surprised and not to mention very pissed off when they had told me they donated a pair of Seven Jeans and a very expensive purse and shoe set which I could have brought home and sold on ebay! I made such a big deal that she said she would give me the 40% for the items that were supposedly «donated».
How is a person supposed to know if their item really was donated or if the store sold it, pocketed the money, and then told the consigner it was donated.
When I asked why they don’t email or call before an item gets donated I got a rude remark from a lady named MONICA saying «we have thousands of consigners we do not have time for that». If thats the case then they should be more professional and update their equipment to set up an auto email or call recording.
When I got home I then realized I had a $ 200 business suit that was neither returned to me nor stated that it was donated. Hmmm where is it? I called today and a rude lady named ERIN told me that they would give me $ 14 for it! I told her that this is the worst consignment store I have ever been to! She then said is there anything I can do to make this better so I asked if I could have the whopping $ 14 check mailed to me since I live in Stockton and she rudely said we do not mail checks for under $ 20 you have to come in. Don’t ask me if there is anything you can do for me if your not going to mail it when I ask! I will waste $ 14 in gas to get the damn check so its not worth it!
NEVER NEVER consign here! Its a joke!

I have been consigning at Renaissance for more than 5 years and always find many designer pieces to purchase for my wardrobe there, as well.
I have visited other consignment boutiques in town and found them to be disorganized, often cramped into a tiny retail area and mostly uninterested in working with the customers on either end-​consigners and shoppers.
Jenny, especially takes a personal interest in her clients and will not hesitate to say if something I’ve tried on isn’t becoming.
They also seem to attract a higher quality and diversity of clothing and jewelry.
My first choice for consigning by a long shot!

I completely agree with the other reviewers who stated that the service here is at best rude and snotty. Most of the time it’s just not to be found. The prices are sky high (and yes, The Rack has very similar stuff, brand new for much better deals!) Also many items are torn, damaged, or stained! I’ve experienced them both as a customer, and with placing a few handbags with them in consignment. My «percentage» was a joke and next time I’d just list them on Ebay.
If you choose to shop here get ready to be treated like you’re putting them out big time! The owner really should look into hiring some new friendly people who know how to at least crack a smile.

High end fashion at reasonable price. Merchandise is well organized and display of clothing items is tastefully done. Very clean and neat environment in which shoppers can appreciate. A great place for forms wear and holiday shopping.

Was very disappointed in this place, when attempting to consign with them, they don’t work with you at all. They are rude and way too picky in their selection & rules. The store is not warm & inviting and neither is their employees.
All in all, not a very pleasant experience at all. There are many other consignment stores in Sacramento and Roseville that would welcome you both as a consigner and a customer. I strongly suggest you do your research and go elsewhere.

I’ve been coming here for over 10 years now. Its my home away from home. Everyone at this boutique are very classy and dressed to impress. The Renaissance Angels go out of their way to accommodate and help select what you may be searching for to look your best. My favorite «Angel», is Monica. She has always helped me find exactly what I search for especially for business meetings. You will always hit the jackpot here. Always! Stop here first, before you go anywhere else. Some items are pricey, but well worth every penny.

I finally found the courage to walk into this store. There’s lots of really nice items. There’s designer clothing at consignment prices. I loved their selection. If I was working in a business office I would so be coming here. Or if I needed to find a really beautiful dress for a special occasion.
Unfortunately, I don’t have any events to wear these dresses to. My job is working with kids, so I need dresses I can get messy in. And the customer service was not warm and welcoming. I just wasn’t feeling it to actually make a purchase.
It is a fun store, but I want a fun experience picking out the clothes as well. Hopefully, I’ll find the time to come in and give them one more try.

It’s hard to believe it’s consignment with all the designer clothing, the beautiful dresses and jackets to die for!
Ask for Erin, she is incredibly talented when it comes to fashion.
Believe me… This place is worth the drive from anywhere around Northern California. It’s clean, upscale & quite impressive.
OK, enough… you just have to experience it for yourself!
