History

Established in 1974.

Our Father Rodney Props along with our Mother Jody Props started our tree care company ‘Props Tree Care’ as a ma and pa operation back in 1974, when times were simpler and contracts were signed with a handshake.

Our parents had a vision of turning their tree business into a well known tree care company, with a reputation of doing the best work in town. Our Dad was a perfectionist when it came to pruning trees. He was much more advanced than most tree services back then. Even though most companies were turning trees into hat racks, our Dad was pruning trees for aesthetics and balance.

With the family business being ran from our home in Carmichael, back when that was considered out in the country; it was not a surprise that us kids, Robert, Ricky & Roni all became a integral part of the business!

We look forward to building great relationships with our clients that will last a lifetime and we strive to continue the legacy our Father & Mother started over 37 years ago.

Robert P.

Manager

As a son of Props and Company founder, Rodney & Jody Props, Robert has a lifetime of experience in the Arboriculture industry. At the mere age of 7 years, Robert learned how to operate stump grinders with his father. From there, he learned how to operate and maintain chainsaws, operate brush chippers, operate tree spades, and cranes. He began climbing and pruning trees full time in 1991, which helped him gain the experience to become a Certified Arborist in 1993.

Robert is currently the Vice President of the Corporation.

Out of all of the bids we got this spring this is the only company that gave me an analysis of all of our trees on our property and gave me a complete detail bid. The quality of the workmanship was just as detailed and they came in at a fair price! I will highly recommend their services to all of our friends and family

My experience with Prop’s Landscaping has been very good The owner, Robert Props, was very patient while I kept changing my mind on which trees I wanted to plant. He is a very knowledgeable tree professional and advised me on various trees to plant and which tree selections I should avoid and offered his reasons. He guided me to make sure my property would look very nice. Robert provided me with an itemized breakdown of charges for each item I wanted done so there were no surprise costs added during my project.
The three workmen who arrived were friendly to me and good friends who have worked together for years. They made sure they understood which trees and shrubs needed to be removed and cleaned all areas well before leaving for the weekend.
Day #2 the workmen delivered 6 large Aptos Blue Redwood trees and 2 medium size shade trees; they made sure the placement of each tree was to my satisfaction. The trees delivered were excellent choices — all tall, nicely shaped, and healthy. While the outside temperature soared to 103 degrees the workmen worked hard while joking with each other through the huge job at hand and soaring hot temperature.
On day #3 the planting and clean-​up was completed and the workmen did a few extras which I appreciated. I am especially grateful for the new and upgraded irrigation Robert Props personally did for me. All the work done by Props Tree and Landscape, Inc. met my high expectations and I certainly would hire them again. I now look with pleasure at my cleaned-​up backyard and my 8 beautiful new trees.

Not sure what’s going on with this company, but the phone system seems to not work (weird?) and when I called (and had to leave a message on) their «emergency number» no one bothered to call me back. I have to take my business elsewhere… there are just too many good companies/​people out there that WANT business and will WORK for it. Bummer for you Props Tree Svc, but this is your bad, not mine.

I made a morning appointment to get an estimate, and no one showed up. I called to find out what happened to my scheduled appointment and had to leave a message with an answering service. In the end, no one called me back. To me, that’s very unprofessional.

Called for a quote when I moved into my new home in July because of the reviews on here. Everything was fine. Someone came out to see what I wanted done. He was friendly and nice. Said I would be emailed a quote. I been trying to get this done for two months now. Terrible customer service with the lady on the phones. Couldn’t answer any of my questions but tried pressuring me into scheduling. I then find out that the quote was not even for the services I originally requested. They don’t return phone calls. Have kids picking up phones. Very unprofessional business. I will be taking my business elsewhere and unless you like the bait and switch techniques some businesses use I suggest you do the same.
