O’reilly Auto Parts

It is difficult to rate an Auto Parts store… Why? Well, it depends on what type of customer you are. I am an ex-​mechanic. For this reason I typically understand not only what parts I need but I understand the attitude of the automotive industry. Automotive is filled with lots of people who think they know everything and someone always makes you believe that they know exactly what they are doing. In reality, most people know about enough to get themselves into trouble. This can include parts people… So, imagine trying to get parts for someone who believes they know everything or imagine dealing with a counter person who thinks they know everything. It can be tough on both sides of the counter. Also, people don’t typically want to spend money on their car, and being without their car is very stressful, so I typically see bad reviews at parts stores from stressed out customers with broken cars that they can’t afford to fix.
Having said all this. This location does a really good job at this balancing act of treating the customer right without being too «know-​it-​all». A special shout out to my favorite employee Edward; he always greets people and treats them right. You can get parts at many places, but customer service in the automotive industry can be difficult, and they do treat me right. This location is only a few months old, clean, and plenty of parking.
As far as an additional reason to …“Why should I go here”…, and a bonus tip. They actually loan out specialty tools. There are times in a mechanic’s life where you may need a special puller or installation tool. You might use this tool once a year… Therefore, why buy it when you can borrow it for FREE. Simply pay for the tool in full, go home and use the tool, and bring it back for a full refund.

This is where the O’Reilly’s on Freeport moved, and from my experience the other day, it seems they left their excellent customer service behind.
I came in looking for a couple small items. I found what I wanted without any help. But then when help was needed to check out, still none was available.
There were other shoppers in the store waiting to check out but no employees anywhere around.
When I got tired of waiting I moved to where I could see into the back room where a couple employees were standing talking to each other. They could see me but made no move to acknowledge my presence or come see if anything was needed.
It was only after I spoke up and asked, «Is there anyone available to come ring-​up purchases?» that one guy came out and took care of it.

Fernando helped us buy and install windshield wipers even though he was short staff. He took the time to help us out. Great customer service! Too bad I don’t live in Sacramento.

I called first with a few technical questions and see if they had what I needed. Jose gladly answered all my questions. I went there later the same week and was pleased to see how clean and new it is. Parking lot is nice too. It may be a little easy to miss since it’s off of a major street. Daniel helped me locate the part, offered to install it for me. As a girl without much experience in automotive parts, I greatly appreciated the fact he did everything for me without charge. He provided excellent service and did more than what he needed. I am happy with O’reilly at this location. I will be back in the future.
