Under new management. Bacon breakfast burrito was small but sufficient. Not much bacon & dry eggs. My husband got the Lengua super burrito, mostly wet ingredients like crema and guacamole, not a large share of meat and the Lengua was flavorless and overcooked. We will not be back. Unfortunately the prior place was much better when I was there several years ago.

Well I was craving the 5 rolled large taquitos, so I decided to go to my favorite little hole in wall Lucy’s. I get there and notice there’s a different couple so I ordered my food and in the middle of my conversation with the cashier, I ask where the other couple were and she said that they no longer owned the place and that they took over the business. Soo all I’m really thinking about is my taquitos lol, hoping and praying they still look like the regular ones I usually get. Upon receiving my box of food. I got to my car opened it up and… disappointment ran across my face. They were super small! Everything was tossed around. I was sad lol. Couldn’t even take a picture that’s how sad I was. I still ate them tho lol. In conclusion there are new owner’s of Lucy’s, my friend said I’m giving them a bad rating already because their new owners lol but I’m keepin it real and letting y’all know it might not be what we. Excuse me I’m use too lol but try them out this is just my opinion. Happy Unilocaling!

The food is fair. Kinda hit or miss. The carnitas are always good and crispy. The way I like em! Love the asada fries. I always get carnitas on mine. Ducks they don’t have a business phone number to call ahead…

I so miss being able to be in this area of Sacramento and being able to eat here… location and clientele that hang out around here not the best but the food is totally legit! I have tried all sorts of stuff off the menu and never had a bad meal or item. My favorites are the chili verde and love love the torta sandwiches made with pastor. It is worth coming over to this area to grab some food for sure.

They take a while to prepare since its only one cook and one cashier. Last time I went there was just one person working both. Prices are reasonable and they have a lot to choose from. I LOVETHEIRCARNEASADAFRIES. I never heard of carne asada fries until coming by to Lucy’s. I tried them and it was amazing! fresh cut avacados, long fries, and juicy meat. Their carne asada fries are better than Betos! Betos portions weren’t as huge or as nice and packed and juicy as Lucy’s. Who couldn’t say no to 7.99 carne asada fries that weighed more than a lb? Haha. As for the rest of the menu I wouldn’t know. I only go to Lucy’s for their fries. But I’m hoping to try a burrito soon! love it because it’s near me.

I have to rate this for my hubby. We went again on Saturday for the Sat Menudo. As much as I love Mexican food, this place is A-ok, I guess it depends on the day you come. My menudo was plenty of tripe, however not a lot of hominy. If your a menudo fan, you will understand this. Menudo needs to be cleaned very well, if its not it will make your soup smell like chitlins, which some people do not like, especially me. I end up adding too much onion, oregano, cilantro and lime to kill the smell. But as I said, it depends when you visit the place and the mood the cook is in. LOL! Tacos– Great streat tacos, but I love the meaty ones. Buritos — try the shrimp burrito, a little pricy, but worth every bite!

If you’re looking for great tasting authentic Mexican food, taqueria quality, then this is NOT the place for you. After reading the reviews I was very excited to try this place. On their behalf, the customer service was excellent, but the food was far less. I ordered a super burrito with everything and it was tasteless. I asked for Carne Asada and I swear I got ground beef. YUK. Hardly any cheese & sour cream. Usually super burritos fill me up and sometimes I can’t even finish them, even when I am most hungry, but this time I was not starving and I finished it and was still hungry. The only reason I did finish it was because I have nothing else to eat. I won’t be coming back & I am once again on the hunt for authentic Mexican food in Sacramento. :\

Hole in the wall… for real. This place is amazing though! I can highly recommend the chicken tacos and bean and cheese burritos. The carne asada burrito is also a favorite of my family. It’s the kind of place where you almost hate to try something different because then the next time you go you want that again but you still want your original favorite item and you just know something else could be even better! Too many decisions! Good problem to have IMO :) Generous portions. Cheap. The place is clean. It’s not fast food though. You have to wait for it. Totally worth it. We always get take away so I can’t say anything about eating in there.

This is the best hole-in-the-wall Mexican restaurant in the Arden Arcade area! Their food is authentic and portions are massive compared to the price. I have only had takeout from here but plan to come for a visit soon. A co-worker has brought me burritos from this place for lunch. They were delicious, HUGE and only cost me five bucks, although I believe the actual price is $ 5.95 which is still completely worth it! I hear their Menudo is the bomb here as well.

I have been a regular at Lucy’s Taqueria since they opened. This place is decorated like all truly excellent Mexican restaurants — poorly. They don’t spend their energy on ambience, they spend it on their food. With that said, I have tried nearly every item on the menu and have never been disappointed. Their salsa is amazing. The chile verde is some of the best I have ever had. The carnitas is a little greasy for my taste but such a terrific guilty pleasure. Even their vegetarian burritos are delicious. The only bad thing I could say about Lucy’s is that there is virtually nothing healthy on the menu. One note — I am usually somewhat squeamish about meat at hole-in-the-wall Mexican places but Lucy’s has never let me down. Not once — and I have been there at least 40 times. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking to grab a delicious burrito or a few tacos to go.

When I go to a restaurant that has bars on the doors and windows I use a sliding scale for the review. As far as street tacos go though this is my favorite place in Sac. Here is why, you can get a six pack of tacos for 7 bucks. That’s like a $ 1.17 a taco, crazy cheap. These are super simple tacos, the way they are suppose to, corn tortilla, cilantro and onion. The chicken is fried crispy(can you say Lardo), the asada is juicy and cut into tiny little pieces, the pastor and carnitas are also very flavorful. So how’s this for all you budget conscious folks out there, six tacos and two coronas for a little more than ten bucks. PS don’t be scared off by the bars on the windows, be adventurous!

Went here for lunch and wasn’t to impressed. The food was average or at least the chimichanga that I ordered was. The employee at the register was more interested in talking about her novelas with another employee than taking my order.

I have been a customer for several years. I usually buy 6 pack tacos. They taste like homemade food. Also love their gorditas and nachos supreme. Not fancy inside, but clean, and I usually take my order to go anyway.

This place is kind of a hole in the wall … my friend and I were headed to Little Caesars Pizza when we drove by this place and decided that our craving changed to mexican. She had the carne asada fries, which I MUST say was REALLY delicious. I had the street tacos which were just as good. All their food is made to order so it takes a while for the food to come out, but it IS worth it. There is a chips and salsa bar for those that eat in – also if your taking your food to-go you could ask them for a bag to take some chips & salsa home with your meal and they’ll give it to you. the place is never too packed so getting a seat isn’t a problem. They do accept visa & mastercard and the workers are very nice. I haven’t visited lately since I moved out of the area, but I’ll make the drive ever so often to have some of their delicious food once more. *two thumbs up!*
