New Happy Day Spa

Ok I’ve had a lot of massages in my adult life and I must say that tonight I just had one of the best massages EVER by Lisa!
She was amazing from start to finish! I’m talking the type of massage where you swear the person must have magic hands w/​an advanced degree in physical therapy and anatomy! No exaggeration!
I walked in tense and walked out feeling amazing!
I’d guesstimate I’ve probably had 200+ massages and this experience rates in my top 2!
Lisa is tiny/​petite but don’t let that fool you! She’s one of a kind! :)
Also the ambience inside is great and everyone is super nice too! :)

My friend and I went there for my birthday. We bought a groupon for a 1 hour massage and a 1 hour facial. We agreed the facial was absolutely amazing. The massage was good but was really rough, and when we asked to soften up, they didnt. Also, as we were leaving my friend was asked by the front desk to leave a tip for her masseuse. I thought that was extremely rude, not only did she leave a fairly nice tip for her facial, she was never given a binder for her masseuse to tip him. It was an extreme turn off to ask for a tip, and not only that they were extremely rude about it.

Was one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had. Husband and I went in for a couples massage where the masseuse snickered, sighed, made jokes, and laughed at my body. Talk about uncomfortable, rude, and violating. Nobody wants their body made fun of when they’ve spent a fair amount of cash for the services the business is providing. I would strongly suggest that if you are plus size finding a more body positive spa to spend your money at.

Let’s see where do I begin…
Well for starters my massage was suppose to start at 9 so I came ten minutes early and they were running behind so I waited 30 minutes starting at 9:20. While I was waiting for my message in the lobby two co workers were yelling at the top their lungs at each other. Actually the girl worker was trying to calm the guy worker down but he was just going out of control they had to take it outside and I could hear them screaming outside (mind you I came here for a massage to feel relaxed and they were making me feel tense).
Besides that drama, the message was less than average and thats even considering the low $ 40 price they charged. I think my lady was probably around 60 years old and she was massaging me with her arm and elbow majority of the time! While getting a message all I heard outside of the door was guys practically yelling and it was just so uncomfortable!
In all, my advise is go somewhere else and avoid this place like the plague! Pay a little more money and go to a more professional place. I’m pretty sure these people are not even certified and they don’t speak a lick of English. All they say is, «u ok» about ten times throughout the massage. Also, I felt like when I got my head massage she was scraping my scalp off with her fingertips!
Don’t waste your money here!

When I went for my massage the person I had as a masseuse didn’t speak English so I had to communicate with someone else before the massage and they translated what I wanted. While on the table I was unable to communicate with the masseuse as to pressure etc. which was very disturbing for me since he wasn’t following the instructions I had given the person at the front desk. It was a terrible experience and a total waste of money. The only reason I even knew to express what I wanted in a massage to the receptionist is because the person before me did the same with her masseuse otherwise I would have ever known. If you are looking for a good experience with someone who speaks English this is NOT the place to go.

I have been to this location about 8 times so far, I have had a amazing experience every time I have come in. When I get a body massage I always make a appointment but sometimes I drop in for a foot massage and I have always been seen in a reasonable amount of time. I have only received one facial here so far and it was pleasant, but I prefer coming for the massages.
So I have read other reviews and I’m very surprised by the negative ones. I always go to Amy, she is amazing. When I feel the pressure is too intense I say it’s to rough and she always adjust her strokes to a lighter motion. She ask several times throughout the massage if I’m okay… you must speak up, if it’s rough day so if it’s too light say so. Everyone has there own preferences… no one will know what you like unless you say something.
It’s clean, they always offer water when I’m waiting. If you like someone gentle and who listens to your needs I would diffidently recommend Amy.

Good couples massage.

So I decided to make an appointment for a microdermabrasion facial since I haven’t had one in a while. Was able to make an appointment the same day. When I got there, I waited about 10 minutes since I was pretty early. Right at 2pm, Minna came to grab me, took me to the facial room, and started on me right away. She massaged my face with something for about 15 minutes while a steamer was literally in front of my face (couldn’t really breathe), then did some extractions (it hurt so bad, as if my face was being scraped off) of black heads/​etc., then used the microderm machine. After, she placed an acne mask on my face and let it sit for a good 15 minutes, peeled it off, then applied some moisturizer. Right at 3pm, I was done.
Minna was really nice and friendly. Would I come back? I would have to wait and see after a couple of days. Usually, you can’t tell if you had a good facial after a few days or so. $ 45 is not bad considering it usually runs for over $ 90 at most salons.
Oh, the lady in the front will try and sell you the package deal… 10 tickets for $ 180. After I told her not right now, she lowered the price to $ 100, and after I said no again, she still insisted is was a good deal. Grrr, I just hate pushy employees!
Will update my review after a few day… Hopefully my skin is looking better then!
Update: after a few days, my skin is looking good! My coworkers even noticed a change. Less visible pores and my acne cleared up! Definitely getting a microderm every month!

I visit New Happy Day Spa about once a week. They have one of the cleanest and most friendly atmospheres for the $ 25 refloxology massage places that I have ever visited. Also, their front desk staff is friendly, speaks English well, and is great with scheduling appointments.
Every massage I have had has been very good! One tip though is that their other services, such as the body wrap is not really good and not worth the price. Stick to the foot massage, which really covers the whole body with a focus on the feet or the body massage if you want a focus on the back.

I’ve been here a couple of times and was pleased with their service, unfortunately this last visit left me disappointed. My girlfriend and I came in for a foot massage without an appointment but were told if we waited about 15 to 20 minutes they would have openings for us. After 20 minutes of waiting in lobby the receptionist approached us and apologized saying that they wouldn’t have any openings for another 2 hours, then she gave us a business card.
I would think for the inconvenience of waiting in the lobby for twenty minutes only to be told that we would have to come back later that we would be given more than a worthless business card!!!
Probably won’t be coming back here again :-(

Bit more expensive then other «Happy spa» but better service. I took 90 min. combo (45 min. Foot & 45 min. Body) and it was one of the great massage. Now I have one more place to go for the good massage.

Great customer service. I called the same day I wanted my massage and didn’t have a hard time doing so. I showed up for my massage that evening and asked how much more a hot stone massage would be and it was only $ 5 more! Jasmine did my facial and she was very nice however, I would recommend you ask for a room further away from the break room. It was a bit distracting hearing the workers in the other room. My hot stone massage was done by Bruce. if you like deep tissue ask for him! If you tell him the specific areas you want done he will do it! I walked out of this place very relaxed!

Came here close to closing time with my girlfriend, which is NOT recommended. Lucy and Mona — both seem tired and were constantly yawning. They both gave very soft massages… at least Lucy was able to adjust when I requested for her to «go harder.»
The lady at the counter also hustled us to sell the massage deal — she did a good job because we actually bought them! Lol
I’ll give them another chance, since it was so late in the evening.

Honestly, this place is hands down one of the best places I’ve ever been too for a foot massage. It’s like $ 25 and they massage your whole body for an hour. When you’re waiting in the waiting room they have warm tea and cookies and once you’re back they have really relaxing music on and a dark room to help you unwind. Yes there’s other people in the room with you but it’s honestly not anything to complain about. Everyone is in their own world and you literally are going to enjoy every moment. I love this place and will be back very soon. I recommend calling ahead of time to schedule an appt. they also have deals going on all the time.

I called at 10am on a Friday to make an appointment for three of us at 10:45am the same day. We got there and they took us right in. Everyone was pleasant, the atmosphere calm and inviting.
Great massage by Monica. I left feeling relaxed and rejuvenated. She has just the right touch, not too light, not too heavy. My wife and «adopted» daughter had a great experience as well. We used a coupon out of the Natomas Shopper, I went online and printed three copies. When it came time to pay, we paid in cash and although they try to sell you a booklet of coupons for additional massages, I always politely say no. They’re never pushy which I appreciate.
It’s always a great experience, you can’t beat the price either. We’ll certainty be back.

Look, its all about your masseuse. I have my two faves at all times, coz one may have the day off or not available at that time. Worth asking for their names:
1) Tony — I pick him when I want it rough. I mean serious-​whack me up — knuckles– cracking-he’s-on-a-mission. He’s my BFF for a few years now and he is able to deliver consistent pressure throughout the day, or years for that matter. He has known me so he figured I’m all his! Good after long driving from LA, from my Muay Thai work out, spring cleaning, etc.
2) Alex — I choose him when I want deep, slow you can feel his fingers running thru your shoulder blades… your joints. your neck… your nape… ahhhh… heaven! Choose him after a stressful day at work, feeling bitchy, edgy or just want to kill someone.
Tell them what you want, or before you even start, tell the receptionist how you want it (example: concentrate on back, don’t do face massage I got my make-​up on, etc whatever) Talk respectfully, simplify your language, don’t shout but speak slowly. If I need to charge my phone while doing the massage, they will choose a chair for you next to the outlet. Communication is never the problem.
Its hard work. I tip at least minimum wage. You get a bargain price so if you want the frills and spa ambience this is not it, pick a different place and don’t take it out on my masseuse.

Wow Amazing Blissful Experience!!! Unlike some of the Groupon Reviewers’ disappointment! I was skeptical after reading their Reviews and even brought my own towel Perhaps the New Happy Day Spa improved its services due to some complaint on Unilocal who knows. It is good when one have lost track of time (thought I had an hour when only half way through it). Here are the facts from today’s Spa Experience:
1) Groupon purchased for mom but she doesn’t want it so I used it on myself.
2) Scheduled for one 1-​hour Hot Stone yesterday (about a week before this Groupon expires!) and mentioned specifically that I had a Groupon. Requested for a female.
3) Arrived 7 minutes before appointment, no worries. Receptionist mention one Hot Stone Massage and took my Groupon number. A couple step out of their session looking happy and satisfied. Masseuse was ready for my session right away on time!
4) In the room, Masseuse asked me to remove my clothes and step outside. She knocked the door about 5 minutes later with a bucket of Hot Stones. Then I ask her name and greeted her.
5) Throughout the massage Monica (the very tall Asian lady about 5 Feet 9 inches Tall) was very professional (her technique was excellent). At the beginning I did asked her to go softer and she got it right away!
6) For about the first 10 – 15 minutes, Monica didn’t use the Hot Stones and I didn’t bother to ask her because I was enjoying her «warm-​up» on my back! And second, I was never a fan of the Hot Stone due to past unpleasant experiences.
7) There is a reason why she waited, otherwise I would have burn back lols.
Also, she made sure the heat of the stones weren’t extreme. And they felt great on the massage oil against my tired muscles.
8) Afterward she let the wet hot towel cool a bit before placing on my back and Cleanse away the massage oil. Very thoughtful of her!
9) Followed by my arms and legs (fewer time but I am fine with that).
10) Not one minute less which ended exactly on 1-​hour mark!
Overall experience was Excellent!
The receptionist never asked for more tips maybe I have given them $ 12 for Monica’s great services! And receptionist thank me politely!
Will definitely come back!

Clean, SUPER accessible and easy massage parlor! I love being able to call and get right in or just walk in for a massage. I have had several massages here– used Groupons for each. All massages have been great! They even have a couples massage room — 2 people in 1 room.

Let’s get one thing straight, this is NOT a fancy day spa. Do your research, or you’ll end up looking like the rest of the — not so smart — people on here. This is the type of place you go to when you want a FIRM and CHEAP massage.
Again, it’s very cheap compared to fancy day spas. I buy the books of ten massages for $ 16 per massage, and I come here about every two weeks. I don’t feel guilty because the price is so low. Remember, you pay for what you get. I think the massages here are well worth their price.
Yes, they are going to be rough and firm. I don’t remember the last time I wanted a massage and wanted them to be extremely gentle. One of the biggest reasons people get massages is because they have tension or knots. How do you think you get those out?! Yes, they are probably going to climb on you and use their body weight for pressure. Personally, I have a smaller body type so they don’t climb on me because they probably know they would hurt me! But I’ve also had a Thai massage where it’s very common for them to climb on you.
Bottom line. Do your research. Don’t expect some fancy day spa atmosphere. Remember what you are paying. Communicate! Let them know exactly what you want. And last. be open-​minded!

Gave them a call, booked appointment for HOT STONE MASSAGE.
Got there, checked in. 2 minutes later LUCY came and got me for my massage.
The massage lasted from 3:27pm-4:19pm
She wasn’t Notified by the receptionist that it was a HOT STONE MASSAGE. But since 10−15mins passed already I didn’t want to tell her to STOP. That would be rude since it was the receptionists fault. I finished my massage and still tipped her $ 10 because the massage was OKAY.
I go upto the receptionist to tell her that I had booked a HOT STONE MASSAGE. she replied «WHY DIDNT YOU TELL ME». i told her I did. While laughing she said «OH OKAY NEXT TIME YOU TELL ME, WE STILL REDEEM YOUR GROUPON BECAUSE YOU GOT MASSAGE». Right after that she had the guts to ask me «DID YOU ALREADY TAKE CARE OF LUCYS TIPS».
I felt like slapping that smile off her face.
I will NEVER return to «HAPPY» DAY SPA. and will encourage others not to as well.
