I have always had a great experience with Dr. Mucci and his staff. He does all your cleanings himself and any appropriate dental work needed which I appreciate. I now have my husband and other family members seeing him.

My whole family has beens going to Dr. Mucci for a few years now. We have always had a pleasant experience.
We go in every 6 months for cleanings and have had a couple of fillings and a replacement filling done by Dr. Mucci as well. He is always quick, efficient and gentle.
Perviously I have been very nervous about going to the dentist. But now I do not dread it at all. Even my two teenagers only grumble a little when it is time for a cleaning.

I’m very pleased with my choice of this office. My experience with Dr. Mucci and his staff has been pleasant every time. I’d been scared to visit the dentist for years due to bad experiences but needed a few teeth pulled out due to years of bad choices and neglect. They made me an appointment and I reluctantly showed up. I was scared and wasn’t shy about letting them know. I like that they took the time to listen to my concerns and I was the only patient there at the time. Yes I needed my tooth pulled along with other much needed work. Dr. Mucci was for me the right fit. He was professional and introduced himself and got to work. Before I knew it my tooth was out. What a relief. No pain and quick. I felt that wasn’t so bad and ended up seeking all my treatment with him. Great experience for me now I’m not afraid of the dentist. To top it all off now my smile is beautiful and full again with the partials I received through Dr. Mucci. Yes they needed adjustment’s no problem getting back in with an appointment. Now they fit perfectly. I’m very pleased. My daughter has finished her treatments like me and now we just go in every 6 months for cleanings. I recommend him highly even if you fear the dentist. He will change your mind.

0 stars would be more than appropriate here. This company leaves itself 5 star reviews for starters (see the 6÷4÷12 by Oskana M). We had been scheduled for a Tuesday morning. We go in 30 minutes early, mind you, and are turned down because the receptionist made a mistake. She had the appointment scheduled for a different Tuesday. So we take the card and as she said waited to call back to reschedule for a different day. A good week goes by and we call back and she tells me we need to pay them for their mistake, and then goes on to be rude and doesn’t provide the name of her manager. She actually hangs up after I ask for the manager. Just poor business practices all around and I am glad we didn’t go to this office for treatment. I called the insurance’s customer service line and actually had to complain about the service given. I have never made a formalized complaint but this situation called for it.

The out-​of-​town dentist I have seen for 30 years is retiring, and in my search for a new and local dentist, I contacted Dr. Mucci’s office. My husband is in need of some extensive work, and prior to making an appointment, I asked if Dr. Mucci would call our old dentist (a well known specialist and professor at UCSF) to discuss the treatment plan.
He would not consider taking the few minutes to make the call, which shows that he is either unsure of his own diagnosing skills, doesn’t care enough about a new patient to take three minutes for a phone call, or both. Neither bodes well for his patients, and I highly suggest looking elsewhere for dental health care. He should be ashamed.

The dentist is nice enough, I suppose, but he will have his staff give you a quote for services and work NOT COVERED by your insurance. If you’re on a budget and have to work within what’s allowed through your insurance, don“t expect this office to appreciate that. They’ll expect you to pay for high-​end work when you may not be living in a high-​end world.
