Been here twice and will keep goin’. Clean, new place with good tasting food all around. Burgers are ordered first and you place condiments afterward at an open bar. My favorite is adding cheese and bacon to the burger first. Milkshake flavors are also pretty diverse. I also thought it was awesome they offered both Cajun and Seasoned Salt for toppings for the fries. Check it out at least once when you’re in the area. They don’t get a 5th star because I’m not super wow’ed and that’s reserved for places like. Mulvaney’s haha.

Pretty juicy burger I must say! They serve you a bunch load of fries with it! Pretty cool atmosphere I would say it is better than Five Guys. One improvement: maybe a bigger kind of buns for the patty, patties are to big(fat).

The food was not bad. Gives you a bunch of different combinations to add to your burger which was pretty interesting. Worth checking out if you want a different experience than in and out or five guys burgers.

Impressed. They cook the burger, melt the cheese, and toast the bun. You dress it with condiments. I got the meaty one with pastrami and bacon… and yes, they actually pile on the bacon. The produce was fresh, they even had pickled onions and jalapenos. The only drawback was that the thongs I picked up was greasy. Big bonus, they have beer on tap, including my favorite Firehouse 805. Price was just right, it was a $ 10 meal minus the drink. I got the curly garlic fries, they were alright, probably a 6.5 out of 10. My lady got the grilled chicken sandwich, and it was a huge portion of chicken.

People of Natomas rejoice as you have a pretty dang good burger joint. Per the owner, this is their first foray into the Sacramento market as the other location is in Vacaville. We live in a crowded burger market and you better bring it if you are gonna make it. This was my first visit but I walked away impressed and won’t mind a return. Ordered their namesake burger the«Monsoon». It is a ½ lb behemoth with guacamole, perfectly cooked bacon, grilled mushrooms and your choice of cheese(I went Pepper Jack). The bun was toasted and had a nice squishy outside and was an excellent vehicle. The fresh beef was nicely seared and came out perfectly medium. If you want a good burger and find yourself in Natomas, look this place up.

There’s a bunch of places in Natomas that you can get a burger but this one is definitely the best place to get a good burger in my opinion. I’m not going to go on here and rate this place less or more because of customer service. But if you need to know, the service was great. Very friendly staff there. My rating/review is for the food. The menu was hard to find. I thought it would be on the wall somewhere until I saw the cashier holding a paper menu there for me. There’s a lot of options to choose from so take your time, they don’t rush you. My wife and I ordered the«NOLA» which is a burger topped with a hot link. I ordered the 8 oz burger medium and my wife ordered the same but a 6 oz and medium well. Burgers were perfectly grilled and cheese was melted. The way the burgers come out is burger bun, burger patty, cheese and whatever special roping the burger comes with. The condiments are do it yourself with a stand to the right of the cashier area. All the normal toppings and spreads and had a nice selection of peppers as well. The burgers are so good that you might not even need the toppings. The burgers also come with fries but can be upgraded to curly fries or garlic fries. The fries are good by themselves with a touch of ketchup. A little tip for a newbie to Monsoon Burger is if you just want something to eat, go for a 6 oz. If you’re hungry then go for 8 oz. That will keep you full for a few hours. Definitely worth the money and like I said, best place in Natomas For burgers that I’ve been to.

Mmmhmm, this is a tasty burger. As a resident of the area I’m happy to see any new businesses open up, even happier yet when they serve food as good as this. I got the 6 ounce Pastrami Burger and it was excellent. The meat is fresh, so I had them cook it medium. It was incredibly moist and flavorful, and had a good crust on the outside. They topped it with a good-quality pastrami that had a nice salty punch. I got the burger with havarti cheese, because havarti. I liked the idea of the topping bar because I could choose what I wanted and in what quantity. The burger came with fries on the side, to which I applied cajun seasoning from the topping bar. The fries had a crisp outside and a soft inside, and the cajun seasoning was a nice option. The 6 ounce size ended up being plenty for me and I walked away full and happy.

Awesome burger joint in Natomas! I’m very happy this place has opened and its in a great location… It’s in the same complex as Jacks Urban Eats and Kabob Palace! This burger joint is different from In N Out and Carl’s Jr… It’s a great open kitchen with a creative menu with an open produce and toppings bar! The setting is pretty cool… Has the basic Tables and has a Huge bar stool area when you walk in… Has nice big screen tvs to watch the games! There is also outdoor seating which is always a plus! I ordered the Monsoon burger which was GREAT! The burger patty was big and toast the bun… But the best part was the sautéed mushrooms and guacamole… With crispy fresh bacon to top it off! It was a great burger and I’ve ordered every time I visit monsoon! Also the fries are pretty good… I ordered the CURLY garlic fries which are delicious! The owner JIM is a real cool dude… Friendly, professional and treats the customers with respect! Anytime I’m in a mood for a burger, I will come to monsoon! It’s a must try… I hope they have more milk shake selection… Last time, they only had two flavors… See you soon monsoon!!!

Awesome quality of all food here. This place is on a steady climb to becoming one of the more original burger joints in Sacramento. It isn’t your dad’s greasy burger joint. This is a place with burgers both filling and satisfying. The toppings at the bar is so original that it’s surprising more places don’t do it. Choices like spinach, tomatoes, red and white onions, pickles, relish, jalapeños, yellow peppers, poco de gallo, fresh lettuce can turn a simple hamburger into a mile high mouth stuffer. Siracha, buffalo sauce, tapatio and ketchup and mustard are also available too. The choices to upgrade regular fries or carrot sticks into either curly fries or garlic fries for a $ 1.50 didn’t go by unnoticed. The garlic fries were maybe a little too salty though. Side note; My mouth tastes like garlic for a few hours after the meal lol. This place is still finishing the touches on what looks to be a real premier burger joint in North Sacramento. Menus aren’t on boards yet and the beer taps aren’t ready for use. This place does sport two TV’s on opposite ends of the restaurant.

Very good meal, very sad basketball. Caught the GSW game while simultaneously trying their burgers. Decided on the 8 oz Southwest(bleu cheese, bacon, onion ring, bbq sauce) burger, medium. Why not just call it a ½ lb burger? Upgraded to curly fries because why not? Also got a fountain drink, man those cups are huge. Cherry Coke FTW. Anyway, that burger was pretty good! Too big to bite into so I ate the onion ring alone then reassembled the burger. Could have used more blue cheese, but the bacon was perfectly crispy. I added lettuce, jalapenos, pickles to complete it. A huge plate, once the burger was polished off, the fries kept me full for sure. Small place, clean, neat graffiti mural art on the wall. Two big TV screens, opposite corners. Toppings bar replenished, iced tea dispenser leak fixed. Hall to bathroom is also the hall to the kitchen so beware of bumping into staff. Indoor and outdoor seating. Located next the AAA, sort of near Coldstone.

Two stars for the taste of the burger patty. I say burger patty because this is one of those Fudrucker’s type places were the only thing they do is grill a burger and toast a bun. Add a fries and a drink and you’re twelve dollars in the hole before you’ve even begun. The whole experience is just like getting a hot dog at a carnival. Lots of waiting(and waiting) and then once you have your hot dog all the really tough work begins. I’m not sure I understand the name«Monsoon» except for the tidal waste of juices flowing from my burger into my «plate»(yep, plastic). There was nothing else about the name that made any sense. When I walked in there was a short line of 4 people and giant would-be chalkboard. It merely described how to order in three steps: 1. Order, 2. Wait, 3. Enjoy. More on that third step in a minute. It seemed that there was no menu. I waited in line. And waited. Finally second in line I observed the reason for the wait… the paper menus are at the cash register. I looked behind me and counted 6 more customers waiting. All without menus. This is one of those things you assume is in the pamphlet«So You Want To Open A Restaurant» under Basic Rules of Good Service. When I stepped to the register I had no choice but to spend time reviewing the paper menu. It was my first time so I had to get the lay of the land, of course. Not wanting to be part of the problem I hastily ordered their basic burger. Then, the cashier started with the questions… «For here or to go?», «Would you like a drink with that?», «Would you like fries with that?», «Would you like [something, something] of toppings?» «A what?», I asked. The repeated answer I still did not understand but it was something about my order being to go and to have something to carry my toppings in. «I don’t understand.» I said to her. She tried to explain to me what the process was and I am not sure she knew herself what it was but I assumed that there was something about this process that somehow required a detailed explanation. I quickly changed my To Go order to an «I’ll eat here» order just to end that conversational contraption. Ok, got my cup, got my receipt. Now to wait a wait I expected. Not so bad, right? As it turns out I only waited about 10 minutes. Fair? It’s a toasted bun and a medium grilled burger patty. Ok, Step 3 from above. Now the work begins: I rounded the corner to the«toppings bar». It had been cleaned up since I had arrived and looked like a food magazine photograph. Good job. As for ketchup, mustard, and mayonnaise they are each in two huge tubs with a palm-sized pump for dispensing. The mayonnaise was runny like pancake batter and that just seemed so unappetizing to me. Then after a few minutes of determining how their burger should be assembled I sat down. I reflected on how that conversation between the planners went and how they decided that the«toppings bar» should be the way to go. One can only assume it distracted them from their daily drudgery of [insert lazy over-paid government job here]. The burger itself was good enough. I wish it had rested for a few minutes but it was cold enough already. The bun fell apart leaving me with a crappy lumpy salad. The fries were those thick cut kind and were unsalted(they should get jail time for poor fries). I ate the burger because I was hungry. Not because I enjoyed it or wanted to explore how well they can make a burger. I was hungry. That is all I can say about the burger. Nothing special. Nothing«monsoon». Just food. Maybe. The cashier came out into the dining room and started picking fries up off the floor with her bare hands then went directly to the cash register to help the next customer. This immediately brought into question the standards of cleanliness, health, and safety for their entire business model. Oh, that and the ends of every single bolt used to bolt down the furniture sticking straight up in the air under every table. Hope you’ve had your tetanus shot. In Natomas little restaurants like this have a short shelf-life. They are a dime a dozen and we all try them only once. This one too; only once is all that is needed to know their future.

Ordered the monsoon burger with garlic fries. The guacamole on the burger was good and the bacon was crispy and plentiful. Really clean and crisp inside. Standard toppings bar on the side which is great for all those picky people. It’s hamburger toppings. Not a frozen yogurt bar. So for those people complaining about the plain toppings, I don’t know what you put on burgers but I thought it was great. The fries could be a little better though. If you want a clean tasting burger then this place is for you.

When I heard about monsoon burger I had to try it from all the reviews. I live here in the north Sacramento area and ate a lot of five guys burgers and in-and-out burgers. For the record I am a BIG Five Guys fan. So stating my strong bias up-front here’s my review: — clean place(doesn’t change taste of food but the place is clean) — big TV(doesn’t change the taste of food but for some they desire to add that to a «food review») — lots of toppings including Kim Chee(pickled lettuce) — fries are included in burger price — service is slow(doesn’t affect taste of food but it is not fast food) I ordered the monsoon burger(8oz burger) highly recommended by the server. It is a $ 11.25 burger that came with avocado, mushrooms, cheese, and bacon. I put lettuce and onions and ketchup. The burger was very plain tasting. Nothing special about the burger. It was like something from home. The bacon was good. The avocado was as expected. The burger bun was soggy from all the burger fat and mushrooms. The fries are probably the worst part. It was a plain fry that was very bland with light seasoning. For an $ 12(tax incl) burger I expected a lot more. Monsoon did not deliver.

Hmmm, I could compare it to at least two other burger joints but I won’t. We liked the food and the service was good for the most part. I think we only waited 10 minutes for our order. The cajun curly fries were much better than the regular fries. My husband really appreciated the crispy bacon piled high on top of his monsoon burger. Casual indoor and outdoor seating. They don’t have gluten-free buns, just in case you were wondering. The self-serve toppings seemed pretty basic. For the price, nothing special stood out to make a return visit worth it.

Great experience at Monsoon Burger last night. I had read in another review that they only had one highchair, but the restaurant must have seen that review and fixed the situation because they had lots of highchairs when we were there. I have two young boys, and the restaurant was great for them. We sat outside in the front patio area. The food came out quickly and my Southwest Burger was delicious. I like that they have an option for carrots instead of french fries with the kids meals. My husband got a salad, and he said it was delicious as well.

This is probably the third best burger in the shopping center, behind Bella Bru and Five Guys. Unfortunate choice of location for them. I’ve visited the original in Fairfield and can report the food is the same. The burgers are good. The customization from the topping bar is nice, and the pickled onions are a standout. The sides are just terrible. Generic frozen from-a-bag fries/curly fries/onion rings. Big portions, but so boring.

Really excited that this place is close by. The burger patty is fresh and cooked to your choice. The establishment was clean and modern. Couple tvs to watch and sitting area outside. How you order– you pick your choice of burger.(They also have veggie, chicken, corn dogs, etc) Once you have your order you get to put as much produce on it that’s available and condiments too! It’s self serve. It’s a little twist on a burger joint. The customer service is great! Greeted right away, talked through the menu and asked how we were during/after our meal. I ordered the monsoon burger. Bacon, avocado, cheeseburger with garlic fries. I had food all over my face and juice from the burger dripping down my arm. At that point, i didn’t care how I looked because I was in heaven. So delicious! Try it out! I’ll be coming back to try their chicken sandwiches.

So I’m always game to try a new place to eat, especially a burger joint! This place was clean inside, had a decent sized menu with plenty of options. I think they under planned a little bit because they were out of a few of the side options besides standard Fries. Fry portion size was definitely large, even the kids meal gave quite a bit. More than we could eat. I got garlic Fries, they were just average. Just minced garlic put on the Fries, but they just tastes like standard fries you would get anywhere. I got the monsoon burger and my son just the standard kids burger. Medium rare cook was spot on(soooo rare at Burger joints to get anything but medium well and well)! Meat was fresh and great tasting. Overall a great burger! My son is pretty picky on what burgers he will eat and he actually loved his. Biggest annoyance was the lack of high chairs. They only have one and 5 different families asked for one. If they get a few more it would greatly help. Eating a burger with a one year old on your lap is a challenge! All in all a great burger joint and much welcomed in a town without many dining options. I wasn’t that big on the normal fries but the good quality meat would bring me back.

My new, favorite, go to place for a great burger. I believe that this place is comparable to Burgers and Brew on quality, but has it own uniqueness to it. The place itself is very nice, and has a nice mural and there’s more seating than it seems. I’ve been here a couple times now, and haven’t been let down! I’ve had the California burger and the Nola, and both are super good! When you get your burger, they come with fries. The burger is served with your choice of cheese and whatever toppings is listed with the burger. There is a condiment bar, where you can add whatever else you want to it. For example, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, pickles, olives, jalapeños, etc. A must have, is the pickled onions to add on to your burger! Can’t go wrong if you want to try this place out for a burger. I believe the price is right for the quality you’re getting. Workers are nice, and the owner is also very nice! Give this place a chance, you won’t be let down!

Solid opening. I ordered an avocado cheeseburger but the cashier forgot to add the avocado on the receipt. Husband had the double dog dare you. Tasty burger, my fries came out cold, since employees are still working on timing. Good start, with the potential for better. Can’t wait to try it again in a few weeks when everyone is more comfortable in their tasks. Burgers and hotdogs come naked. There is an veggie bar where you can build your own toppings.
