Over the years I have referred numerous clients to Dan Wigon for immigration and criminal defense needs. Dan helped my mom get her citizenship a few years ago. He proved to be professional, knowledgeable, attentive, responsive, and successful in achieving what was at task. He also helped others I know with their complex deportation and asylum cases. Some people may think that it is better to avoid lawyer fees, but in deportation proceedings, there are many steps and it gets complicated. Without the help of this office, my uncle would have been deported. Mr. Wigon has over 15 years of experience with knowledge of criminal law. He not only resolved the immigration issue, he was also able to reduce my uncle’s DUI to a wet and reckless. They prepared my uncle for each hearing and steps in the immigration deportation process. Dr. X must have had unreal expectations regarding his legal situation that he placed himself in. Lawyers are people, not magicians. They cannot snap their fingers and «undo» the mistakes people make.
It is their job to inform their client of potential situations or conclusions that may come from their actions – sometimes those things are in fact frightening!
Mr. Wigon and his entire office are a pleasure to deal with and will be the first law office I go to should I need it.

We visited Mr. Wigon with an immigration question. Over the course of the $ 100 consultation he attempted to frighten and intimidate us by describing situations that other attorneys have told us are extremely unlikely, and telling us they could easily happen. (Things like, «I think you will be detained at the border and threatened with deportation.») He suggested we hire him on the spot for «somewhere between 2000 and 5000 dollars» to make sure these terrible things didn’t happen to us.
By the end of the meeting it was very clear that he was a shyster who was trying to terrorize us into giving him money. The legal advice he gave us was not good, and the manner in which he gave it to us was disgusting.
If you need legal help, FIND SOMEONE ELSE. This guy is a terrible attorney.
I feel bad for his associate attorney, who actually seemed like a nice guy, and appeared visibly uncomfortable while his boss was acting like a complete douchebag.
**Incidentally, we did find a different attorney in SF, who gave us completely different legal advice, and none of the terrible things Mr. Wigon described ever happened.
