Mrs. Griselda Barajas, a prominent community leader, owns and operates Griselda’s Catering Services located in the heart of Sacramento. Texas Mexican Restaurant and Catering opened its doors to the delight of Sacramento businesses and residents in 1993. In January 7, 2002 she took over the Capitol’s primary concession now known as Griselda’s World Café located in lower level and her improvements have received bipartisan approval. She attributes the success of her restaurants and catering to the entrepreneurial spirit that was instilled in her as a young girl.

As a recognized business leader, she continues to be a strong advocate for small business owners in the community. Over the years as an advocate leader, Griselda has developed personal and solid working relationships with business & community leaders, elected officials, trade union, and organizational representatives for building coalition on business and community issues.

Last week I used Griselda’s Catering for an event for 135 attendees. The food was excellent. I was very behind in ordering a caterer and contacted Griselda’s approx. three weeks prior to my event in Elk Grove. Her staff was on time, very nice, accommodating and they also provided a separate Vegan meal for folks who had dietary restrictions.
I have used Griselda’s many times in the past (approx. 6+ yrs ago) and chose her catering service again because i have always received excellent service.

I’ve had great experiences with Griselda’s catering in years past. They’ve catered a small annual event and have come through successfully in the past. Unfortunately, this year they changed their policy to only cater corporate events with groups of 20 or more. Understandably, they need to do what’s best for their business. However, my gripe is not with their change in policy. It’s the lack of communication by Griselda and her catering manager. I sent an email request through their website, telephoned their number which was disconnected, sent them both an email with no response until the last minute before my event was to take place. I honestly didn’t think much of it when they didn’t respond initially because I know how busy they get. However, a simple and quick response from them would’ve saved their reputation with me. This is exactly the type of communication that hurts businesses. Again, I have no problem with their change in policy. It’s their lack of communication.

It seems that there are a lot of mixed reviews regarding Griselda’s Catering, and unfortunately I experienced the «1 star» customer service that everyone has been complaining about.
I have called twice and sent an e-​mail via their contact us page on their website. Honestly, there are so many great caterers in Sacramento, I shouldn’t have to hunt you down to get a quote. Hey, maybe they’re just that busy! Good for them. Bad for any potential client.

I sent them two emails and left a voicemail over the span of a month in regards to wedding catering– never heard back. I don’t know if that means they’re immensely popular and you have to hunt them down but it was a total turnoff for me.

Griselda’ provides the best customer service when it comes to catering. She was very professional and made my wedding extra special. I like how she presented the food (which was delicious) and everyone at my wedding are still raving about how good the food was. I recommend anyone who is getting married to definitely consider Griselda’s Catering for their wedding. Her staff was also very helpful and polite– super easy to work with. I am very pleased with everything she did on my special day!

Griselda’s Catering is the absolute best! Not only are they super easy to work with and flexible… something critical for me because I changed my mind and added to or adjusted my order weekly; they also go above and beyond to make your day absolutely perfect. They catered our wedding, an intimate affair with dinner at our home. We were running late from the ceremony of course, so they just did all the little extras they weren’t required to do without me having to ask. They thought about things before I had to which was so fantastic because I hadn’t hired a planner. They boxed up all the leftovers and put them in the fridge and even left the rentals at my home because the party was still going! They were very quiet the next morning coming to pick everything up which was greatly appreciated. Overall, I would use them for every single thing I do, the food was really amazing and the staff was exceptional. Doesn’t get much better.

Our firm has been a fan of Griselda’s Catering and her families’ restaurant for many years. She has catered many events of ours, from hosting fundraiser at their original restaurant on 7th street as well as her catering service offsite. Griselda’s Catering demonstrate such professionalism in their service and her selections of foods appeals to every pallet. Her and her staff adds that personal touch with a smile!

Griselda’s catered a wedding for us last weekend and they were great. They were easy to reach, professional and the food was yummy. They also were very accommodating about handling some ethnic appetizers, and I have to admit the macaroni and cheese bites were to die for! Geri, Griselda, and the entire staff have hit it out of the park on several occasions for me and I am happy to refer them to my clients!

Griselda’s Catering catered our wedding a couple of weeks ago and her and her talented staff did a great job at keeping our guests happy with a beautiful buffet display, delicious food, great bartending, and awesome service all night! It was a pleasure to work with both Geri and Griselda in the months leading up to finalizing all the details for our big event, I was a very involved bride, so they were both very responsive to my questions and requests. The grilled fajitas buffet, guacamole, and salsa and chips were delicious and were a big hit with our guests, they loved the authentic flavor and the great service! I highly recommend them to cater any type of event!

Griselda’s catered our wedding last night and we could not have been happier with the service and the food! From our very first appointment they were extremely knowledgeable and helpful in helping us to create the menu. We knew we didn’t want typical «wedding food,» and they helped us to put together a fantastic buffet with plenty of options for everyone. We were blown away with how good the food was at our tasting, and it tasted just as delicious at the wedding. So many people came up to me to tell me how good our foods was. Griselda herself and the wedding coordinator, Geri, are both a pleasure to work with and were so helpful even with the smaller details like table linens and glassware. They were also NEVER pushy and offered a variety of options to help us stay within our budget. They took special care of us on our wedding day, even making certain that we even had a tray of appetizers reserved for when we arrived. We have no doubt that we made the best choice with Griselda’s.

Met with Griselda for a consultation with my family. She appeared nice and responsive at first. However, following our meeting I tried to contact her regarding questions I had regarding the price quote she emailed me. I left her two emails and a voicemail message on her cell phone. She never returned any of my emails or calls… AND I even told her I had the deposit to give her after she answered my question! I would have hired her! My guess is that I wasn’t going to contract her for all her services such as hiring her for my wedding planner also. She would have charged a gratuity for talking to the party rental places, picking my linens, etc. (something I could do myself). I was having 250 wedding guests so i thought I had a good number of people. I was also hiring her bartenders. But I guess not enough people or money spent for Griselda’s standards. So I contracted another caterer. Non-​responsive and Poor customer service!
