Greenhaven Optometry

This is my first visit to the Opto since leaving the service. Surprisingly this clinic was right around the corner from where i live. The staff are wonderful and are all very helpful and accommodating…
(i am bad at names so forgive me) The clinic is very clean and inviting. I am very happy with the many choices of Raybans to choose from. Unfortunately just like every Opto, you have to wait for your order to come in. I can’t wait for mine because i really need it. So if you’re in need of glasses, try this clinic out. You will not be disappointed. Thank you to all the Staff

This place was great. They were plesant accomodating and professional. My optometrist talked me through the entire exam and explained the lingo as he went. I would definitely reccomend them and I plan to keep them as my provider.

New to the area & just had my first appointment @ Greenhaven Optometry. I seen Dr. David & he was great! Very nice & thorough. He explained everything to me! His staff was very polite & professional. I didn’t have to wait long to get my appointment or be seen. Office was clean and they had a large selection of frames. I would definitely recommend this office to anyone looking for a new eye Dr.

The staff and doctors are so friendly and thorough. The office is clean and the hours of operation are great. The equipment is high-​tech. The doctor did not stop working with my case until we got the best and clearest vision with my contact lenses and glasses. I recommended this place to my husband and he loves them too. As long as I live in Sacramento and they are in business they will be my eye doctor of choice.

As a new patient it was a difficult decision to change optometry since the one I had I was going to for 15 years plus it was out of my way to continue going to them so I am glad I made the change and I found Greenhaven Optometry. Not only are they nice and have a friendly atmosphere but they treat their patients with respect and are concerned with their well being. Dr Steve is the greatest and he explained everything he was doing and explained my xrays so I could understand them. Dr Steve recommended glasses that I can see through since the ones I had before were not actually what I should have been wearing. I now have one pair of glasses I am wearing versus two. Greenhaven Optometry is so convenient to wear I live since my previous eye doctor was out of my way and hours were not flexible to my schedule. I would recommend them to any one that needs an eye doctor. Thanks Dr Steve and staff!

Initially, I was sad to leave my old optometry, but after moving, it was just too much of a drive to go back to the same place to get my annual check ups. When I did a search for all nearby optometry, I had 3 places to choose from. What lured me to this location was not solely proximity but because of the previous reviews. I am so glad I came here for my recent eye exam.
I came in about 20 minutes early to my appointment time to give time to check-​in and settle in. All of the assistant clerks had a warm smile and greeted me. Lexy was very kind and quickly confirmed my appointment, she then gave me a small card and let me know that the office is shifting towards using an online portal and briefed that the card has information on how I can check my profile.
The place was fairly small, but there are plenty chairs up front to sit and wait. A TV monitor displays a video that talks about eye health. One of the staff took me in to do some preliminary tests and gather medical history prior to meeting with Dr. April. Because I was early, I did have to wait a couple minutes.
Dr. April got started on the testing procedures immediately after calling me in. I absolutely admire how I was treated as a close friend already even though it was my first visit. We had a few good laughs going over some of the testing, especially the color blind test when I nearly mistaken a random color blob as the number. until I caught myself by asking, «Is that even a number?!». And sure enough, it was not a number, just one of those tricky page to throw you off!
After the basic procedural tests, it was time to get my pupil dilated for a better view of the internal eye. Initially I was going to go with getting the drops in my eyes to expand the pupil. But I was never really a fan of that as it would my make my already sensitive eyes MORE sensitive to the light. I was offered if I wanted to try the optomap retinal exam where they would be able to get a broader view of my eye (200° vs 30° using conventional method). I was also told that my benefits didn’t fully cover the retinal exam, so I would have to pay $ 35 for it. Which is just $ 17.5 per eye. Me being a tech savvy guy, I decided what the heck. why not give this new technology a try. I also didn’t want to be dilated for hours afterwards. I did not regret trying the optomap retinal exam at all. The process was super easy and painless. The machine required me to lean inward until the scanner displays a green light. A laser then scans the eye. This is done to one eye at a time. After the test, I moved back to the other room, where Dr. April sat with the images of my eyes already up on the screen and ready to explain to me what the image was showing. I was fascinated and learned a few new things about my eyes.
The entire visit was smooth and pleasant. Before leaving, I was scheduled a follow-​up appointment for my contact lenses. I couldn’t have been happier going to an optometry. I am definitely looking forward to their online tool that will feature a visual of you wearing glasses offered at the location. Definitely love how this place keeps up with new technologies!

Took my twin three-​year-​old girls, myself and my partner for eye exams. They were quick but thorough, efficient and very patient with my children.

I just went last week for the first time, and was blown away by how nice everyone was to me.
I saw Dr. Robert, and he treated me as if we were friends from a long time ago. He took the time to explain everything, he never looked rushed… I left the office as a very happy customer.

I’ve been going to greenhaven optometry since I was probably 5 years old. Dr. April is very detailed and does not take any short cuts. One of the reasons why I love this office is because the doctors will answer any question. The doctors in the practice are very knowledgeable and continue to keep up with technology.
The doctors make sure you get the best for dollar when ordering. Unfortunately, I have glasses and contacts so usually my eye appointments are expensive. This is probably my favorite medical appointment of the year just because of the doctors.

I see Dr April and she I very thorough and very good at explaining what she is seeing in your charts and why she recommends certain things. Frame selection is very good and if you have vsp coverage a lot are fully covered.
I would recommend them to anybody. Very friendly and knowledgable staff.

This place is the best! Wide selection of frames– they really listen to your needs. Joan is really kind and helpful. No pressure for the upsale on your glasses or frames. Just found a prefect place for my family’s optic needs! Thank you to an Awesome staff:)

Had a great experience at Greenhaven Optometry, the staff are always professional and happy to help out. I like the way staff answer the phone with a great greeting. Dr, April was great she help a lot with my vision. She look over my vision and not trying to over sell me on glasses. She is great and what she does.

I love this place!!! The stadf was nice. Carol in the front got me n the doctor, she was amazing. I have never spent time with an eye doctor like this. April was informative, caring, n smart! They r frekin high tech!!! Love this place. This isn’t ur average 15 minute eye dilation, go pick it ur glasses! No, this is care, deduction, and intelligence if u want that! She even help me pick it glasses that would contour my face n eyes. Come on. Some places just say go pick out what u like… Great place!

After reading the reviews on Unilocal,I decided to give Greenhaven Optometry a try. I was really impressed with Dr. Robert, as he was extremely informative. The visit was very pleasant, along with all staff members. One of the things I like was the cost. Very reasonable and any discounts can be given, were given. Keep up the great work!

Wow that 1-​Star review is an anomaly ! I’ve never had issues with this office, the people there, nor the phones, the email system, or their social media presence.
That said … I don’t carry vision insurance, so was seeking someone not about to gouge me with insurance company prices, when I went shopping for a new optometrist in my new neighborhood, to obtain new glasses and new contacts.
Dr. Steve Omoto bent over backwards every step of the way to shave as many dollars off my costs, and offer every manufacturers’ rebate possible. My Depression-​era Mother would’ve been so proud of his herculean efforts !
I love Dr. Steve. My first patient visit was like meeting a cool new friend and all visits that followed were like hanging out with an old pal.
Though I know how popular their practice is, he spent all the time in the world with me, answered all my myriad questions, and explained all his, new to me, testing toys.
My every interaction with the entire staff is always fast and friendly.
I couldn’t recommend more highly this family of knowledgeable, kind, professional Optometrists and the wonderful team of people who make it happen in the front office.

Okay so here is our experience.
Tried to call during normal business hours and receive voicemail.
Tried to access website via smartphone and mobile website had functionality issues so we couldn’t get any info.
Sent an email received, a few hours later received a call from someone who was not very nice, and claimed they couldn’t hear due to noise and hung up.
So we drove to the office to be greeted by 3 office staff who were also not very nice.
Asked what the cost was for an eye exam and was told $ 134 and change, end of story no explanation what was included just an insistent attitude that that was the price as well laughter regarding our query.
So needless to say we left. This was a weird experience to say the least. Not sure whether to be offended or confused. However we are somewhat new to the area so maybe this is the optometric culture here.
Our family is off to find optometric services elsewhere.

I turned to Greenhaven Optometry because I heard many great things about the doctors and the care they provided. I needed an Optometrist who cared about my well being and not the paycheck they’re raking in from me. Greenhaven Optometry definitely exceeded my high expectations. Dr. Robert Omoto provided insightful and eye opening (no pun intended) details about the health of my eyes that no other Optometrist could provide me in the past. Knowing what I know now about my eyes and vision, I wish I had chosen Greenhaven Optometry from the very beginning. I will be taking my sunburnt scleras and VSP to Dr. Robert Omoto every year from now on. If it helps any… Dr. Robert Omoto is easy on the eyes too ;)

My first fitting for glasses was in the fourth grade, and over the past decade and some change I’ve seen the Omoto’s for all of my optometry needs. Every time I step into their office for a visit, I’m always happily greeted by their staff, many of whom have been with their practice for years. The Omoto’s staff is like a big family!
I’ve been seeing Dr. Steve since that first visit in the fourth grade, and he is the best! Beyond having years of expertise as an optometrist, Dr. Steve is extremely friendly and cares about truly getting to know his patients. At my yearly visits, he always manages to balance examining the health of my eyes and «catching up» on my life happenings.
And it appears that their office is expanding (and just changed locations)! This year I scheduled my appointment a bit last minute, and Dr. Steve’s schedule was full, so I had the opportunity to see Dr. Rob who is a new addition to the Omoto’s practice. Although not as chatty as Dr. Steve, he was really nice and extremely thorough during my examination. When fitting for my contacts, Dr. Rob had me try on several different lenses; I appreciated his dedication and patience to finding the «perfect» fit. Although the visit took a bit more time, I knew I was in good hands.
There were a bunch of cool new machines that they made me use to test my eyes– so you can expect to be exposed to the latest technology in eye care (which is rad). Again, the staff is great, and I would highly recommend them!
