This Panda locations is one of my favorite ones in Sacramento. I go in weekly, and always get helped by Celeste, she’s always so friendly and knows my order by memory. Her and the manager Brenilda always go above and beyond to make sure I and other customers leave happy. There’s been a lot of negative comments about this location based on a situation that happened with a moth, I agree that is gross. But from my experience with Panda I really doubt that she was treated that bad. I’ve met all of their staff and know not one of them would ever treat a customer rudely especially a customer with food complaints.

Attention… owner of Panda Express on Howe in Sacramento, and any other owner of a restaurant. Take some advice, Customer service is Vitally important to the success or demise of a business. There is a post on here that went viral, on social media about her bad experience here. It suspect it never would have gotten out of hand if the servers at this Panda Express had apologized and refunded her entire meal WITHOUT a nasty attitude. Accidents happen. We probably get stuff in our meals that would make us gag, and not even know it. But customer service is VERY important.

I’ll never eat here again after their manager refused to refund a woman who showed them a cooked moth in her food. What a horrible business practice. I absolutely believe the manager was rude because it speaks reality for how people are treated at this Panda Express location. Never eating here again!

You were so stingy you couldn’t even refund the woman’s soda after serving her a cooked moth??? You guys are disgusting and clearly unaccountable. You’ve ruined it for other Panda Express locations as well. I hope a health inspector comes to your location soon.

I just read something on Facebook stating that at this location, a woman found a moth in her food. And instead of being able to receive her money back, the manager said no. That is ridiculous. As someone who works in the restaurant industry, let me give you a tip. If someone comes in and finds something wrong with their food. You do not argue. You do not look at them like they’re crazy. Listen, and try to be understanding. If a person comes to you and says«I found this moth in my food. I want a refund», and actually SHOWS you… Regardless if they are angry and raising their voice(they have every right to be angry), then you just tell them that you are sorry. And give her the damn refund. It’s really that simple. I’m sorry. I will never ever go back to this establishment after hearing this story. We all know that customers can get angry at us servers when it comes to their food. But this should have been hands down the easiest thing to do. It’s like if someone finds a hair in their food. What you do is apologize and give them their money back, or try to make up for the company’s mistake. This is really pathetic, I have come to Panda Express many times and it really just makes the company overall look bad hiring managers that handle situations in this manner.

If you like moths in your food, poor sanitation practice and rude costumer service with a manager that will blame the costumer instead of taking responsibility, then this is your place to eat!

Today I decided to spend my 30 minute lunch break driving to the Panda Express located on Howe Avenue in Sacramento, California; a restaurant close to my work office that my coworkers and I frequent. I got there, waited in their normal lengthy line and ordered my food. I paid for mine and my coworkers lunch that I was picking up, and drove back to the office. I opened up my entrée plate to take a bite of my sweet fire chicken, when I noticed a very dark black object under a piece of chicken. I picked it up to see what it was, when I almost fainted. It was a huge moth; that had been glazed and cooked with the rest of the chicken. I immediately set it down and took a picture to document because I have never in my life seen anything so revolting in something I was about to eat. I tried to call the restaurant back immediately to speak to the manager, when I discovered that they had taken the phone off of the hook during the lunch hour. Because I had already used my allotted 30 minute lunch break driving to Panda Express and back, I had to request an extension from my boss so I could go to there in person and show the manager the moth that had been cooked into my food. Also, it should be noted that I got the very end of the batch of sweet fire chicken that was being served at the time, so I can’t even imagine how many plates were sold that had been contaminated by a dead moth. My boss was disgusted enough himself, to allow me to leave again and get the issue fixed. I simply wanted a cash refund for my food so that I could go somewhere else and get lunch, and to bring the issue to the manager’s attention so that no further customers would have to experience what I experienced. When I got to the restaurant I went to the counter, requested to speak to the manager and opened up my entrée plate. The manager, Imelda, stared down at the bug for a few seconds and then slowly looked back at me and said, «I don’t know how that got there» in a very accusatory tone, as if I had placed the bug there on purpose to get a free meal or something. I found this extremely offensive considering how many times my coworkers and I go to this particular Panda Express for lunch, and that I had to get permission from my boss to even leave my office again to deal with the problem. This was not a moth that had landed on my food and died; it was very obvious that the moth had been cooked and glazed in the sweet fire sauce that they use to coat the chicken. I asked her to please refund me in cash and she advised that she would not do that, and I could expect my refund back on my debit card in 3 – 5 days. She also refused to refund the soda I purchased with the lunch and furthermore, not once did she apologize. I have worked in fast food restaurants and many customer service jobs before, and it is absolutely despicable and inexcusable that the manager of this location could not even empathize and/or apologize for the poor sanitation of the restaurant she is in charge of. I simply wanted a refund, and to bring awareness of the obviously terribly managed cleanliness/sanitation habits. Instead, I was made to feel like somehow the issue was my fault and that the manager could not be bothered with my problems. I am not a complainer and I did not want this to go further, but after being treated so poorly by management, I have decided to further escalate the situation and will be filing a complaint with the Sacramento County Department of Health as well.

Went here to get a quick bite and doubt I will be back. It seems like all Panda Express servers are so greedy when they are serving your food. Well, this time really did it for me! Destiny served our food today and we took it to go… I guess one has to pay attention when they are serving your food cause when we got home and I opened up my three item entrée my beef and broccoli lottery had 3 pieces of beef!!! And two of the items were beef and broccoli!!! Wtf??? Are you kidding me??? 3 grand total pieces of beef??? Never again! Thanks a lot DESTINY!!! I guess you get what you pay for… SMH… Zero stars!

The workers today were completely incompetent especially the younger woman at the front She seemed lost and possibly on drugs. The other woman didn’t help her and they were both extremely inefficient and quite frankly rude. This is the worst panda express location I’ve ever been to. It is very obvious the lack of pride in this locations store.

Long wait time, not because it’s busy, but because they wait until a tray is completely empty before they start to make a new batch. And also their portion size is very small, I had a lot of open space on my food tray that they could have used to put just a little bit more food in, finished a whole tray and was still hungry. Another visit, the store opens at 10am, I got there at 10:15, half the food wasn’t even done, so I had to wait another 15 mins

Surprisingly, Panda Expresses are usually pretty good. I’ve been to dozens upon dozens of these restaurants, in about 3 – 4 different states. This place, is the closest to my house, and because this area is constantly flooded with vehicle traffic, others just take too long to drive to. Now, onto the restaurant. This place is by far, the worst Panda Express I’ve ever been to. I eat here about 3 – 4 times a month, maybe more, and have been for the past 6 months. I have a little Panda Express addiction, and this place has the worst time getting me my fix. 8 out of 10 times I come here, I’m waiting over 10 minutes for either orange chicken, or grilled teriyaki. They just do not know how to keep the fresh food flowing. When I go catch the orange chicken in the serving bowl, it’s sticky and old looking. Well, my experience today, prompted this review. I went in 1:30pm. 2 people in front of me. 4 – 5 people sitting down, eating. Orange chicken was about half full of old and sticky and the grilled teriyaki had some scraps in the bowl. «Any chance I can get some grilled teriyaki?» Girl looks back at the corner of the kitchen where the grilled teriyaki grill is. Nothing is on the grill, and a few measly pebbles are in the serving bowl. «15 minutes!» She replies. I say«what the hell?» Out loud as she notices my frustration, and I blurt out, «just gimme more orange chicken.» Well, she must have sensed my frustration, because as she passes the grilled teriyaki, she scooped up the scraps and piled those on to the sticky old orange chicken. And of course 4 out of 10 times I go to the soda fountain and start to fill my cup with Mt. Dew and of course, the syrup is out, so it explodes all over the machine like a hump backed whale, rocketing Pinocchio out of its blow hole, and makes a mess everywhere. I really wish there was another Panda Express, closer to my house.

the smalls school had a fundraiser here, and being a part of the PTA… I came to support! Its FASTFOOD – Chinese food. Nothing too spectacular. Of course the small humans wanted ORANGE chicken… The place is CLEAN, the employees were really friendly. I like that there is outdoor seating. That night we went it was a nice night. A convenient location, as there is a frozen yogurt shop next door!(Tops Yogurt) The little people are now OBSESSED with the orange chicken. They have asked almost everyday since, to go to Panda Express, so they can have their orange chicken!

I don’t understand why employees have a hard time cooking all the dishes when they are practically all made for you. The only thing required is that they complete the fish by… cooking it!!! So, I went in around 12PM and ordered fried rice, chow mien, orange chicken and teriyaki chicken. Fried rice — undercooked with no seasoning. As I chewed the rice I could feel the grains of rice break into little gritty bits. It reminded me of how horrible I cooked rice(that’s why I don’t cook and I rather eat out). Chow mien — missing the greasy appeal it normally has, again very dry tasting noodles. Orange chicken — they were just okay, they were on the warmer side and if you ever tasted orange chicken which you didn’t finish but saved for later that’s how exactly my orange chicken tasted. except I was ordering it then and there. It was suppose to be «fresh». Usually when fresh, the chicken pieces aren’t clumpy and sticky and the sauce is fluidly-like encasing each batter d morsel. Uh, not here. Teriyaki chicken — not sure if it was a «guy’s» way of cutting meat, but damn! He took a piece of chicken and cut it up into 4 pieces which wasn’t even bite size! Do they even offer knives here? I hate that each Panda Express can’t manage to cook their food correctly but this place has to be my least favorite place to stop at. If management ever reads this: Please teach the cooks how to cook rice and have them not rush when making a dish. Unlike most people, I have all the time in the world to wait, if the food comes out delicious.

I usually like Panda Express but this particular one on the particular night that I went was really not that good. I like their food, at least as far as fast food Asian food goes. However, I didn’t really get a chance to taste the food or at least not the food that I wanted as they were out of my top three choices.

This location has spicy tofu and eggplant, which isn’t often carried. Lunchtime lines are long, service takes a little while, because it’s basically this or The Habit.
