Long overdue review. Adrian, the owner, is knowledgable and passionate about his craft. True to his belief of the bike should fit the rider and not the other way around, my experience has been just that. Couldn’t be happier with my Cinelli Saetta bike. Adrian changed the handlebar for me b/​c my size fits a small frame but shoulders are too wide for the stock. Also was able to try out 3 – 4 different saddles until they fit just right. Superlative service. As long as Adrian is here, this is my Local Bike Shop.

A great place to bring your ride in for repair or purchase something to go along with your bike.
If Adrian does not have it in house, he has the knowledge and resources to get it for you quickly.
Repairs are completed quickly, by very knowledgeable staff, and affordable. What else does one need?
Small shop, with a variety of accessories and must haves. If you don’t see it in your color, Adrian gets it for you. Don’t be fooled by limited inventory and low overhead… you can get anything at IKON.
If your need is to be fitted for a bike, Adrian takes his time to make sure every moving part and inch of that bike fits the rider properly. Think the new ride needs a slight adjustment, he can do it. Major repair, get it done here.
A thorough shop and staff. Well worth going there.

After having a difficult time locating a Busch and Muller lighting system in Sacramento, I was happy to find Ikon Cycles. Adrian ordered a Shimano Alfine dynamo hub and the Busch and Muller Lumotec lights for me. Adrian built my wheel with the new hub and walked me through DIY process of connecting the lights. Adrian is a really cool guy and he does quality work at a reasonable price.

Adrian not only fixed my flat for less than the local competition seems to be charging, he showed me what to do if I wanted to give it a try myself next time. I probably won’t though, because he is faster and better at it and I like to support local business.

I purchased my bike from a competitor and they still gave me the time of day. Very knowledgeable and helpful. Cary a good line of clothing especially Castelli. Could use a wall stretcher. A lot of stuff in a small amount of space. I’m sure the rent on J street is not cheap.

Adrian has been amazing since day one. Every time I need some for my bike, my wife’s bike and now my son’s bike… he is always so helpful and offers valuable advice. Would never recommend anyone else. Ikon + Adrian = best bike shop in town, hands down.

Super small store… Super Helpful Staff!!! They don’t have the largest inventory but the staff are super helpful and super friendly. Willing to spend the time to help you find what you need.
They also do super repair work! I had a bent rim that they tried to repair. It ended up not able to be repaired though… they didn’t charge me for the time that they put in and gave me the chance to buy an AT COST wheel.
Will definitely go back again! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

This place is AWESOME. Not only for the cycling knowledge that Adrian has but he’s also an awesome guy. I have been going in there for awhile when a buddy of mine was buying a bike from him and I spent half the time drooling over all the bikes. Last year I had a HUGE failure on a rear wheel of my bike and my first stop was Ikon. I went to Adrian and we talked about my riding style, how much I ride, and what I was looking for. I picked up the Fulcrum Racing 5 wheels and a new rear dérailleur. Adrian could have EASILY talked me into a way more expensive wheel-​set but didn’t, he knew my budget and what type of rider I was and recommended these wheels without hesitation. Man, what an upgrade! After that positively awesome experience, I knew when I upgrade my frame I would be going to Adrian.
I spent months coming in and talking to him about bikes. Then I finally was able to upgrade my frame. Again, I went straight to Adrian and was like «Tell me what to buy, Oh Wise Bike god!» We talked again for a couple hours about different options, custom carbon frame or manufactured carbon frame. I was ready to drop some $$$. I started to lean towards the custom carbon frame, with a much HIGHER sticker price, and then he said that it would be a great bike, but for the money I should go with this other manufacturer cause their 2014 models are on a 40% clearance sale. So again, I could have easily dropped a chunk of change with him but I bought the other frame.
I picked up the Argon 18 Gallium. He set it up to my specs, and the bike is BEAUTIFUL.
I talked about trying a new saddle on it, and was eying one that he carries, so he let me borrow it to make sure I liked it!
Again, GREAT customer service every time I go there. Ikon Cycles has become my bike shop. He’s local. He knows what he’s talking about, and he’s there to get you into a bike that fits YOU and not him…
Now I’m looking forward to going through him to upgrade my groupset. Campi Record anyone? ;)

Been shopping around for a couple beach cruisers for awhile now. Most shops are either overly expensive or have really cheap heavy cruisers. What really sold me here was great, friendly service by the owner. He had one cruiser I really liked in stock for a great price and ordered the 2^nd one for me. Overall, great service, small local shop with good prices.

I lost a break pad half way from riding from Sac state to my gym on I street, lucky I have past ikon on J several times since moving here. After realizing my failed breaks and several traffic lights, not to mention people about on Halloween on both path and roads Adrian was quick to help me on entering the store. It took a lil longer than normal to get my brakes fixed due to not lining up but I was compensated by a discount and lovely service made up for the wait.
Great staff, customer service and a passion for what u do exudes from this place. So friendly too. I’m a very happy customer :)

You can tell Adrian has a passion for his craft. Everything he has done to my bike has been splendid.
Ikon has a very welcoming atmosphere. I knew very little about bike maintenance when I first went there and Adrian was happy to answer all my questions.

My husband and I went here for a new bike seat. We are not avid bike riders! The people were very friendly, helpful and got him all set with something more comfortable. I liked that they were not snooty about us not being crazy bike folk as some other shops are.

Helped me out, hooked it up, and I left happy… people in there are chill too… dunno much about bike shops but I bet they can be pretty pretentious so it was cool to get a good vibe from this place… go and check it for yourself!

If you care about high performance cycling, there is no better place in Sacramento.
Ikon offers custom elite builds that are in stark contrast to the big box, one-​size-​fits-​all, prefabricated bikes peddled by all nearby sellers. Not only does Ikon provide access to exceptional bikes, there is a fine selection of componentry and high end clothing. Adrian, the shop owner and principle mechanic, is extremely knowledgeable and friendly and will likely be able to diagnose your bike’s pathology in minutes.
Perhaps the most remarkable feature of Ikon is that there is none of the smarmy arrogance that fills this industry. I have never felt more comfortable in a bike shop and confident that I was making the right purchase.

I took my humble Schwinn bike in to Adrian at Ikon Cycles to get fitted with a bike rack today. While he had it up on the rack, I mentioned that I had oiled the chain but there were «rubbing» noises and difficulty downshifting from 3 to 2. He did a tune-​up and even performed a customized fitting/​installation for my rear reflector onto the new bike rack. All the while, he was very friendly; and even let me cruise through his computer to see what panier bags he had available to order for me if I wanted to do that. LOVE the laid-​back but totally engaging yet professional attitude. Exactly what I expect from a neighborhood shop. This experience was completely the opposite of some snooty bike shop in Roseville who «dismissed: me as not worthy to bother with and went back to work on bikes when I didn’t have my bike with me.
Excellent customer service, top-​quality work, reasonable prices. Does it get better than that?

My road bike got stolen and I bought a new one without doing my research. I should have come to Ikon before I bought the new one from a bike shop that’s way too far away. Ikon specializes in bike fits and then orders you the components to make your bike fit right. They also specialize is Selle SMP seats, which are funny looking but effective at increasing blood flow in the crotch area. If you are looking for a new bike, go talk to them. If you don’t ride your bike as much as you’d like because it’s not super-​comfortable, they can help with that better than any other bike shop in Sacramento.

This is by far the best bike shop I have been to. I purchased a bike from them and it has been both an enjoyable experience and a learning one because they let me build the bike myself (with their guidance of course). Adrian and Stan are definitely knowledgeable and friendly. If you are looking for a bike and great customer service than you should check this place out! ^_​_​^

Bike shops can be so intimidating, especially to a newbie like me! Ikon Cycles is different! The guys don’t have that attitude that you so often encounter another shops.
I recently took up bicycling. I have a bike that I bought back in the 90’s and really never used it much. The bike has followed me from town to town and always been stored!
But about two months ago I decided that it was time to dust her off and start biking in from Carmichael to Midtown. It’s been great, but I knew that the bike needed a major servicing.
One of my clients suggested Ikon Cycles to me and so I went to check them out.
Like I said at the beginning, these guys did not judge me in any way! They took my bike in and let me tell you how much better my bike rides now! Night and day difference! Not only did they do an awesome job with my old bike, they gave me a lot of advice on what to look for in my next bike!
Oh, my next bike will be coming from Ikon!

Was looking for an IGH bike and sauntered into Adrian’s place with quite a large list. He patiently explained what I would like/​not like about all the bikes on my list. We decided on a Breezer Uptown 8 which was more than the bike I originally was going to buy but less than the Breezer Infinity I was thinking about both on his recommendation.
Took a little longer to get the bike to the shop to be assembled but no biggie. Brought it back after a week to get the handlebars/​seating tweaked to my liking. Still need to get a folding bike basket when they’re in stock.
Is a very small place but I’d rather give them my business than a commissioned shop. And from what I saw when I was there, he does a very good business because he takes the time to take care of his customers.

This shop specializes in high end bikes like Kestrel and Willier. They also carry very nice town bikes for those not interested in serious road cycling. When purchasing from here you receive a fitting to guarantee that your money is well spent. The owner, Adrian, is incredibly knowledgeable, friendly and easy to work with.
I highly recommend at least stopping in to check the shop out. It’s location is great for walking traffic but it can be difficult to find parking.
