Mike is beyond professional and responsive to his clients. I am in the industry and I personally asked for Mike to be my DJ for my event. I am a wedding photographer who has shot hundreds of weddings. I have had the privilege of shooting a number of weddings with Mike. What I observed in my dealings with Mike is that he is so competent at what he does, so cool under pressure and ever thinking on his feet. What this means for your event is that you can be assured Mike will keep the party going with energy, focus and good times. I can’t recommend Mike enough to be your DJ. They were super professional. They guided us through the process and made it a ton of fun. Day-​of the DJ was basically able to double as an MC and keep our wedding running smoothly. We had an awesome time with them! Originally we had been thinking of trying to manage the music ourselves but we are so happy we sprung the extra for a professional. There were so many little details and segues that we hadn’t considered and Mr DJ had us completely covered. Do your guests a favor and hire Mr DJ. My husband and I just had our wedding at Catta Verdera this past Saturday September 26^th, 2015! We had the pleasure of working with Mike and Raymond.
Rewind to about 9 months ago I began researching Djs in the Sacramento area on Unilocal!
My husband and I had an interview with another DJ company and right off the bat from the moment sitting down with the 2 Djs I knew it wasn’t a fit and I ended up having to tell them that we would not be using them. I was worried that I would never find a DJ that would fit what we were looking for… Until I stumbled upon Mr. Dj Event Services.
We met with Mike R and Ray at a local restaurant and IMMEDIATELY my husband and I felt a connection with both mike and Ray.
Raymond was the main DJ for our wedding and I am more than impressed with his professionalism and his personality! He was absolutely amazing and made our night so special. Down to the timing of the music, from the music he played to checking in with my husband and I making sure we had everything we needed during the night! I would and will recommend this company and have them use Raymond as their DJ! It was the best experience!!!

I cannot possibly say enough about Mike Regan! We hired his as our wedding DJ, and it was the best decision we made to date! Starting from the beginning he was very energetic, very interested in learning about my husband and I, and truly took the time to understand what it was we were looking for in a DJ. We were sold during the interview process, when he asked us to give him a couple words to describe our wedding and a phrase that we wanted our gusted saying at the end of the night. He wasn’t looking to get hired to play music at our wedding, he was looking to make our night all about us and our vision. He offered suggestions and advice on things we hadn’t thought of, and helped us create the wedding of our dreams! His website was very intuitive, and allowed us to identify some of our favorite songs, as well as the ability to include details about the songs and when we would like to hear them. During our planning meeting, he helped us find tune the schedule I had created for the day, and again, offered advice on timing and flow without being pushy. During the meeting it was very easy to see that I was quite an OCD control freak bride, and Mike totally picked up on that and (in the best possible way) «handled» me extremely well… my new husband should take note!
The day of the wedding Mike showed up completely prepared on time and ready to go! Just before the introductions into the reception I started to put my planning hat back on and he even told me «relax sister I’ve got this» or something to that effect… he took everything I had given his and performed it PERFECTLY! Just what I needed to sit back and enjoy my day. We had a very rowdy crowd, and Mike knew we wanted nothing but the party, and he was great about playing into it and keeping the energy up the entire time! He checked in with us frequently throughout the night, to make sure the vibe was what we wanted. We couldn’t have asked for a better DJ to work with! Our friends and family have been reading about him ever since. Mike is worth every penny and more!!! No questions asked, I would hire him again in a heartbeat!!!

Our wedding was a huge success. I received so many compliments from our guests and even from other vendors about how our wedding was the best wedding they had been too. The secret to our perfect day was surrounding ourselves quality vendors and Mike Regan is a master of his craft.
My husband and I hired Mike for our June 2015 wedding after witnessing his outstanding performance at my mother’s wedding in 2013. My mom informed us about his attention to detail and meticulous planning process that goes into every couples special day, so we decided to meet and discuss plans for our day.
My husband and I knew we wanted more than just a guy to play music. We wanted a Master of Ceremonies, someone who would make our event feel effortless, fun and beautiful. Mike payed close attention to the aspects of the day that were important to my husband and I. He understood the flow and mood that we wanted, and was especially wonderful at giving suggestions. When it came time to planning the music, Mike was very engaged in the process. His passion shines through as he evokes laughter and a few tears as you imagine the «moments» of your event.
When the big day came, Mike was a major influence on the timeline and coordination with our planner and vendors. You can plan the timeline all you want, but the MC is really the major player in making sure everything runs smooth and efficiently. There was a point where some of the music we chose wasn’t getting the energy we wanted, Mike knew just what to play to get things going. After all he knows best what can get a crowd more engaged.
Mike was also responsible for one of the significant moments of our wedding day – The Father Daughter Dance. During the planning stages, I picked out some good, but typical, father daughter songs and I couldn’t choose between them. Mike took this opportunity to guide me through my childhood memories, to find the PERFECT song which was unique and nostalgic. Mike’s devotion to his work created one of the best moments of my wedding day.

If you are looking for a DJ for your wedding or any special event… look no further! I recently got married and using Mike as our deejay was one of the best choices that I made, he is the absolute BEST!
I found Mike on a recommended vendor list given to us by our venue. I reached out and he responded very quickly to set up an initial phone meeting. We opted to FaceTime as our schedules were crazy and within 5 minutes of talking with him I knew he was the perfect fit for us. He was so easy to talk to, made me laugh (A LOT) and made me feel really comfortable (even though I was Face timing with a complete stranger!!)
Mike made the planning process a breeze. One you book, he provides access to these online tools which were so helpful in guiding me in my song choices. Both my husband and I were having a hard time narrowing down the songs for the dances and Mike came to the rescue. I gave him 3 words that described the relationship between my father and I and within 30 seconds he had multiple song ideas for me to choose from. He did the same for my husband and we could not have been more grateful for his guidance!
The day of the event, Mike is more than just your DJ. He is very attentive to your needs and knows how to show your guests a good time. His announcements were fun, not cheesy and his song choices were simply perfect. Also, we opted to use his Photo Booth and that was worth the additional cost. He brought a colleague to work the booth and they even made us a guest book with the photos!
Mike was so much fun to work with and is truly a master of his craft. If I ever need a DJ again, I will without a doubt book MR DJ! Thank you for making our wedding everything we had hoped and more! :)

Our friends had come to us for recommendations when it was time to plan their wedding and we instantly told them that Mike was one of the best parts of our wedding! We had told so many friends about how he had «saved» my in-law’s speech and how he and our day of coordinator worked together to make sure we had an amazing time. We were so delighted to hear that they had booked him for their wedding!
While there were many things that I know I didn’t personally witness, I heard how he helped save a special moment for the bride and groom (which you can read from other reviews). Apparently, the restaurant servers (who had provided the most horrible service all night long) decided to start slicing a sheet cake BEFORE the bride and groom were able to cut their tier cake. As always, Mike once again became a hero for another amazing couple and stopped them before they could start.
This is what had made us decide to go with Mike… his experience and hyper attention to detail. Mike is always attentive to the bride and groom during the wedding and tries to make things as stress-​free as possible. Being a previous client of Mike’s, I can tell you that he is the best investment/​decision that we had for our wedding. He ensured I remained calm and had a good time (which, if you knew me, is really hard for me to do because I am a HUGE control freak). His attention to detail ensured that even the little things were taken care of and he really knows how to read the crowds to make sure the energy in the room remains in the realm of AWESOMENESS.
DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME LOOKING AT OTHER DJ’S (I personally interviewed a huge number of DJ’s before we chose Mr. DJ Services and none of the other DJ’s were able to see our vision and go with it)…MIKE IS THE ABSOLUTE BEST AT WHAT HE DOES AND YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED.

My brother hired Mike Regan for his wedding recently and this man is amazing! Mr. Regan is super attentive to the bride and groom. Constantly checking in on them and asking them if they need a drink, etc. His professionalism hails from his degree and training in radio and broadcasting. He entertained the guests with fun games, such as mad libs and a twist on musical chairs.
We had terrible service from the restaurant and the servers started to cut the sheet cake before the bride/​groom had a chance to cut the actual wedding cake. Both Mr. Regan and I saw the server cutting into the sheet cake and he ran after them to tell them to stop immediately. Again, his attention to details is very important!
He has a good playlist and played the latest hits that’s good for dancing. You can also rent a photo booth and his staff manning it was very nice. The photo booth also comes with a video component, so you can record yourself after your photo is taken. The bride asked if we can have the booth for an extra half hour, and he said it wasn’t a problem and stayed a little bit longer.
Hire this man for your events and you won’t regret it!!!

My husband and I got married over the weekend and we cannot say enough about MR DJ EVENT SERVICES. Mike Regan (owner) treats you like family and our DJ, Mike Jones? Wow. What a lovely man and incredible talent. His calm demeanor and overall astute presence, completely put our minds at ease. Having personally planned and organized our entire wedding at my parents home, I found it somewhat of a challenge to step back the day of. My wonderful mother however, inherently took on the role as master and chief. Once Mike arrived, he took over in such a humble and graceful manner, we weren’t even cognizant of the transfer in duties until we noticed my mom having the time of her life, just as we were. I am forever grateful for this. My husband, myself, and our families, were able to immerse ourselves in each and every moment, worry free, and as it should be. I very much attribute this to Mike and his exceptional level of professionalism.
Lastly, there is a part of the brain, known as the medial, pre-​frontal cortex. This is our music-​processing, music-​memories region of our brain. This particular cortex has been shown to actively track chord and key changes in music and if viewing the brain through use of an MRI, actually lights up in response to self-​refelction and recalls of autobiographical details. This past weekend, while dancing under the stars with our dearest family and friends, we were brought back to a time of immense joy and carefree living; our youth. This connection to our youth, on our wedding day, created a euphoria we will never forget. If there weren’t county ordinances prohibiting it, I am confident we would still be out there, dancing under the stars like we were kids again. First off, this review is embarrassingly overdue. But for everyone out there researching Mike and the whole Mr. DJ experience for your event, this bride right here is telling you book now, lock it in, and thank me later.
I planned my wedding from across the country in New York, and Mr. DJ was the first vendor decision I made. It wasn’t so much the reviews that swayed me – but they did help! (that’s why I’m here doing my part) I was more impressed by the quick email response to my initial inquiry, followed by a few phone chats with Mike that were way more fun (and way less awkward) than that sort of thing is supposed to be.
Now, I only worked with Mike, the owner of the company, so that’s all I can speak to in terms of our experience. Right off the bat, there was an issue with our deposit check not making it to California, but Mike was gracious and understanding and never pressed the issue at all.
Since we weren’t in town much for regular planning meetings, Mike was available to us via email, phone and Skype at our request. We had some great talks about music and what we were going for. I wanted bouncy, Django Reinhardt music at dinner (for reasons that all made sense at the time), and my husband is off-​the-​boat Irish, so he had some traditional music that he really wanted to include. Mike wasn’t phased by any of it. His website made it easy for us to create and edit our music lists, and he found and played just about everything we requested.
When he made the first of his two site visits to the venue, he offered up a number of options for lighting the property in addition to his DJ services. We thankfully took him up on that and ended up with incredible lighting that didn’t look one bit like a cheeseball prom (an initial concern of mine). It truly set the stage for an unforgettable night.
Mike was also a great resource for me as a bride. He knew I was a little non-​traditional and offered up some great alternatives when we said we’d rather not do a garter or bouquet toss. More than once, he had to talk me out of an idea he knew just wouldn’t work. But he always had another option or at least a really solid reason behind it. That sort of guidance is invaluable for a bride, so you can keep focused on the bigger picture rather than drowning in little details that will never come together the way you hope they will.
On the big day itself, Mike was there bright and early to set up. I never saw him without a smile, and that goes for pretty much every time I’ve ever seen him. Beyond flawlessly pulling off the (outdoor) ceremony and cocktail hour, Mike and his assistant worked with my planner and caterer, and kept everything flowing right on time.
It must also be noted that in the category of above and beyond, Mike totally wins. My husband (who insisted I mention this) said that Mike was regularly checking on him, letting him know what was coming next, and even straightening his tie and suit to make sure he looked presentable for any candid photos he was caught in. Mike was also one of the very first people there to set up in the morning, and one of the last to leave, after making sure all of his responsibilities were taken care of.
From start to finish, Mike and Mr. DJ delivered. This was a major factor in the success of our wedding. You’re getting so much more than a DJ working with him, you’re getting an event pro who knows how to pull off the perfect party.

Just had our wedding last Saturday. MIKE REGAN was incredible. I would highly recommend him again and again. He is wonderful. The music was great and he helped us stay on time with the various evening activities.

I got married in October of 2014. The owner Mike Reagan is great. We met twice and he was able to accommodate all of my musical needs. Mike Jones was the DJ at the wedding. This guy was so amazing and professional. Several people at the wedding wanted to know who DJed the event. he was just that good. We also rented a photo booth from them. The guests had so much fun with it and we got copies of all the pictures. Looking for wedding vendors is a lot of work. Do yourself a favor and just go with Mr. DJ Event Services.

If you don’t hire Mike Regan as your wedding DJ, your wedding is going to suck. Okay, maybe it won’t totally suck, but yeah… it probably will. Mike Regan was created to entertain. He found his earthly calling and everyone else is just here to enjoy. But Mike Regan is so much more than an DJ, so let me explain.
When I met with Mike the first time he made my fiancée and I feel extremely comfortable. He was prepared with questions on how we wanted the wedding to look and feel. If you want a laid-​back wedding where the guests are mingling, Mike can do that. If you want a party — and I mean a real party — Mike can do that too. He asked me about my father-​daughter dance and I had no idea what I wanted. And then he asked one question and within 10 seconds he was literally playing the perfect song on his laptop. Really? Who does this? Mike is not just a DJ, he is a magician.
A little further into wedding planning I was having a panic attack day (if you aren’t there yet, goodness!) I called Mike and he sat on the phone with me and reassured me it was all going to be okay. So there you go… Mike is not just a DJ, he is also a bride therapist.
And then comes the wedding. Mike was such a joy, I doubt I could explain what he did for my fiancée and I. There are the little things… like an awesome photo booth that everyone, and I do mean everyone, loved. There was the light on the dance floor in my personalized logo, that everyone loved. There was the video of baby pictures of us that had been put together so perfectly I was crying in laughter. And then there are the big things… see my nieces dance the night away, seeing my father’s face when the perfect song started playing, seeing the pure joy in all of my guests faces. Wow, those were the big things. My wedding turned out perfect, really perfect, and a HUGE piece of that puzzle was Mike Regan. So yeah, Mike is not just a DJ, he’s a miracle worker.
Mike is a genius and a true master of his craft. He knows people, and better yet, he knows an audience. He will leave your guests wanting more. He will entertain them, he will make them laugh, and then he will make them cry. And isn’t that what we all want? A wedding where everyone feels important and involved but at the same time eager to celebrate the couple?
So here is my advice. Wedding planning is like a crazy train ride, and you need Mike Regan as your conductor. If your wedding date is booked on his calendar, I’d suggest changing it. No… really, I’m not joking. Or again, your wedding will suck.

Getting a DJ for my wedding was the easiest decision I made. My brother had Mike perform at his wedding a few years ago, and was incredible. He was the DJ and wedding coordinator rolled into one. He made the job look easy, and EVERYONE was dancing. When my wife and I started to look at wedding venues, my first call was to Mr. DJ to check his availability. After the wedding, we made the right decision. People couldn’t wait for dinner to start dancing, and the night continued beautifully. Even with the dancing getting started early, Mike was able to keep the energy going, while getting in speeches and the father-​daughter dance. Before anyone plans a wedding, they should call Mr. DJ first.

I have been waiting and waiting to get married so I could have Mr. DJ Service make my party amazing with music and lighting. When my longtime boyfriend finally proposed, after we called our parents, we called Mr. DJ Service to find our what dates he was available before we started looking at spaces.
We had our first meeting with Mike to discuss our engagement party. He made friends with my dog and my Mom. (Both equally important). He had SO many fun and great ideas for the party. He is so easy to work with and after meeting with him I am even more excited for our Engagement Party and other upcoming events!
Part Two: We had our party… and it was AMAZING!
What was suppose to be an engagement party was actually a surprise wedding. I cannot imagine pulling off this event without Mike. He had a lot on his plate not just because he was in charge of the lighting, music, photo booth and all those goes into all of that. We also had him marry us! He did all of it to perfection.
I can say so many things about how Mike and his team made our night the best night of our lives. But I don’t think I can express it in a way that gives you the full idea of JUST how amazing he made our night. He had people laughing, crying, dancing and everything in between.
What I can say is this. If you are looking to hire a DJ, it must be for some type of important event in your life. If you want that day to be completely unforgettable and the best night of your life, you will hire Mr. DJ service. I made my own décor, I bought vases at Goodwill, I scrimped on certain expenses just to MAKE SURE I could have him at our wedding. I would suggest if cost is an issue you do the same.
If you want your phone blown up with text messages from your friends the day after your party telling you it was the best wedding they had every been to… Hire Mr. DJ. You wont regret it.

Mike takes the time to get to know his couples and what they want. The feel, the mood, the memories made. His fun attitude is infectious and we could NOT imagine having anyone else be a master of ceremonies for our wedding. The lighting he also provided us at the Sutter Club was superb for the ambiance. Our DJ was NOT expensive he was PRICELESS. You cannot put a price on a pro being in charge of the most important day of your life.

I would highly recommend Mike’s services. I first saw him in action at my cousin’s wedding where he was coordinating the event and he is the best DJ I have seen really getting the crowd involved and engaged making a lifetime memory. Looking for wedding vendors is no easy task, it takes many many many hours of internet shopping, reading reviews, asking around, going to wedding shows etc. I realize you can get a cheap dj for a wedding but u get what you pay for and this is one area u dont want to be cheap. i read so many great things about mike and decided he was a great fit and contacted him. we did our first meeting which was really fun. he makes you feel like your hanging out with a friend and has EXTREME knowledge of what works and dosnt work for your guests to have a great time. i was very confident in him and could relax in knowing he knew what he was doing…
3 days before my wedding my officiant had an accident and had to have emergency surgery. I WAS FREAKING OUT… after mike found out he jumped into action and text me saying he was ordained and could do it for us i we needed. we decided we would take him up on this since we had no one else and i knew he would do fabulous. hes just so great with people :)
we wrote the ceremony together over the phone friday morning, my phone was on speaker while i was packing for the wedding since i had just a few hours till my rehersal. he loved our ideas and did all that we wished… pulling out our personalities but making sure we keep it to the outline of a wedding :) I HUNG UP FEELING SOOOO EXCITED AND SO THANKFUL. he knows what hes doing, he knows people, he knows crowds… he can get anyone up on the dance floor. my dance floor was packed till the very last second. if he played till 5am we would have danced till 5am… uncles i have never seen dance were out there shakin there tail feathers!
when i met with mike at our first meeting he asked what was important to me? i said i wanted everyone to have fun. and thats what everyone had. my mom has told me about 20 times how much everyone has said they had so much fun dancing and the music was great. i have been told by many many of my guests it was the funnest wedding they ever attended!!!
I booked lighting, dj, a photobooth and an officiante with mr dj service and i call mike the one stop shop… i bet he would make someone a cake i they needed it too! he goes above and beyond, hes fun and proessional and truely will make your wedding perfect…
